GIRL WITH ACNE was an experimental noise band from Phoenix Arizona, active from mid 2021 to early 2022. Although it was short-lived, the group intrigued a younger punk audience with their improvised and relentless performances. GWA only performed live 4 times and recorded some demos that were never completed or released. After a period of silence, the band originally came back together to feature in a music video for friend Owijo’s song, “Jesus Piece” acting as a backing band, but ended up playing a final gig in his backyard before the police arrived.
In total GIRL fashion, their final performance was entirely improvised with no songs or setlist, just a TR-8 rhythm performer, an electric guitar and a couple of zoom multi-fx pedals.
