Choosing Black Templars Colours
มุมมอง 29K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Black Templars have a fair bit of options when it comes to unit colours. So I'll go over them in this video!
I would have a question. If i build the sword guy you told that ill remain with leftover for the axe guy. But can i guild the axe guy as a 11th model or the main parts will be used for other minis. Or can i build 1 sword and 1 axe guy? And whst than…..? I really dont get it :(
I’m gonna paint all my shoulders cream with the black cross because it looks cool
What supplement mentions the red cross, white field, red trim? What unit type does it attribute it too? I've read people say its not a thing, I've read people say its non-sword brethren veterans, I've read people say its Apothecary. Though I know Black Templars are basically "Eh, do what you want", It would still be nice to know.
This is a legendary video
Great work dude youve helped me so much as i dont play the game so i dont know anything about lore and insignia. Thank you 😊
Close combat = Red trim Veterans = Black and Red Everything else = classic look
still very helpful, thank you
Check out the Hospitalier Chapter Red cross on White with Gold Trim "To honour the Emperor who is God. To shield the faithful. To bring absolution through death to the heretic, the apostate, the unbeliever and the alien." -Sacred vows of the Hospitallers Chapter
What color do you use for the chest aquila?
Extra pyre blaster, i had some like thin chain for it, and wrapped it around a model, to be able to pick between the wargear
A key thing to always do it to always run your assault intercessors as crusader squad initiates. You save on points in game as well. Plus I’m sure every black Templar enthusiast out there has extra bolts pistols and chain swords with chain on them that black Templar crusader squads use
Old video I know, but I built a intercession kill team out of the initiates, then bought 5 scouts cheap and built a scout kill team with the neophytes
I believe a lot of confusion came from shifting to first-born to primaris, and 8th/9th was trying to shove both army battlefield roles into one army, as now in 10th we just have the "primaris" battlefield rolls as the only battlefield rolls. No more troops, fast attack, elite. Just battleline, close quarters, fire support, veterans, commander. Battleline are the long range shooty boys, close quarters are the melee boys and close-range boys, fire support is heavy shooty boys, veterans are well veterans and commander is specially just captains, lieutenants, company heros. It does strictly state that assault intercessors are close combat, and regular intercessors are battleline. Although the black templars have not been released yet, I am sure that with the extreme divergent nature of Black Templars that it will vary on the specific model sense Crusader squads are so customizable. I personally think it is better and more unique that way as well.
Is glue necessary to buid these guys or no? Because I plan on buying them soon.
fun fact: the imperial fists 8th company are made up of mostly former black templar, which makes this kit perfect for them
hell ya man this was awesome ty
Black white red and metallics like gold and silver arrange as you like you’re welcome
It’s probably been stated already, but the Black Templars OG colour scheme used to be black shoulder pads with white cross a company colour trim when they used to be a Codex compliant chapter back in 2nd edition.
I use the tabards as well to denote rank Neophyte/Initiates: Cream Sword Brethren, Sargents, terminators, elites: yellow (because I'm a masochist and sanity is for the weak) HQ: Red I love that BTs are more or less a free for all with colors when compared to other chapters
I hate the helmentless look I'm going to probably use the firstborn helments I have for the scout types
My guys have black crosses on a red background with a bronze edging,
It’s nice to see it has use for non BT chapters, especially DA or their successors. Helped a bunch, especially the shoutout for actual Primaris scouts! I didn’t think of that Now to buy the combat patrol
laughs in Deathwatch
im new to 40k and life im a youth this helps me know what to do and buy
Imperial Fists!!!! We are sons of Dorn!
What a fucking awesome video
I would recommend against going with a white cross with red background.
in some of the combat patrol there is a error where you get a kit where you can make 2 sword brothers if you have another body so you get another set of teh cape hands sword ax etc... i greatly recommend the combat patrol sence tis value and u get a upgrade kit :D
I have the old original Templar codex that explains the shoulder trims
Nice, I do too! That is where I pulled most of the information from.
Dude there is literally a list in the Codex Space Marines, kinda like you list at 7:56, wich states what Units are Veterans/Close Support/Battle Line etc :D For example incursors are Close Support (Red/White) infiltrators Battle Line (black/White) Terminators are Veterans (so White helmets according to older BT stuff) and so on Maybe this helps also
Oh yeah for sure! I just go into a bit more detail and present a few more options!
Which legion fits me best mister boundless?
Imperial Fists!
@@boundlessbattlefields9320 YOU WOULD LIE TO ME!
@@lazysponge Never!
Go over all of them! I’d love it!
Which one would you recommend for a sad otter?
Space wolves
How about loyalist Emperor's Chldren?
I'd probably start with Saul Tarvitz!
I just paint more gold the more veteran the unit is. The sword brethren or blade guard sergeant will be blinged out to show his seniority Helbrects armor is almost all gold.
What base holder is that. Just got my first army.
It's the old painting handle from Games Workshop. They sell a more sleek version now.
This is very helpful. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Oh man, two capes left over!? Looks at Primaris Captain with power sword and storm shield, and Primaris Lieutenant with power sword and storm shield.
I was considering this set from the combat patrol for my salamanders list, because I can easily convert the crusaders over to assault intercessors, which I'm looking at getting 2 squads of 5, and I could use a set of 5 intercessors for the same list, too. I'm going to have to wait to see the bits for the marshal that comes with it to see what I can turn it into. The Impulsor will go to the Ultramarine list I'm working on that's going to be a bit vehicle heavy. 3 Impulsors with the comms layout so I can orbital strike 4 times per game. Make my opponent move in ways they might not otherwise to avoid the hits, or even use it to polish off crippled units. Whirlwinds because 72" reach. Tech marine for repairs. Infiltrators to screen for deep strikes. Still working on the rest of the list. Might go Incursors/eradicators/aggressors, and drop a named captain in there for giggles. Might go with some redemptor dreadnoughts.
I have a metal trim :)
What is a good website to use for a beginner @ Warhammer40k 40K?
Probably youtube for videos and Twitch for streams.
I'm kitbashing a plasma pistol and powerfist marshal as well using the Imperium magazine captain and one of the powerfists from the crusader squad. I was also gonna use the new castellan shoulders on him but then I found out they're in like 4 pieces and kinda part of his actual body which sucks. I'll just use some of the fancier shoulders from the new upgrade sprue. Using bt marked stuff for IF or CF would be fine, just say it was a gift. During the splitting of the legions parent chapters opened their armouries and gave weapons and armour to the new chapters to help remind them they came from something great, maybe one of these relics was given back as thanks for some kind of or as a token of friendship. (In my blood angels homebrew one of my officers wields a hammer of salamander forging given to him by a son of vulkan as a token of friendship)
The pyreblasters look a lot like the grey knight incinerators. It could be used nicely for a primaris sized kitbash of the grey knights.
Pyreblasters could be useful for killteam or Deathwatch vets :)
Basically, they do not follow the codex astartes, so they aren't as strict as something like the ultramarines. They'll be given armour relics for achieving great deeds so some armour might be slightly different. So long as they loosely follow the iconography you're good
I use the pyroblaster to make a company veterans with flamethrower
I play 8th company of imperial fists with the idea in mind of having black templar iconography
Great video man! Subbed. I really want GW to bring out a revised artwork/lore book showing in excruciating detail the livery of the most prominent chapters. I am currently working on my own Dark Angels rank/livery/honours "catalogue" in a word document because I'm a weirdo with too much time... anyone else done something like this? 😂
Thanks for the sub man, and sorry for the late reply! A new art book would be pretty sweet!
Thanks very helpful ;)
No problem!
Just make them yellow.
I like my Imperial Fists how I like my coffee.
