So much fun, we are already saving more jugs to go again (hopefully with less wind). I load 65 grain vmax in my 243 for coyotes. I think Jerry shoots eldx in his 6.5 creedmore.

Works great saves time matching teeth.

It really is! Plus it always surprising to find all the different kinds of wildlife there. One of the ones running is the one we shot. They ran all the way around us down wind and one snuck in.

We do at times usually just orange caps. Other times we don't want to give away our position, but we may keep the orange caps in our packs in case we need to show ourselves.

@idahomountainfamily8973 , I did see the kids wear a blaze hat at times. I like to wear blaze orange when rifle hunting to be visible to others to let them know where I'm at so hey don't accidentally infringe on the area I'm hunting for one and to know to not shoot in that direction. Just common sense. Take care and good hunting.

@@idahomountainfamily8973 nice good job on the hunt for the kiddo most people around here that use the 243 run the 100 grain bullets I personally don't use anything but ought six and 30-30 in the deep woods ought six for the open 2-400 yard shooting and I like the 165 Sierra game King bullets and 170 in the old saddle ring carbine also Sierras I roll all of my own ammo I have many different calibers but those are my favorite two go to calibers my old Winchester was bought new buy my grandfather in 1914 and it still functions great even though there's hardly any bluing left anywhere on it she still performs the job she was made for

We have always had great success with barnes bullets on big game. When we purchased the .243 the only barnes 6mm bullet for hunting was 80 grains so that's what we worked up a load for. Works pretty good for the kids. So far on the channel they have taken mule deer, white tail deer, black bear, and coyotes. When we hunt elk we use the old 7mm stw with 155 grain bullets. It's always a good time. Thanks for the comments.

@@idahomountainfamily8973 hopefully you made a hunter and gun lover for life I got into the guns back in the day when buying a gun was just like buying a candy bar my father was a ww ll vet and I'm in my seventies did six tours in the sixties in the Marines in Vietnam and I was into guns before I went into the Marines and I still have a love affair with them I currently own over 250 not exactly sure what number above without looking at my paperwork but I don't plan on getting rid of any and I've got a lot of old Winchester, Marlin, Colt, Smith's, Remington, Ithaca, savage 99s theirs a sweet little rifle the savage 99

I reload, I tried 58 gr vmax factory ammo, but I wanted better groups. It took a while to figure out what my rifle liked. I reloaded 58 grain vmax and still had 1-1.5 moa results. I decided to go heavier and that was the ticket. I've hear many .243s like 75 grain vmax, but I happened to find 65 grain and they shot nice little clover leaf groups with 39 grains of rl15. Since then I've shot coyotes from 30 to 500 yards with great results. 👍

Cost us $89 at Walmart. Much better than any other kayak for $300 or more.
