I’m a jazz drummer, and I’ve got everything but the 4th Tom (I have two or three usually) and the broken cymbals.
Broken cymbal is a must have!!!!

If you think you need a double kick pedal and a million toms, im sorry. All you need is skills. Sure, double bass makes playing fast a lot easier, but its not the only way.

You should only need to tune. Heads should last a lONG time. and the quality in sound in the before anf after are completely different.
Yes you are right! When I tuned my old heads they sounded good, but I use the drums in studio and I need better quality out of them, and the old heads would last for like 20 minutes, then I need to retune them!

My heads are like ten years old and I’m like if there aren’t holes I keep going😂😂😂… I could probably use new heads, but dam those “old” heads looked decent…
And they are pretty expensive nowadays!😅😅 I waited a long time to afford them and my wallet still didn’t like it.
