Rupturing Signals-- for trumpet, piano, drumset and electronics
มุมมอง 225ปีที่แล้ว
The inspiration for this composition project is to explore the electromagnetic signals that surround us but are not audible in everyday life. Humans emit electromagnetic radiation when making decisions or engaging in activities like driving or choosing what to wear. These brainwave activities alter the electromagnetic field (EMF) signals. I find it fascinating that these physical EMF signals ca...
hypothetical particles
มุมมอง 307ปีที่แล้ว
Hypothetical particles in physicals are particles that have not yet been proven to exist by observation. However, these phenomena are necessary for consistency within a given physical theory. In this piece, I explore the phenomenon through the interaction between light and sound particles. Amplitudes of the lights trigger changes in music, which reveal connections between the natural and synthe...

Flow-- for double bass and fixed media
มุมมอง 682 ปีที่แล้ว
Flow is for double bass and fixed media. As the title suggests, this piece attempts to blend different sound sources-sounds you expect to hear from the bass, sounds you don’t expect to hear from the bass, sounds generated outside of the basses into one continuous spectrum. Thanks to Will Kline for playing this live; and thanks to Bryan Bailey, whose playing appear in the fixed media.
Beneath the Stillness (for orchestra)
มุมมอง 1093 ปีที่แล้ว
Beneath the Stillness was originally written for a trio of clarinet, harp and percussion in 2019. I then orchestrated it into its current version in 2020. This piece is evocative of an otherworldly atmosphere that seems still and inviting. However, under the surface, the listener is thrown into moments of turbulence. I invite you to create your own imagination when listening to these contrastin...
Flip on, Airwaves
มุมมอง 303 ปีที่แล้ว
For Max MSP and Arturia MiniLab keyboard Flip on, Airwaves is an exploration of the sonic transformation and interaction within a collection of sounds such as the flip of a switch, and voices from the AM/FM radio. A switch can turn into typing or thunder, and voices become granulated glitches.
Water, Bowls and Rocks
มุมมอง 1334 ปีที่แล้ว
Electronic music with use of Wacom Tablet as a data-driven instrument. Program note: This piece explores the metamorphosis from recording simple actions of nature to the blanket of processed sounds. By using gestures on a Wacom drawing tablet which is driving data from Kyma, a single rock hit turns into thousands of horses galloping, and a single water drop becomes flexatones shaking.
sodelicious..........................
Anne, this is soo goood!!!
💞
Wow, this is truly a groundbreaking exploration of the unseen world around us! The concept of translating electromagnetic signals into audible compositions is mind-blowing, and your dedication to using sensors to capture the nuances of gadgets emitting EMF is commendable. The fragility and instability of these signals, influenced by the slightest sensor movement, add an element of unpredictability and excitement to "Rupturing Signals." It's amazing how you've managed to turn these invisible phenomena into a tangible auditory experience, showcasing the dynamic and ever-changing nature of the electromagnetic field. Kudos to the Splice Ensemble for commissioning such an innovative piece, and a big thank you to all the contributors involved in bringing this project to life. Looking forward to more groundbreaking musical explorations like this in the future!
Thank you so much for taking the time to listen to my music, and write such a thoughtful comment, Graeme! It means a lot to me.
