DL class locomotives 9089 and 9233 heading a northbound container train through Te Kuiti December 19. The fence was a little too high for a good angle.

Hornby TT:120 Club at RailEx 2024
มุมมอง 36121 วันที่ผ่านมา
How about this British scene created by the Hornby TT:120 Club? The UK offers a range of scenery from villages to towns to countryside. The age of many of the buildings means that a layout can support a wide span of eras and not look out of place. On a recent trip we saw the latest Class 800 Intercity trains and heritage Class 50’s on adjacent platforms along with several operating steam railwa...
Parklands County at RailEx 2024

Parklands County is an American HO scale DCC layout created by Rob and Lisa Read. Two mains, a nice mountain scene, two townships and some industry show what can be achieved in a small space. We really like this.
Club Teaching Layout update 3
มุมมอง 50521 วันที่ผ่านมา
The second of the club’s 8’ x 4’ teaching layout is having ballast applied. The first spray application is water with a little dishwashing liquid to break down the surface tension. That is followed by a dropper with a very dilute PVA glue and water mix. Drying time is a few hours - ideally overnight. This layout has had a base layer of colour applied so that there is texture up to and under the...
Club Teaching Layout update 2
มุมมอง 7521 วันที่ผ่านมา
Club members are applying some ‘rust’ to the rails on one of the 8’ x 4’ HO scale teaching layouts. The paint gun is a neat little battery powered unit - much quieter than using the full compressor. Rail heads were given an initial clean using a piece of scrap cork roadbed, which was also used to cover the turnout blades during spraying, before a final run over with a track cleaner. The paint u...
Marklin at RailEx 2024
มุมมอง 83828 วันที่ผ่านมา
The European Model Railway Club Manawatu’s Marklin layout is always a favourite at RailEx and other train shows. There are fascinating details everywhere you look, from tractors to cable cars to welders and much more. I suspect we even caught the hand of God in the last few frames.
Wairarapa Railway Modellers at RailEx 2024
มุมมอง 277หลายเดือนก่อน
Some layouts at RailEx operate true to prototype. Wairarapa Railway Modellers think that people ‘just want to see things run.” This scene on the North American modular layout demonstrates this philosophy, with a nicely detailed ScaleTrains GE ES44C4 in HO scale heading a short well-car container train. This is followed by a New Zealand ‘TranzRail’ DC class with a passenger consist. These operat...
3 Mile Bush Layout - RailEx 2024
มุมมอง 606หลายเดือนก่อน
Another New Zealand scene here. 3 Mile Bush is an On30 (1:48) scale layout. The builders of this bush logging era scene deserve much credit for the detail displayed. From their description board: “Bush railways were all over the country and a web of rail track covered the landscape deep into the forest… These rails and mills had by the 70s had pretty much disappeared.” The locomotives are proto...
Smallest Layout at RailEx 2024
มุมมอง 205หลายเดือนก่อน
Unless I missed one (and I might be guilty of having many-eyes), this is the smallest layout at RailEx 2024, Taita, Wellington. The locomotive is a classic small switcher/tractor that was used in industrial yards in New Zealand. The level of detail is just amazing.

Staging Track at RailEx 2024
มุมมอง 96หลายเดือนก่อน
The Wairarapa Railway Modellers modular layout exhibited at RailEx 2024 (Taitā, Wellington, New Zealand) has a four-road staging area ‘behind the scenes’. Here we can see an eclectic group of rolling stock: A Frateschi? NZR DC class loco (approx S scale), Scale Trains GE ES44C4 heading a well car container set and behind, a rake of Athearn ACF hopper, this last group out of Anna Capri used stock.

The Capital Model Railway Club exhibit at RailEx 2024 is a North American HO scale modular layout - and it’s huge! The level of detail and range of interesting effects is amazing. Always a firm favourite with visitors to the show.

Who makes the decals for the kiwi rail?
@@ShawnCalay a good question - I’ll check for you
@@annacapritrainsalways wanted to make some models for kiwi rail.
@@ShawnCalay have a look at the NZ120 Modeling group on Facebook. There’s a guy who makes decals. Hope that helps
nice .
this could easly be in the1920s or to 1960s where i live . i give this train scene 20 rings of the bell.
I just came across this video .... Subscribed!!!! 👍
Well done
What scale? What Manufacturer?
Hi Eric, that's HO scale and likely an early Athearn S2.
Sorry, Atlas
Nice Atlantic! It almost looks like if the NZR had commissioned a class of 4-4-2s with 60 inch drivers.
Awsome video
Waste of fuel top and tailing it. Much prefer single loco runnnings on this service
Ordinarily I might agree however every service now runs late due to speed restrictions, so any time saved at either end is good for commuters. It will be months before the track issues are resolved apparently: www.msn.com/en-nz/news/other/wairarapa-trains-delayed-for-months-due-to-track-error-wellington-trains-facing-more-heat-delays/ar-BB1ixkAl
lovely
🎉🎉🎉👍👍👍👍👍🤝🤝🤝💪🚂🚂👍
I honestly never even knew we had Atlantics here in South Africa, but this certainly is a beautiful model! The smoke looks quite interesting too!
Thats a nice engine, One question though. Why is ths smoke yellow?
The smoke was weird colors because that’s what the actual smoke does on engines when you add fresh coal and it is setting still or moving slowly owning and running a coal burner myself my engine will do the exact same thing. It’s just the nature of a coal burning steamer
@@ComerProductions193 That's nice. Thanks for telling me.
@@ComerProductions193 could also be the sulpher/ methane content being released from the coal as well.
@@zanegracie39 that as well
😊😊👍👍👍
Sounds like it’s DC but your trying to run it on DCC.
nice locomotive!
Looking good, the door 👍 🤠 👍
Nice
looks great looking forward to seeing more keep up the good work👍
Thanks Irene, time is always the biggest issue :)
Those red yellow and gray locomotives and the 2 light blue ones that you see 0:25 seconds of the video are made in Brazil by Frateschi
Nice.
Great rolling stock. Spend some money for scenery!
He will forget where he left his glasses.
Awsome Layout keep up The Nice Work.
awesome layout new sub.😊😊👍👍
amazing train. great space and layout :)
This looks like a Mantua 4-6-2. Does this loco have the small open frame motor directly geared to the axle, or the larger motor with separate gearbox? I repowered one of these with a larger open frame motor and gearbox and added some weight, and I was able to pull 36 cars with it on level track and it looked like it could've handled more.
Looks like it’s geared directly to the centre axle
@@annacapritrains Thanks!
Great Video, I love JA 1271, thanks for sharing
Look at that bugger go!
Are these PA units made by Athearn?
I think so - there's no branding under them however the frames look like Athearn
👊 ρгό𝔪σŞm
Very nice train :)
nice lookin train!
Very nice :)
Got news for you, that's not an Athearn Alco S4, it's a Fairbanks-Morse H12-44. Not sure if it's brass or not, but the only F-M Athearn made was the H24-66. Athearn never made Alco S series either.
thanks fmnut - looks like I was given bad info there. All updated now
@@annacapritrains well done!
Yes Pete, there’s a dodgy turnout in that corner. I’ll have to file it back to stop that. 2-axle trucks run nicely, 3-axle not so much 😢

Thanks! It's definitely a work in progress
Don't suppose you've a handrail set lying around for one of these. I picked one up 2nd hand and it's missing a few bits.
Hi - unfortunately not. We've checked all of our Details West stock and none to be seen.
Fantastic video😉👍️✨Very cool locomotive :)
