wow that beach driftwood beach is so stunning!
this is such a cute video! you guys are such a cute couple i love all the tips and tricks you guys share!
Thank you so much!!
Cool video. Thank you for showing our town in a good light. I really like it here. I grew up here, moved away after high school, returned in 2016, and really like being back. I don't think it's boring here. I mean, it's a slower pace, you can mosey around. :) Me, my wife and kids can always find something to do. Glad y'all enjoyed it!
We loved it there and would love to return one day. Thank you for sharing your experience as a resident there!
I'm going to guess that Matt is a Capricorn and Tat is a Pisces.
Matt is a Libra and Tat is a Cancer. Nice try. 🎆
Mark is soooo cute! ❤ Thank you for sharing this video of Abilene. I really want to move there. It seems like a nice, small town.
It really is! Thanks for watching.
The fact that you cannot flush toilet paper and don't have constant hot water may be due to your particular accommodation and not to Tijuana itself? I mean if you paid more could you not get a place without these issues?
@@tenminutetasks Well I understand paying more is not a guarantee however I guess it's more likely that the plumbing will be good if it's a more expensive area, cause the only reason why plumbing would be inadequate is lack of investment basically. Also if you had your own hot water tank or tankless heater then you should have constant hot water.
You're right. It is "more likely", but not guaranteed. We have stayed in over 26 countries, and it's quite common to throw toilet paper in the trash vs in the toilet in many parts of the world. There were hardly ever homes with running hot water. We're quite privileged here in the US, actually. My mom just replaced her countertops and kitchen sink and the plumber says he can only come by in a few days from now. So, we've been washing dishes in the bathroom sink and leaving them to dry in the bathtub. You work with what you've got, right? lol. Thanks for the engaging comment!
As an American living in Tijuana, i strongly recommend doing a life here just like a local, i do buy groceries in TJ in places like Soriana, El Florido, local Smart & Final and Walmart, i go to the movies at Cinepolis and Cinemex, visit the shopping malls like Plaza Galerias, Plaza Península, Paseo Chapultepec, Plaza Alameda, Macroplaza and visit the local parks such as Parque Morelos, also go to local coffee shops and restaurants, Tijuana is not just downtown or Avenida Revolución!!! City is huge! Let's use our dollars to help the TJ economy not just seeing this city as a dorm city.
Thank you for your insight!
All of those Florida cities and towns have their own personalities. But I can see Tallahassee being a favorite. I spent a summer there. People say the panhandle is like Alabama but Tallahassee is even different from the surrounding area.
It's a special place, we've come to realize! We've been living here for 2 years now and we still feel lucky to have found such a gem! ❤️ Thank you so much for commenting!
Looks great! What time of year did you visit?
It was in the summer, June of 2021.
When we lived there it was dry ,and there you guys are enjoying a drink !what would the Baptists say? Don`t do any dancing in public.
What does having a drink or dancing in public have to do with what the Baptists would say?
@@MileswithMorrisI was trying to be funny thinking you knew more than you did . I will fill you in .The area has a rep for being no fun they even made a movie about it called "Footloose" based on a real story of a rel town near Abilene .When I went to High School we had to rent a hall to have a dance that was off of school grounds because Dancing was against school board policy due to the Baptists influence also the town was dry back then since prohibition. . The really boring part is trying to date a girl who thinks that Jesus is watching every move you make and if you die you will go to hell for your thoughts all of this really happened to me from 1974 to 1978 when my Dad was stationed there.
@@Dwayne-mb2uj wow, that so interesting! Thank you so much for sharing! Well, we certainly need to spend more time with the local people and learn more about the history and culture of the area! Thank you for bringing this to our awareness, as we often travel and sometimes need to be reminded of this important part about it all.
Having said that, we're glad we didn't settle in an area known for being boring. Haha
@@MileswithMorris When we were teens we managed to have some fun after the old fossils who ran the town fell asleep at 8 30 you guys look like you are doing ok, you have a nice family.
Greenville South Carolina has a beautiful waterfalls right in the middle of downtown.I think it's a little south of Spartansburg.
Yes, we visited there and posted a video about Greenville if you'd like to check it out. Thanks for watching our videos and commenting!
I visited San Diego from Tampa Bay in Florida for the first time last week, pros - great weather first and foremost all year, nice scenery and beaches, great parks,,people were nice, good mass transportation systems with trolleys,we didn't rent a car there there and it got us around pretty well from the motel downtown.Con- The homeless situation there is awful especially downtown and even the airport which is overcrowded and dirty, the airports in Tampa and Orlando are much cleaner and spacious than San Diego with only 1 air strip. Expensive- very unaffordable housing even compared to Florida with the exception of Miami,Key West and a few other places.Tallahassee has a very reasonable cost of living compared to San Diego, the downside in Tallahassee are the hot and humid summers compared to San Diego.
Great insights! Thank you for sharing! 🙏
Amazing absolutely fabulous
Thank you for watching!
Your baby doing the little fake laugh is too cute
Thank you. We miss that laugh. It changes as he's growing.
Do you have a recommendation for a facilitator to help with getting the temporary residency?
I'm sorry, we don't! We'd recommend getting in touch with people on Facebook groups who reside in Mexico, as foreigners/expats. Good luck!
T-Mobil seems to have a little better coverage near the border but Cricket has free unlimited data
Thank you for sharing this helpful info!
@@MileswithMorris no worries I also forgot to mention Cricket is more affordable as well
Individuals like yourself are driving up the cost of living in Tijuana! Do you have residency in Mexico? Do you feel it's fair that this is causing the cost of living in TJ to go up for the locals? Instead of running away from the U.S. cost of living for a cheap alternative is quite frankly is sad. Your American citizens. Start fighting and standing up to our own corrupt government! The fall of the United States has already begun and citizens running away to other countries thinking the grass is greener on the other side is very miss leading.
We don't live there. We got a visa and stayed 180 days and left. We spent our money with the locals of Tijuana during the pandemic. We paid local prices. We respected the community and kept it clean.
Don't come to Tijuana, to many people and traffic everywhere :')
Fine, we won't. We don't like staying in traffic so we never owned a car in Tijuana. We walked everywhere and even walked across the border. We never had a problem with the traffic.
Best tip..... Stay in the USA. Thanks. Sincerely yousr. Tijuana Native.
We live in the USA. Thanks for your tip.
I was born and raised in Taos and I’m convinced it’s cursed or something’s not right there the bridge you guys crossed over has had over 200 suicides. In the past year 10 of my classmates have passed away due to accidents and overdoses. Not to mention the witchcraft that goes on in the Pueblo and the skin walkers. Something evil is in Taos but it didn’t always used to be that way. You guys made the right choice
Thank you for your comment! We feel like we made the right choice too. Although we do hope that Taos gets better.
I grew up here, went to Dolores elementary. Very kind people.
That's awesome. It's a special place to grow up!
Nice family video
Thank you!
Congratulations!!! 🎉 How amazing!
Thank you! 🙏 💕
Looking forward to Part II

Aww. That's our favorite part too.
So happy you guys found home
Thank you! ❤️
nice video
Thank you!
Congratulations when baby expected?
Thank you. He was born 2 years ago. September 10th. 😀
Yes a 5 minutes drive with up to 4 hours waiting in line up with other vehicles
That's why we recommend getting a Global Entry card.
Tais also has one of the highest crime nations of any city or town in the USA. It's a tiny town but car burglaries house burglaries theft are a huge problems because of all of the nomads there.
Wow, we didn't know that. We are happy we chose another place to live.
Did you guys end up moving here ? I’m considering it!!!
We didn't! We kept moving and found a better fit for our family. We like it a little more humid and a little bigger of a city than Abilene. We'd love to go back and visit though!
Frostproof Florida surrounded by 2 lakes is a cool place to visit if you ever get back to Florida.
Thank you for the suggestion! We live in Florida now so we will look into that place.
We miss you guys so much!!
Nice road trip.
Looks like a nice town!
Your son is adorable! Can you share the names of stroller & carrier you’ve used for your travels? You’ve done so much travelling with your baby. That’s awesome! I’m hoping to visit Nola in June with my 6 month old baby.
