Just returned from 5 days in Venice it's over run by thousands of tourists following umbrellas, Venice is overrated there is very little you can see because of the crowds ( i know of which I was one) even without the crowds I would say there is not much to see even architecturally and every cafe is a tourist rip off ! e.g. 200 Euros for a frozen farmed sea Bass done in the oven, If you are extremely lucky you will get a cafe with clean toilets but probably not. Venice is a tourist trap a self promoting Disney world full of hype on the edge of an industrial city a lot of the cafe and shop owners are not from Venice but have paid handsomely to get the ticket in the lottery to open a shop or cafe. It's not even that old when it comes to a European city. Still it's one of the places you have to visit during your lifetime even if only to boast to your friends you where on the Rialto bridge which incidentally is pretty new when it comes to a bridge in Europe ,Florence has a more beautiful bridge 300 years older!

@@jamescardoness3037 hi! Yes, it can definitely feel overrated if there's a ton of people. There's been a lot of news stories about over tourism this summer. I think we lucked out by going in summer 2023 during ferragosto when there were fewer tourists. I still think Venice has a very unique water / canal esthetic and history amongst the world destinations, and it's worth a visit for anyone who enjoys traveling. Thanks for your thoughts!

Hi! We bought the ferry tickets way in advance. We bought a "day pass" ferry ticket from Como to Bellagio, so we had flexibility on when to board. The last relatively fast ferry from Bellagio to Como leaves around 5pm when we were there. We took the train from Como station back to Milan, but I believe there's also a train station from Varenna that goes to Milan. That might be a better option.

Hi! Thanks! I agree with you. I have a habit of comparing any experience I have with other experiences I've had, and in a short video like this, it's difficult to give context to my comments. We really enjoyed the hike that day and would highly recommend it, but the mist trail is less memorable because of all the "man made" steps it has. As I climbed all the steps, I couldn't help but think that I'm not in a natural area. It felt more "staged" vs the JM trail and other trails we've hiked (even though most trails are basically "man made").
