This is false. If you want the real story, relativity suggests that passing of time as we know it is only percieved time. We don't know if light travels faster in one direction compared to any other, and we will never know because of the way we percieve the world (edit: it's not a matter of knowing, the question makes no sense to begin with) If you try to measure speed of light in two different directions you end up having to synchronize two clocks, but moving them appart once synchronized (or back together) will trigger an expansion that will make it look like light travels the same speed both ways. And the conclusion of the theory often is "why would it even matter? Either way, it's not possible to get an answer to this question so the easiest modelisation of the universe is to say light goes as fast every direction, and we call that specific speed c. Nothing has been observed quicker than c. The rabbit hole goes so deep that we're flirting with the definition of reality, since everything including light is just something we percieve, and there is no such thing as absolute truth What you are saying is not the same thing at all, you're saying "if we can go faster than light" but relativity and time/distance expansion suggests you cannot go faster than light.
