Complete and total Trash. Does not work for me. Comes with no instructions. No indication of which way the ribbon cable is correct. Most SSD's don't seem to work at all with it. Avoid this at all cost. Wait for something better. Geekworm should do better. I would have done a longer review but didn't want to waste any more time on something that doesn't work at all.

Would it be possible to flash the Nvidia shield firmware?
Should be. It's on the supported list. I don't have a device to test though.
damn..... This might be the way. we just need a thunderbolt port, for docking, like throwing multimonitors at it.
Why keyboard tho when using a controller
No reason, it's just on my desk. You can get to the app and open it with just the controller.
Call of duty is 2 version. Is this what you play. And other version war zone like console and pc. And devil may cry is nice😊 this version. Yeah dont have stroy mode. Diablo mobile i dont try😅
I really wanted to do this but the Google services thing didn't work
I didn't have any problems. I followed konstakang's guide. First flashed the os. Then from android downloaded MindTheGapps. Rebooted in TWRP recovery. Installed that. Then went back to android, launched google play, logged in and installed minecraft. that was it.
Thanks for another great video 📹 brother!!
Also yes, MullvadVPN is what i would say the only anonymous VPN out there.. The other ones have history of lying and giving records to the authorities.. Records they promised where not kept :P Recently the Swedish FBI or whatever the equivalent is started raiding Mullvads office, to which their lawyer halted them and unvalidated their search warrant. Since the warrant was based on storing personal information to which the lawyer could dismiss since they could prove that they had no data what so ever saved. Meaning there was nothing to confiscate except hardware. The Raid got cancelled. This is how i remember the article.. Either way, this is not how for example PIA handled their warrant.. they just handed over logs to the feds.. Logs they claim didn't exist x'D
TLDR; Wireguard is MIIILES more efficient and thereby faster than OpenVPN or L2TP or whatever else... It wont drain your phone or laptop. Long story long: After years of just using unifies teleport VPN, which i suspect uses openvpn under the hood, i finally configured the wireguard server in their UI. I dont think they finished the wireguard implementation until recently, not sure. Everytime i was working on my super efficient Macbook M3 pro, i could see that the wifiman app (ubiquitis VPN utility app) was consuming so much power becaue iwas streaming YT videos and other things while also working remotely in my home lab.. I was bothered at how fast my battery was dipping.WHY?! I can freaking Play arma 3 on it with reasonable battery drain... But just using this VPN drains it almost as fast?! Now that i use wireguard vpn instead, not only is the network speed basically as close to as native speeds but my battery percentage literally does not move while watching YT and working in a terminal.
I personally use Tailscale, Ive used wireguard before and I prefer tailscale it just works all i need to do is, use mobile hotspot from my phone to my laptop or any device, and it just works wonderfully.
We are going to carry phone, laptops will still exist and phone sales will boom again if implemented properly. For example not only for tv or a monitor, you have a Android phone and you have a Windows pc or Linux and you just plugged your phone into the already existing laptop and able to run Android desktop Os and also Windows or Linux and you can share between them like interconnection, it will both win win situation for google and Microsoft. It's okay that Microsoft is jealous of Google success in consumer market or Monopoly whatever, if just only understand business, you can't stay long, it will be for a short period of time. Now Huwawei within 5 years will comeback strongly in International Market and then what? Android vs Harmony Os Next or Huwei vs at the end rotten apple Inshallah
Are you running the Batocera download for the Pi 4 or are you using the file for the Pi 5, bc according to the Choose A Single Board documentation page the 5 is still in beta. I'm actually considering the 4 bc of this but seeing the GameCube running makes me reconsider getting a 5 instead. So which file did you use, and does the GC need any special settings to run properly?
Get the pi 5. Just use the beta image.
Happy 2025! Btw, did you see Megapixels reached 2.0.0 Alpha? Unified codebase for all phones now, seems pretty good, but didn't test it myself.
bruh coming from ur pinephone video and I don't understand point of the phone at all. How can phone that looks like something from 20 years ago be worth for 400$? Definitely not for me but why do people buy it.
This is the first phone I've had that supports dex mode. While I would love a linux phone that actually works all my pine phones broke before they became daily driverable.
Minecraft works with keyboard and mouse too.. the only game I found that natively support keyboard and mouse (on Android)
Cod mobile is mainly against bots unless it's ranked mode. There might be 1 or two real people upu actually go against Also, emulation is pretty good on these phones
How
Specially with the move to ARM, it just makes sense to create devices that can take advantage of the larger real estate of monitors.
I'm currently running RetroPie on a RPi 4, and it can almost run N64. Has major stuttering and lagging. If I upgrade to a RPi 5, do you reckon that'll be enough or is Batocera just a lot more optimized than RetroPie from the get-go?
rpi5 is pretty solid for n64 emulation. n100 mini pcs are pretty cheap too though and will perform better. If you just use a sd card and get the 4 gig version its a good deal for n64. If you end up buying a ssd for it and the 8 gig model the price starts to not make a lot of sense. A used steam deck is around 200$ and is gonna be able to do everything a lot better.
Just get a used Thinkcentre mini PC with a ryzen 2200 or 3200 CPU/GPU. Plays PS2 / dreamcast for under $70
I went straightforward with steamOS as it is already arch linux. It works really smooth as workstation
@serlofer I needed chinese input support and there was no way to do that in steamOS because its an immutable version of arch. But if steamOS does all you need that's great.
steamdeck already run arch os
@@xbright0976 a immutable version that has some limitations
I've been wasting time in Minetest (now Luanti) for a while and am surprised how much easier it runs. It starts up faster, it runs on everything, and it doesn't crash as much. Not as much happening with it, I play mostly Mineclonia, which is a minecraft clone, and it doesn't have as much, but just to waste time and build it's good enough.
Does it passthrough or bitstream the audio?
I was looking into installing Arch on my Steamdeck. Do all the buttons work on the desktop? Just like how it works in desktop mode on SteamOS?
Was there any specific configurations you made in the installer? Any additional packages or whatever, or just basic EndeavourOS?
Nothing special. I did the online endeavour installer with kde. lcd model seems to have all the drivers in kernel
@@wolffurprogramming I see you use an external display. Did you ever encounter any issues with it failing to load into the display manager? As in, pass the bootloader, but not get into the login screen and it just shows black. My brother and I both used vanilla Arch on our Decks (we hated SteamOS), and we often encountered this specific issue, requiring sometimes several restarts to hit our login screens (occasionally happened for me on SteamOS, as well). Also, what does Erase Disk do in the installer? Does it create separate home and root partitions, or is it only root and no home? If it is separate, is the root partition sizable enough?
@@apexshadow8216 Sometimes in steamos I've had to do a hard restart because it isn't displaying. I have not noticed any display issues in Arch. I first manually erased the internal hdd. Then I set it to install on the whole disk using swap to file. So there was not separate partitions for system and applications. I just tar up my home directory on my nas every now and then to back it up.
Is this for the OLED Model or just the LCD? I had issues with my OLED with any distro besides Nobara. WiFi and sound wouldn't work.
It's for the lcd model. Perhaps the drivers aren't mainlined for the oled model.
how's the battery life vs steamOS?
While in game, it seems pretty similar. I keep it plugged up most of the time.
That's a real nice Windows wallpaper you got there 1:14 😆
Lol. The reflection from my real windows does look that way doesn't it?
What edition of bazzite did you choose?
@@wikwayer I used the home theater version
Morrowind is all i need. Nice.
i want to try bazzite and ditch windows but nvidia gpu won't run gamescope
Nah can’t wait until Apple is serious with gaming. Better OS and experience.
Maybe by then your grand kids will be old enough to play with you.
Not sure about that. Just switched from Apple to Linux for laptop use and i wish i had done it from the jump. so many options for customizing , you make it your own system. I built mine for 2 reasons. 1. watching shows/movies and 2. studying...... so much better than Mac after i customized it to my liking
Just can't agree with that.... especially when you can have something like gnome in tandem with steamos Bazzite is among the best OSs out there. Really Hard to knock on it especially if you are a gamer. The pre shader cache is a godsend for MK!
Apple and better operating systems doesn't go hand in hand
Does Steam OS support packages like vim and emacs? I don’t have a steam deck yet but I have seriously looking into picking one up. I plan on using it as for gaming and some light side projects.
Steam os has vim preinstalled. You can install the flatpak version of emacs but it's kinda annoying. If you use it more as a pc and need a lot of system packages that you will use in the termal or asian language support I suggest using endevourOS to get arch up and running. But if most of what you want is available as a flatpak then steamos is fine and you can use it as is.
If you want more freedom to install packages without SteamOS resetting everything after an update, install CachyOS instead
Just use Archinstall XD
If you want to better understand the reasons for long boot times try running "systemd-analyze" and "systemd-analyze blame"
That's pretty cool bro. I don't have a steam deck but I do like Arch and Emacs.
You've delivered that last line: "and it's actually running Windows executables" with such finality haha.
Wolf fur programming video! Been a long time, my friend
Btw: we need more handheld PCs running SteamOS/Bazzite/Linux distros in general ASAP.
Can't get bios to work for n64 or gamecube
@@lawrenceroadloonie3847 those two don't need bios files
Was this done with a overclocked pi 5?
You install any themes? I'm disappointed in pixels lack of features.
What’s your GameCube settings because super Mario sunshine is low fps for me
Okay so first off the R-Pi 5 is obviously not meant to be a gaming PC at least not for 3D graphics but here's the gist of it: Minecraft runs slower not only because it's Minecraft and the coding quality is lower than on Minetest, but also because it's java. Most likely Bedrock edition will run faster. If you insist on playing java, use openj9 jdk instead of the official Oracle jdk. I've tested most jdk's and this one seems to give the best performance. Also, use custom java args for optimised garbage collection, there's tons of guides online. Then, try a bit of a lower resolution. I think there's ways to run it full-screen but with lower resolution. Also, give it less RAM. For a single player Minecarft world with no content mods, 1 or 2Gb of RAM would be enough. This makes garbage collection run faster. After that, probably install fabric and sodium along with any other performance mods you would want. There's a modpack called Fabulously Optimised that does just that. It's vanilla Minecraft but very optimised. For Minetest there's not much I can say. It just runs better, consistently. I prefer playing Minetest by far, I have more fun, I consider the tech mods there to be better, I prefer their worldgen, I prefer their caves, I enjoy being able to dig 30k blocks down and build cave cities, and I enjoy using the space exploration mod I helped program which generates tonnes of new worlds on the 60k+ vertical axis this massive game offers. For Veloren I wouldn't recommend playing it on a R-Pi at all. At least not yet. It's still a very young project. For all these games and more I do recommend using them to run servers. The R-Pi seems to be very capable for this purpose. I will try installing an OS with no graphical interface, only a terminal, and probably not even connect a keyboard to it and just SSH into the Pi. Then I'd just use that to run my servers in as optimal an environment as possible. I will get the R-Pi 5 delivered to me next week to test these things.
Try openmw
Pretty sure that is openmw. It worked pretty well on the RPi4, except when the storms would spawn.
I would like to see the android compatibility layer please
can i install sdk tensorrt, cuda ,opencv on lineage os ?
Turn Vsync off and set the max framerate to unlimited, graphics to fast, clouds off, 8 or 5 chucks of render render distance and 5 of simulation distance
All I see him is clicking the screen 3 times to get a response, constantly.
Plan on doing this for use with my crt monitor. Can’t wait.
Thanks for the demo, are you running the 8g or 4g pie?
8gig
could you try using a gpu with the pi maybe then it would run a lot smoother because i feel like the pi suffers more because of graphics then actual cpu power
I don't have the tools for that. It's not easy to attach a gpu
@@wolffurprogramming yeah ive seen it myself now a dissappointment but what should one do still thanks
