Quest For Tacos

This is all about our quest for tacos, and of course, other foods. I intend to visit every taco truck in Bakersfield, or anywhere else I travel. We'll also review brick and mortar establishments, or just sit in the yard eating and drinking strange things. If you have a request for us to try something unusual, let us know, we're open to suggestions. If you have a favorite taco truck or restaurant, give us a shout, we'll try to get there and review it. If you want to be a guest reviewer, and try out some strange things or a restaurant, leave a comment on a video. We're basically out to have fun and try things.
Jollibee in Bakersfield!
Neither of us had ever been to a Jollibee, and I didn't even know it was a Filipino kind of place. But I know I like Filipino fried chicken, and a lot of other items from that part of the world, so we gave it a try. Spaghetti with Banana Ketchup, Palabok, and some REALLY good fried chicken. Of course, we don't want to forget the pie! Little fried pocket pies, mango and peach. Very good! The chicken was tender and juicy, and it's all legs and thighs! Our favorite! This one is located in Bakersfield, on Stockdale, very easy to get to, plenty of parking.
The people behind the counter were very nice, and helpful, which is really good when you're looking at a menu with things you're not familiar with. Hector took his time explaining all the different items. The place was sparkling clean, and we noticed that we were the only ones in there that weren't Filipino. That usually means good food, when a place attracts people from the country they're representing. Yeah, we'll be back!

I heard a lot about this place, and it was all good. So we had to go. And it was all true! Ribeye, carnitas, pork belly, pastor, chorizo, even mashed potato tacos! Fairly new restaurant here in Bakersfield, with breakfast all day, lunch and dinner. It was early afternoon, but we both got breakfast. Well, not actually walking, but scooting along on my knee cart, so my feet don't hurt so bad at the end of the day. Either way, I've never seen so many beautiful cars in one place at one time. Lots of lowriders, classics, both cars and trucks. The paint jobs are truly astonishing. The pride in ownership is evident with ALL the vehicles.

Interesting factoid. Today, I got a message from TH-cam that they had removed this video because of nudity, pornography, or sexual content. So I came to check it out, and here it is, just as it had been. I had already responded that I would contest the removal. Maybe they don't like Elvira?

It's hard to pick a favourite.
There was so much to choose from, and that was with almost half of the trucks closed. And, of course, you want to try EVERYTHING!

And they open at 4 a.m. so I can stop in after dropping Kat at the airport for one of her business trips. I never expected anyplace so good would be open that early. Got to get all those construction guys on their way to work, huh?
Remember when we used to go to that whole-in-the-wall restaurant named “Lindy’s” in Buena Park? They had great biscuits and gravy and the friendliest waitress. 👍🏻😀
