AS A YOUNG MOTHER I THOUGHT MY LIFE WAS OVER UNTIL I MET MIRROR OF HOPE
Nolda who is one of our sponsored student undertaking bachelors in civil enegineering, has undergone a lot of challenges since her early years. She got pregnant at the age of 16years due to curiosity as ayoung girl which led to her dropping out of high school. Her mother due to dissapointment decided that she will never go back to school. But because of the thirst to continue studying she decided to look for scholarships opportunities which some denied her the opportunity due to the fact that she was having a kid.
One day she had about Mirror of Hope and decided to give it a try and luckily the staff there gave a listening hear and decided to give her a second chance and that meant hope for her and her child for the future.
That`s what Mirror of Hope is, A place of Hope for the vulnerable people living in the slums of Kibera.

The holiday program is one of the pillar programs at the Mirror of Hope. The program provides a safe haven to our students against the challenges that they face while away from school during their holidays. The children are provided with breakfast and lunch that they rarely find back at home. They are also provided a safe environment to play and interact with positive people through mentorship....

It has been 6 months of learning for our young mothers. They have been to learn how to make clothes of different designs including shirts, trousers, dresses African bag packs, laptop bags and Bomba jackets. This could not have been possible without the help of foundation le Pont and Edmund Rice Foundation Australia.

TAILORING CLASSES ON THE RUN | INSPIRING YOUNG MOTHERS

We are so excited that our tailoring classes have commenced and the young mothers are able to learn how design different clothes and designs. It is a platform that is rare in the slum of Kibera but for us here, we decided to create the platform for them to learn something that will change their lives and be able to make their future good for them and their children.
