Gus is a senior duck, who isn't doing very well. We are trying everything we can. He has the very best vet care, but he is having a rough time. I thought a ride on the water might make him perk up a bit. In his current state, he can't be on the water with the flock, so we went for an afternoon canoe! He seemed genuinely happy for while, then it was time to go back to the house...lol
Update on Gus the Duck

After 2 months in the house, Gus is still battling an infection. With increased antibiotics and care we're doing everything we can for him. As an older duck, it doesn't look great.... but we're doing the best we can or him.

It's cold in Canada in December! This wasp was found crawling slowly across the floor. I'm sure it doesn't have a long life ahead of it, but it very much enjoyed a plate of sugar water.

Brave the bun has been with us since he was a few weeks old. His teeth are crooked and he has trouble eating. What a beautiful man. I'm assuming he's a mallard, is it typical for them to lose their color in old age?
Gus was a Saxony, a super sweet old guy. ♥️. He died yesterday. 😥. It was good for him to have one last float out there.

And to actually answer your question...lol...yes! They change colour as the age. They have a spring and fall molt, so they can also change a bit season to season. :)

Wow, I can't believe the level of ineptitude these days. The only agreed apon, true pest at the barbecue, and this person saves it.
Wasps are good creatures despite their loathesome reputation, I can't blame them for being the way they were made. I haven't had much trouble with wasps as long as I kept my food & drink moving around, if I'm not threatening them by swiping at them, they do not come after me. Although they can get caught up in long hair and panic, so if your hair is long likely tie it up when eating wasp-friendly food outside. Unless they're invasive, if they're invasive get out the scissors. or if you're a beekeeper, bees do not work well under wasp raids.
