This year i ended up doing better than my previous year. Last year i had zero in the bank account despite working my ass off, this year i managed to save 10k which is a lot for someone like me, not great but its a start and a sign that perhaps next year things will be better.
Thank you for sharing what you learn Mike. Utilizing all of your business data to find lower profit areas of business revenue and then sharing this information is incredibly helpful for us.

I'm sorry, but people are making lawn care too complicated. You do not need all those things in place when u are that small. Iv ran my business for over 15 years, had up to 12 employees, and never needed anything like jobber or secretary's or admins. In my mind, that's just plum lazy. That's why these guys get ripped off they have no idea what's going on in their own business. Lawn care companies like this the owner needs to be hands-on all the time. Stop wasting money on getting these apps or co-pilot, automation they don't need it. Love ur videos, but the best advice you can give this guy is to be 100% involved in his business he does not need any admin. SMH
Not true. you need time to bid jobs and take care of non hands on work also admin /efficiency apps or systems in place otherwise you’re doing it until midnight every day after work.
@aboveaveragejoe6795 i serviced 251 yards, ran 2 crews, and did it all with any help. You guys just make things too complicated. If running 30 guys 500+ lawns, then I can where this would be beneficial. Most of you guys have a few workers, and you think you need all these systems in place. Remember, running a business is not easy, and it takes a lot of hours. That's problem these days nobody wants to put in the work and that's why these businesses fail.

@@lopezlawntreecare6477 I'm not in lawncare but watching these people running a lawn care business like its a tech startup is insane. Just get out there get as many jobs as possible and build it up.
Imagine how much bigger your company would have been over a 15 year period if you had those systems in place to help run your business. We were bigger inside of 3 years than the numbers your speaking of because of systems and processes. Technology is definitely a game changer when competing against businesses that are living in the past using pen and paper or a simple spreadsheet.

ive been cutting and doing projects on the weekend while commercial mowing/plowing full time for someone else the last 2 seasons. been binging your videos for a couple weeks now mike. you've got me hyped and feeling more than ready to drop part time and grow my business next season. goal of 25k revenue next season to prove my to myself i can do it, then jump both feet forward

I’ve been enjoying the coaching calls videos! You should post more of those! I haven’t watched the extended versions of the turnarounds because I feel that I already got the value when I watched the turnaround video. I also tend not to watch the ones with copilot because I have a feeling that the objective is to sell copilot on that video. Just a quick feedback in case anybody commented that before :)

Awesome. But I'm confused about one can pay just the interest and after the 5 years you now own the principal? Is this interest only loan? Wouldn't the principal still be owed to the bank?
Hey Lloyd, so basically you own it in the sense that you have fully paid the 10% interest on the loan or whatever the rate is and now it’s just the principle moving forward so its the same as taking money and moving it into a different account. It’s just a Wash. That why it wont show on the P&L sheet
He is in his own world 🌎. Thats entrepreneurship thou. Sometimes its like that. You can tell his brain is somewhere else..

I’ve been acting out a plan to get a lawn company started for almost 3 months. Getting everything situated, studying, found a partner to fund marketing with business experience, learning about marketing, getting a professional website with good SEO & financing for all the equipment needed to outfit a 1-2 person trailer is ready once we reach the level we need it. What are 2 key points or non negotiable you would incorporate if you started all over from day 1 with the 5 year plan being opening multiple locations? Close ratio? I’ve been at it for 3 weeks with a push mower and Kombi system, 1500 door hangers and 13 total clients but only 9 recurring from that. 1 guy said I wasn’t professional enough bc I didn’t have a trailer and big mower, and he owned 3 accounts and one of my clients just sold their house. I want to grow fast but I want to grow right too.
The advice and discussion on this podcast from minutes 26 through 36 are absolute gold! 🏆The rest of it's really good but that segment in particular is extremely valuable advice if you're wanting to grow big.💪

26:51 Is that advice compatible with your general plan of getting a location to 500-800K (I forget the exact number) with a gm in profit mode and then start another location somewhere else or are the two paths mutually exclusive?
He scales his locations past $1.5M I find $800K-$1.5M as the chasm of profitability since a 2nd and 3rd overhead worker is usually required
