I have a 1971 Chevelle, performance 454. It currently has a 600cfm summit vacuum secondary carb on it. I also have a new, past warranty, 750 cfm Edelbrock that does not work right. My intake is a 7561 Edelbrock Perfpormer RPM Air Gap. What is the CFM of that carburetor and will it bolt to the Edelbrock intake?

It needs love in the ignition timing advance dept and more initial advance as well and why straight pipe uggg mufflers are not that expensive

i always did like the old quadrajet carbureteurs ive know peopke that had them and never needed so nuch as an adjustment you used to be able to buy over size jets to give your motor more power or a spread bore carbureteur i like to hear them moan !!! 👍👍

I appreciate you keeping the qjet. I read an old magazine article about qjet vs Holley. The Holley was down a little to the qjet. Holley could’ve bought the qjet like edelbrock did. Holley did have a qjet replacement in vacuum and double pump.

Have this same combo. The fogs give a very wide light beam and the lux is fantastic. Wouldn't want to have it any different.

Nice! Had the same deal happen 3 years ago at work. Decent fuel pressure, koeo. Pinched the return line off after priming, still dropped. NO fuel wash visible inside intake. Set up a gauge before filter, prime system (with return still clamped) clamped line after filter, still dropped. (Check valve in pump) replace pump, koeo prime attempt start eng hydro locked... Injector assy bleeding fuel due to pump check valve now sealing proper. New "spider assy" & pump fixed er' up.

It bothers me you didn’t remove the weights lol and for next time you can lightly sand the clear before applying stripper helps to penetrate and work faster

Not to sound like all of the other comments, but this video saved my butt. My 1999 Tahoe 5.7 vortec just stopped all of the sudden and wouldn't start. I checked the battery connections, charged the battery, and then replaced the starter, but it still wouldn't turn over...this didn't make any sense to me. The transmission wasn't holding the pressure plate and the engine wasn't mechanically seized...why wouldn't it spin? Then I saw this video, sniffed the dipstick (smelled like gas), took it back to the shop who had worked on my intake 7 months prior (they had installed a new spider gear), stated my case, defended against their initial pushback, and guess what, they drained it, refilled the oil and put in new spark plugs, installed a new spider gear (under warranty and hopefully they did it right this time) and it started right up (and at no additional cost to me). I was just about to think about scrapping this truck, and now she's back to running like a top.

This is why they say to always get acdelco. Granted, spider injectors from them are around 700 bucks compared to FJ504-style chinese spider injectors coming in around 180-200. That's the only reason I haven't done the conversion yet

I had that happened to me i 😢 i freaked out but i have a 94 chevy c1500 5.7 throttle body tbi i rebuilt was doing fine then it started flooding over had a weird noise coming from the injectors put air cleaner to see were it was coming from then noticed it just pouring fuel outa the injectors then i tred start it it tryed then lock up i was like oh hell no i was freaking out then i pulled fan shald off and pulled all the plugs and gas just pourd out then i cranked it by hand with a wrench and it broke free plus i dumped alittle tranny fluid in each of the plug holes think goodness i didnt change oil yet

I know some of you just like to switch things up but there were a lot of design hours that went into this Gen 2 truck and when they came out they sold like hotcakes, that truck has one beautiful rugged front end already , I got a 95 2500 V-10 I leveled the bumper up put a new grill with headlights and I did paint the whole bumper black don't like the old gray it's just one good looking front end on these old trucks.
