Excellent, thanks for posting this! 🥰
I got to meet Evan in a record store in Rockville MD of all places. He was so cool! He commented on a Stevie wonder song that was playing. Then he said I’m about to play an acoustic performance. He recommended me to get up close because he would be using no amplification. Awesome set he played!
You’re fucking crazy, there was a Lot of shitty music back then. This might have been one of those bands
Dave had such great taste in bands.
OMFG.
When I was 22.
Summer of 93, turned 16. Had some incredible music coming out everyDAY! Like literally fr Sep91-Sep95? An epic new album bye some cool band EVERY WEEK
"Peace, dammit!"
It's a shame about how terrible this band sounds 😞
Oh, to be young and beautiful again....
Letterman made a great decision with picking this song.
love that song!!!
That's the Letterman drummer playing. The actual drummer must've been fuming . Great performance, however.
My theme song for the 90’s. I jammed it SO many times with many different people and bands. Acoustic and electric.
There is a bad guy in this band
Haven't seen a CD long box in forever. Wonder if Dave still has all his CDs, if he got 'em signed or if he gave them away to staff. Attended a few Letterman tapings way back. Two old studio, one at Ed Sullivan theater, one anniversary show at Radio City Music Hall. Roy Orbison performed during one.
The guitar work on this album is sadly underrated.
David Letterman, the best. Great song, great band.
Evan became what Costello lost.
I dont understand why they wouldnt do their own song , history has decided 🙂
The early 90s was like no other experience, just pure magic.😊
Evan Dando quite good, Shannon Hoon much better
❤❤❤❤
AAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY... I wonder if Henry Winkler likes this song.
1992= one of the BEST years ever!!
Ha, I met their manager (think he was their manager at one point anyway) at Taang records in San Diego... He was the owner of the place at the time. Dude was such a pretentious asshole. Remember I tried to buy a CD of Revolver, and he made a big deal of how I got a hold of the copy, like it was a mistake that it was out on the floor... I mean a CD version mind you, not sure how this copy of the Beatles' Revolver could've been worth anything. Anyway, the guy sucked, and probably still sucks. That said, Taang Records was pretty cool and the employees were great, and underpaid
I miss guys with long hair...
Good live version. Evan got caught up in the moment and elevated his vocal performance to the moment. Any back story as to why Dave Ryan wasn't drumming on this? Seconding the house band into layering acoutstics over the SG & Mashall fleshed out the sound much like the album version. Paul Shaffer clearly loving life getting out from behing his keyboard set up.
"you're just the guy to give it to me" the right answer to Dave questioning the way he dresses.
Great band, great song. It’s held up so well into late 2024. I wish my kids would have this kind of music to grow up with like I did!
I forgot how good these where, this is a good live performance
there's always been a current of hateful/smartass in Dave that i despise
Brings me back to my college radio days...when this came out i had a roommate named Ray, this became his song...WNYO rocks.
1:00
Who is Ray?
I think I still have this cd. Good stuff.
I didn’t know Paul played guitar!!
This is why the 90s were dope. On a random Tuesday night you could turn on Letterman or Conan and sometimes even the Tonight Show and get a band like this playing live in your living room. F_ckin' magic.
Wow! I owned this album on CD and had the Mrs Robinson cass-single.
Such a good song that will always be a good song till the end of time 🎸
I always thought if he was the lead singer for the Smithereens, they would have been the biggest band in the land.
It's a shame about the GOP. They are going completely nuts.
Evan Dando stoned out his fuckin’ gourd.
This band, in my opinion, got lucky. Definitely a studio band. And that's because Evan really isn't very good live.
Agree, awful..
Evan Dildo
Always loved this song.
I name my oldest son Evan in honor of Evan Dando. No regrets.
Probably won’t be popular with the people in this comments section but this reminds me a lot of oasis in some ways
Matched Letterman on the sarcasm scale! (Great music, too!)
Letterman is a douche
