Yes. All of the above ;) Ice Armor is stronger now with some buffs that they have made. It still isn't as good as many of the top performers but definitely no where near as bad as it was. Ice melee is a decent tanking set but melee sets dont make or break many armor sets. Id put Ice melee near the top of "defensive" melee sets.

Dark/dark is just fine and works well with each other both having a complementary powers for hp and end. I just enjoy the challenge and creativity for a concept when mixing different primary/secondary sets. Absolutely nothing wrong with same/same toons

For controllers id go with dark/fire/plant/earth/gravity as they have control powers that are group and fast recharge. As for a defender or corr, I'd go with sonic/beam/dark/psychic blast

To me, damage toggles dont do much damage unbuffed and giving some damage boost from IOs is nice, it just won't go up a whole lot. Damage procs have a PPM (proc per minute) which is their limit to how many times it will trigger within the minute. Ex. 4PPM means 4 times with an internal cooldown of 15 secs per proc. Having multiple in a power just means having multiple spike of damage every now and then, either all at once or separate since procs have different PPM intervals. Purple procs do 102 damage and rares do 71 which gives 173 extra damage every x seconds to an an enemy with only 2 procs. Set bonuses are nice and important but I try and make builds with proc auras

How so? Grounded gives 5 things: energy resistance, negative resistance, end drain resistance, immobilize protection, knockback protection(only while on the ground). Energy resistance is capped without even trying without grounded Negative resistance barely anything at all End drain resistance is capped without grounded Immobilize is given by combat jumping so don't need grounded Knockback is given through 2-3 IOs (based on class for importance) This means that you lose a power slot for something else is being used to get like 15% negative resistance and nothing else

It's an opinion and never really found use for it in pve even with combining it. The time it takes to cast, the time it takes to recharge, and the loss of a power slot always discouraged me from grabbing

Stephen Heltsley you biggest damage skill is assassins strike from hide, if your on a big AV fight and you use placate your gonna do so much more damage

But by the time you cast placate and the animation time of AS while hidden is so slow that a normal damage rotation of powers that equal the same animation time will do more damage

I'm currently playing destiny 2. Streaming and youtube fell off due to RL and covid. I do 100% plan to come back and continue but with it being a hobby vs other things, I had to stop and take care of other things. CoH is my home but I do jump to other games time to time

Energy resist is already really high, End drain resistance is pretty good already, combat jumping give immob protection, brutes dont need a lot of KB unless specifically made to be the main tank, and grounded only takes effect when actually on the ground

There could be some changes too. Could w slot darkest night with HOs and move the 2 slots to pick up more KB protection

Was going to come back to it in a future video. Martial arts for tanks and brutes have a defensive buff to everything by 10%. The second power (storm kick I think) buffs defenses. This is amazing for tanks and tanking brutes

Only what it is in. Mids, I think still effects other powers but in game, i have not experienced this. Just the power it is in.

It's by far my favorite tune now which is why I'm going to start playing with it all the time the raise the money needed to pimp it out

@@AlienMafia17 I don't really feel like I need it on my Tri-form tbh, I'm always hitting Dwarf Mire on cooldown so I always have some additional to-hit from that. There's really no good place to stick it anyway since we don't typically use toggles on a triform. Consider it a free slot? One area in that build where you may feel the need for additional accuracy is in Eclipse since it does have an accuracy check. If your global bonuses aren't enough, you could consider putting an ACC io there. I put a performance shifter acc/rch io in addition to the 4 piece unbreakable guard in mine and it serves me well. I also typically hit Dwarf mire first, and then hit a bind to drop to human+trigger eclipse.

There is stealth in sprint already. Trying to remember off top of my head. Shadow cloak gives 25 or 30% stealth and celebrity give 25 so ends up being 50-55 which invisibility give 55% right off the bat. If they want they can run invisibility and sprint and have even more stealth. It is whether you want to run 1 toggle or 2 toggles. End is a non issue for stealthing. Shadow cloak and sprint is not needed really.

@@AlienMafia17 Yeah that's fair. It's a nice option in the event you aren't taking the concealment pool already for LotG mules and thus aren't taking invis. That or if you happen to take super speed, you can pair that with Shadow Cloak. Lots of options for getting stealth.

Yup. This was a keep in set travel power build even though it now has super jump with force of will pool. I run a full human build normally so much different in toggle/pool power choices

Agreed and not the case in my friends case.

It is good. As described though is that I needs good amount of defense to with stand incoming debuffs and if not slotted correctly, toons will have low defense debuff resistance. Many only do 1 slot in the passives but is incorrect. This build has 97.6% so this will reduce incoming DDR by that amount. You will need to be hit by 25-30 attacks before your defense will drop below 45%. This also being highly defensive set we build for resistance/ hp/regen in most slots.

AlienMafia it seems, based on what people say in the chat and how often people are dead that a lot of folks neglect defenses anyway. The more I learn, the more I slot defenses before attacks.

Very similar set up but higher number with it being a tank. Maybe switch out gloom and SJ for conserve power and physical perfection to go more tanky or switch SJ for Howling Twilight for extra debuff for you and team but this would be the end heavy alternative but will be strong

Would have to play around with it and have a little more defense/resist to F/C/E/N to make sure survivability is optimal for tanking everything

It's not dead but very few do it to any competitive level. Corr, blaster, defenders, dom, few trollers, MM are all really good at PvP

Debuffs are king like -end, -recharge, -speed, -res, -tohit

Awesome!! I’ve been debating for a few weeks what type of toon to make for getting back into it... Yeah, I’ve seen Arena is a lot more popular now.. I used to PvP Sirens and occasionally Warburg, but it seems so dead.. Unfortunate!!

And generally a DPS loss with an added attack. Any way it is looked at, it so minimal of a boost or loss that I dont bother even getting. FF proc is good to put in if anything.

Update: I built as per your specs and gave it a whirl in an AE 4 x 8 Fire Farm.... Have to say, he didn't do so well :( He started off ok with Dull Pain, but once that ran out he had nothing else to keep his def up (unless sucking a Purp....) I'm not worried as I have a Bio/Claw and a Fire/Spines brutes for Fire AE Farm and they are perfect for a fire map, but I thought I would compare the INVULN/Super Strength with the other two. Can SS/Inv ever be as good as other brute builds or is it not such a good build in comparison. Maybe needs to be Tanker instead of Brute?

I'm not sure why. One day it was jumbled up do I had to sort it by done or not. I've been jumping around.

Is SS and SJ and Placate still needed since it is PvE now?
