What I meant by the real thing is if he was in any way like Don Juan was described in Castaneda's books. It seems as if most authors writing on those topics tend to do no more than espouse feel good claptrap. Of course I may be mischaracterizing other Toltec authors but it does not seem to me that many of them know what they are even talking about. I found CC's books when I was 13 in 1981 and even though I had found success with some parts of his works, especially The Art of Dreaming when it came out, I knew much was missing somehow. TM cleared that up a great deal even though he did not reveal the true meaning and purpose of the Warriors Party and such. I found this on my own and much more in the most unexpected of places. Gnosis I-III by Boris Mouravieff. I also liked The Finding of the Christ by Anna Kingsford from around 100 years ago as she started to speak of The Fourfold Path of Intuitive Understanding even if the work was a bit surface level. Four years ago I spoke with a member of TMs inner circle, a lawyer from Greece I believe with a last name like Sotorios or something akin to that. I had learned to "leave my body" at will with no break in conscious awareness and I was seeking input. He advised me to stop until a proper guide came along. I have for the most part but I still have to prove to myself that I can do it from time to time. I think I scared him off due to bringing up my perception of the world situation and politics of the US which is my home nation. I am one of those people who believes it is necessary for us to speak up against being told to shut up and go along and I reveal my real identity because I think truth demands courage. That would be ideal, the challenge is to get him to want to be shaved! With the cone, it stops the spread and returns to normal but it's not so good for him as it is quite itchy.
