Super Easy well to tell if you need to clay is, After you wash and dry the vehicle take a plastic shopping bag over your hand and run it over the paint. If it feels gritty = Clay. You'll know right away

I'm not understanding why you had to cut the stock H-Pipe. Those welds on the clamps are just tack welds to hold them in place. Once you loosen those clamps the factory H-Pipe slides off.
