That is brilliant, a nice little boost to your budget. My bank has a coin counting ATM that you swipe your card in and just dump your coins into a special tray and it counts them for you and deposits the money into your account.

I purchased some shares a few years ago - I didn't really know what I was doing but it was kinda fun. I consider them a long term investment and will form part of my retirement, or if it really hits the fan I will use them like an emergency fund and sell them if it goes south.
