I think the reason why imperfect notes won't be accepted is because in Cambodia, they don't print US notes and there is no Federal Reserve Bank that has massive deposits of it. Everything comes in from the US and Tourists so rather than circulate imperfect notes, they just say no to save them the hassle.

Your comments relating to Phnom-Penh in terms of, " sexpats", is incredibly offensive. Unfortunately, a small amount of tourists travel to Phnom-Penh for that reason but it is a MINORITY. With the attitude you have perhaps you would be better off just traveling within your own country. You are ill informed and lack awareness

And it also allows many local businesses to come up their own "creative" exchange rates scams. I always prefer to use a country's local currency. Good to do some homework in advance and know where you will do your exchanges to get the best and safest rates. The worst place is usually exchange services in airports and banks in the United States. They usually have ridiculous exchange rates and fees that can end up being from 7 to 15 percent.

I would say 10-15 min to Pub Street.

I've spent a couple of years in multiple countries. The reason why you sometimes cook, is that there might be foods that aren't like "home". For example, I like SOS on occasion or a real "American Breakfast" with fried potatoes and onions and/or green peppers, many countries have no clue how to make that properly. Also, there were times when overseas that you just don't feel like going out to eat, as the weather was bad or too tired. That apartment is real nice though.

How you manage to spend 300 US for food a month ?? And my latest utility bill was 11 US ...since living in an appartment where you can widely open windows and sliding doors on all sides of the room...and getting a great air circulation. Buy yourself a bicycle,...so nomore tuk tuk fees... And get a GF and 0 massage fees...lol To make it short : my budget, living in a very nice appartment is about half of yours...and I am living quite comfortable

It may be close to pub street - but $200 isn't ''cheap'' ! -?- A $ 50 room is "cheap" !!! You can get a lot of rides for $150 / month !!! -- Or rent a scooter for half of that ???
