มุมมอง 12K4 ปีที่แล้ว
I’m going to teach you the “Sandwich technique” and how you can use it when giving criticism or negative feedback. Giving criticism and 'negative feedback' can be quite tricky because it’s a sensitive topic. Not everyone will take feedback the same way. Using the sandwich method will build better rapport and relations to communicate across ’criticism’ or ’negative’ points without seeming so har...

A shallow breath means you’re not getting enough air into your lungs an...

TEDxSydney Pitch Night - Feed the Mind
มุมมอง 5864 ปีที่แล้ว
Feed the Mind... Why it's just as important as feeding the stomach. I made a goal 6 months ago to speak at a TEDx event and it happened at “TEDxSydney Pitch Night”. It was a privilege and honour to be one selected few out of 170 candidates who applied. This night wouldn’t have been possible without TEDxSydney's Curatorial Team, making this event run smoothly. Also a special thank you to TEDxSyd...

Came across your videos today and I must say you’ve definitely impacted knowledge and piqued my interest to dive into more of your tips. Thank you.
I just joined. Just did my ice breaker. I love it so far!
Loved the video - I joined Toastmasters back in September of last year and made it a mission to go at least twice per month. I already feel more comfortable while being up there speaking (and I thought I'd ALWAYS be terrified of being in front of people no matter what). One of the more seasoned members told me that you'll become a different person if you show up consistently for 6 motnhs - and I agree! I wish I would've done this 10 years ago in college but at least I'm doing it now.
This was such a clear explanation and your points were so helpful. I feel like I can take action on this now. Thank you :)
THE BEST!!!
Thank you for sharing your experience and opinions
👍🏻👏🏻
❤❤❤️❤️
Greetings from the USA! Well spoken Jamie! Thank you for representing us Toastmasters from the other side of the Pond!
Good use of FOMO.
For visitors they should let people who want to speak volunteer. As a person with acute anxiety being called on triggers the anxiety. They asked me to do Table topics Subject "Animal you have never seen that you would like to see in person." I was unable to think, although i could picture the animal in my mind i could not think of what the animal was called. My adrenaline was so high that i could not get to sleep until after midnight even tough the meeting ended at 8 pm.
I wish i could get excited about public speaking. Although it is a good skill to have it has the appeal both as a presenter and a listener of cleaning the bathroom, necessary but unpleasant.
👍🏻
❤❤❤❤❤
Hi Jamie thank you for your speech 👍🏻
The way you speak shows how good you are as a speaker
It might be a personal preference, but I listened to this video at 2x speed and the pace is still slow for me
Thanks for sharing the examples, definitely helpful!
Thank you for this video: I was looking for info about this method and I stumbled upon yours first. It was all very clear and I think I will start using this very simple system too during my lesson. On the other hand, I'd like to suggest you to learn a bit better your presentation, as in some parts of your speech you were making some little mistakes and it sounded as if you hadn't really prepared thoroughly for it. A part from this, I found it a very inspiring video and it is something that will give me a new way to help my students learn with more passion. Btw, I loved the part where you mentioned the quote regarding what people actually remember (feelings over what's been said) and how this can help them in being more positive in their approach towards learning. PS: is this comment a good example of Sandwich technique? :D
hi i would like to visit tonight
What if I can't speak straight English and I'm shy? Can I still join? I've heard most member are English teacher or English speaking people.
Absolutely
Your way of talking with all the body languages is a thing to praise for
Hai Jamie You articulated very well. how long have you been a member of toastmasters? Are you still part of it?
Wtf are you talking about. I came to see HOW to do it in sandwich method
Great job!! Nice video.
Thank you 🙂
Hey I actually loved the content delivered since it’s given good tips with scientific approaches, however, I think the fluency of video could be smoother. Hope to see more of your videos.
Thanks for your feedback! Hopefully I’ll get back into it soon 😊
what country are you from?
Australia
thanks jamie for the tips
I'm glad you like it! And thanks for commenting :)
Very good 👍🏻
Thank you ❤️
Very good 👍🏻
Thank you ☺️
Wow! You blew my mind. Thank you so much for the trick you shared! Keep up the awesome videos :)
Thanks Trish! I'm glad you found it useful :)
In the middle you mean point of improvement we don't criticise
A great point! 'Point of improvement' should be used in place of 'criticism' as a way to make it sound better :)
Call a spade a spade, however you reword it, it's feedback on an issue that needs to be addressed. Tomato - Tomatoe
