      From what I understand V2H/V2G is a DC-based system, thus using the CCS2 or CHAdeMO connector and requires a bunch of certifications for the house-side equipment that is not present in Australia. I've seen the equipment in use at a few testing sites around the place and it's in the range of about $10,000 - for that price you could get a hybrid inverter and a traditional 12KwH battery.

    Didn’t think you could have any more then 20Kw per house hold. We currently have 6.6kw but are looking at batteries as will as more solar as I think I could get around 40 panels up there and due to to buyback dropping by the year we would like to look at a off grid but have been told hybrid is still the go to. Would be interested in some pricing if I could get some details sent to me.

    Panels appear to be five down and back rows in parallel, so it is like five 72 cell @ 2 amp per cells sections in parallel for 10 amp total output. How are bypass diodes arranged in each of five sections as the five parallel sections seem to work independently (with some shunt leakage loss for shaded row pairs)? Having 72 series cells without any intermediate bypass diodes in the 72 cell series string seems risky but with only 2 amps of shaded cell reverse bias current maybe they can get away with it, particularly if cells are graded for high shunt resistance. Junction box probably has one bypass diode for whole panel for multiple series connected panels. This arrangement should work better for micro-inverter setups.

      There are certain micro inverters that you can buy that do not need a grid to function. I think enphase has this with IQ8 and IQ8+ microinverters.

    im having a serious problem. I got trapped into a contract for a solar array with micro inverters. the issue is that EMP shields require a single DC voltage to monitor and ground in the event of a voltage spike from atmospheric radiation from a solar flare or nuclear blast. the manufacturer of the EMP shield said that it cannot protect micro inverters because of that variance in output. is there any kind of wiring trick or perhaps a firmware update that can be used to get all of these inverters to operate on a single voltage. i thought maybe a bus bar that would tie them all together would work, but that still doesnt change the variation in voltage.

    This is misrepresentation. Most modern solar panels come with bypass diodes which simply bypasses the inefficient string(s) in the panel and makes all other strings in the panels work at their full efficiency.

      Are bypass diodes the same as power optimizers?

    • @shrujanamsyama9940
      @shrujanamsyama9940 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AcquahEmmanuelBaiden No, optimisers are current and voltage regulators. Optimisers increase the current of panels which are shaded while decreasing voltage so that the panel array can have a constant current and hence all panels are generating maximum possible power

      @@AvgDan Bipass diodes are in longitudinal strings. In your video, the guy has small solar panels of 250W which probably has at most 2 strings of 125W each. Most modern panels have 300W (poly) or 400W (mono) while these panels look old panels and may not even have bypass diodes. The shade is also width wise which means bypass diodes won't make any difference. So, he is losing 2 solar panels completely and that is showing.

      I have 25 Hyundai panels with a power of 400W on the south side in Poland. Both vertically and horizontally. They work perfectly. The system is on enphase microinverters and works great. These panels suffer from another property of secondary reflection of red light, which results in increased efficiency at dawn and dusk. They work surprisingly well in cloudy weather.

    Good day. I need some advice! Can I add an independent system based on microinverters to an existing (6 years old) system based on a string inverter (that has 6 X 250 watts S-energy panels, Imeon 3.6 inverter, 4 FIAMM AGM batteries)? I could add more panels to the existing system but only with the same wattage as the old ones. Thanks

      Hi Antonio. Yes, you should be able to do that. You will need to make sure you are in line with the network owners regulations in terms of how much AC you are adding though. Depending on where you are located, you may have 5kW per phase limit.

    So Could I effectively lay these as my roofing. I am interested in seeing building styles utilising Skill ion or Gable Roofs that provide the two for the price of one. I believe this segment of the "potential" market has been neglected. I was once a Roof Tiler and have been watching this space for some time. I note Tesla are creating solar roof tiles but understand these to be costly. I am interested to see what these turn out cost per square meter and what the layout specs for trusses etc look like. In a nutshell could this perform as a complete roof if scaled correctly ?
