We have it too. Very good mixer but!!!!! a big BUT! The 7qt is very different from the 5 and 6 (some 5/6 qt have this drive unit but the ones you buy in store don’t but I would check cuz if it’s a worm drive they sell kits on Amazon for 40 bucks. Look at directions for speeds and weight capacities for what ever you are using it for. For dough, like us, it’s 8 lbs essentially. DO NOT GO over. If you do you’ll strip the teeth of the transmission and it’ll begin to bind or seem like it’s getting stuck in short. The problem is, the 5 and 6 worm gears you can open it up and replace each gear individually that is stripped, the 7qt is a drive-transmission unit that CANNOT be replaced other than the entire drive and trans unit. It’s about 150 and a lot of places are on back order. Unless it’s CANADÁ where it’s a month wait. The kicker: KitchenAid customer service doesn’t have a maintenance department to talk to about what to order and the agents have no idea what’s in them. Another thing is the drive in the units are discontinued supposedly and the part number isn’t the right one and it’ll show you the updated one that I’ll list below. Since this model is used and sold in many countries they have different configurations. In the US you want 110-120VAC, 60hz 475-500watts and it’s usually 5amps So that’s what matters. Here’s the part numbers: One inside the one you bought: W11523176 The upgraded one: W11647947 And even the new one is hard to find. I’m guessing the differences being the bolt configuration for the ones for different models. For me, unless you need the size get the smaller version, otherwise this is what you’re dealing with if you don’t follow the weight/speed recommendations. I’d make a video (meaning you) on finding and replacing it because non-exist, and Amazon doesn’t carry anything for this model. Hope this helps
