0:10 "Oh I have fallen in Battle" My Sitster in existence you didn't train for this. Still like aside from the armor, why isn't she built for combat? Where the muscles at dawg? It removes alot of the appeal from it in selling the game through Design.
Noita HD 😂
This looks like a noticeable upgrade. Congrats!
Thanks, that means a lot. Always trying to improve :)
This looks cool.
M-Murray here! Goodluck with the release! 😊
Impressive game if it was made by one guy. Artwork and animations need work though..

What's the background music? It sounds oddly familiar, but I can't put my finger over it.
Its from an asset pack, Game Music Treasury
Agile does not work for solo development. You genuinely need at least three devs to make agile worth it. Keep your time management simple! 1. Don't call it "time" management. You manage tasks. 2. Have a "Work in Progress" limit. 3. Concurrent work should be related. 4. Don't call it "time" management.
There is some level of cargo cult when it comes to small teams / solo devs taking "what works for the big guys" as gospel.
Of course I wouldn't practice the ceremonies that don't apply, but I would keep to the basics of story writing and planning. For me personally I think maintaining a good backlog will help, to often especially towards the second half of dev I did a poor job of maintaining any sort backlog and wasted a lot of time. Plus, I have worked in an agile environment for 10+ years so its comfortable.
It looks like you dont have many scripts able to manage a collection of objects, instead having an instance of script per object.
I defiantly have a lot of both, however there are plenty of instances I probably should have done this. Great point.
@@KochalochGames Who knows. maybe that worked out for you. I find it prone to issue when there's too many scripts launched in unpredictable order. Using wait callback is also a common issue because the state changes. I saw many game bug related to wait callback occuring after level ended or game over for example. This is common for sound that dont stop. Having single class manage all sound and be a single source of event help prevent those bug.
That game looks great, especially the fluid animation, very well done. Working on my first Steam game too, and I really like seeing the process of how other are going about it.
Thanks, I really appreciate it. Ill be keeping an eye on Mekkablood!
Wow man i'm really excited to play this!
You should always write a proper game design document and plan out your whole process. Pre-production is super important and makes projects so much more simple than trying to figure it out as you go.
100% I learned the hard way with this one and I already knew better😅
Nice thats pretty useful! One thing I would add is setting up localization early in the project. That was my big mistake.
Great addition, i was lumping this one in with game infrastructure. I think many of these could probably be big enough to focus on their own.
Same, adding localization after you have the game almost ready was the most painful for me
Looks cool!!! I'm looking forward to trying it
Thanks!
Looks really great
Hi I suppose this is one of your refered video. Thank you for it. it is really nice from you. Unfortunatelly I can not find your animation refered video. Please youd you link it?
Amazing Progress!! :D I love how the parrot fetches coins
Thanks!
Nice video on unity’s 2D rigging!
The lighting in this game is great. Really gets the feel together so to say.
Thanks, it is still a wip but its coming together.
Didn't get burnt out doing artwork? That's awsome! i've taken long 6-month breaks because of burnout, but always end up coming back. I'm trying to find new ways to Never Burn Out and currently i avoid working when i sense burnout. 2 things work for me: 1. Hanging out in Voice Chats 2. If i feel like working on it. I often search for other ways to never burn out; but hanging out in Voice Chat is a go-to.
Getting a steam page up? I still need to do that. The area titles that pop up are a nice touch. Something i'm tempted to do in the future. Yeah multiple audio que's for damage is nice. Simple AI isn't necessarily a good or bad thing; i've noticed it really just depends on the mapper, and how they use the monsters. But i still want to work on improving AI in the future too 😄 3:50 that looks sweet! the darkness masking everything and barely seeing something Gigantic swing in the background. the big Torches/Braziers in the dark look great. and the little glowing effect on his feet when running in the dark, looks pretty.
Thanks, ya the steam page is a chore but is pretty cool once you get your first one up. True, it is tough to find the right balance for AI, to complicated can cause lots of problems..
I'm a sucker for sci-fi games. the idea of the unknown & Space ships, new worlds. all that just sparks imagination. Working on one by myself but one day it'd be nice to work with someone else.
Haha me too, and Ive quickly found out it is extremely easy to blow up scope in this space.
even tho its a devlog. the begining feels more trailerish. and if that's the case. but only if that's the case. push more action asap. the first 10 seconds really needs to captivate. a great example. is ChoCho Charles announcement trailer. within 3 secs it shows Charles. within 10 secs it shows train control. after that it slows down, then builds up tension.
Holy shit that was mind blowing 😯
Thanks :)
『p』『r』『o』『m』『o』『s』『m』 🙄
Nice! Just a thought but maybe the game would look a bit better if you messed with the lighting a bit and added normal mapping? The art looks nice but a little flat so maybe a change up in lighting would help. Idk
I was ready your channel name and I have no clue how to pronounce that. So how do you pronounce that exactly?

Yup ... everything checks out I'm currently 4 months into using unity
Micheal Jordan's face basically sums up my experience with 3D modeling 😅. I've found that I have become quite proficient with it yet I still feel dred when I have to open up blender to work on a new animation, model, material, etc. If anything, 80% of the work I do on my games comes down to art/3D modeling purely because I end up procrastinating on it and can't seem to sit for 30 minutes without getting out of my seat and taking a "break". Solo indie dev is a melting pot of multiple beasts you have to take one by one, your progress on your game in just 6 months is absolutely amazing and blows me away lol 👍!
Defiantly, im actually starting to enjoy 3d modeling a bit. It gets funner once you can create or get close to your concepts. For sure same here, most of my time is modeling or drawing. Thanks! Luckily I think Ive really found my passion with game dev and that's helped me power through so far.
Making models is great but sometime is better to not doing everything on your own but hire someone, or buy models on asset store or any other website. It's very tempting to try learning all skills required for making your game, but usually is actually cheaper to buy this stuff. I really like your devlogs, keep it up :)
For sure, every component of gave dev inst for everyone. For me the one thing I know I wouldn't be any good at and have no desire to do is sound effects. One of the first things i did was find a big sfx bundle on sale on the asset store, best decision so far. Thanks
Keep going
