It does greatry increase overheat nailgun damage on a close range
turns out my code was bugged. none of the random number generators could produce the highest number, which meant that violence would never be selected and the last level of a layer would never be selected. it should be fixed now though.

Not sure how useful this will be. Basically, the alt shotgun doesn't have to recharge on tier 1 and 2 speed, so if it's possible to kill an enemy on tier 2 speed by pumping up the green shotgun, that's optimal.
This kills a lot of the potential of the firestarter. The only enemy it is practical against is the insurectionist. Why can't we have a damage increase for all enemies, Hakita?!
After I've done more thinking I think the firestarter is alright. The damage buff is okay for insurrectionists because they're super tanky but having a 1.5 damage buffs for any enemy is overpowered. If a damage buff was added it would need to be pretty small, like x1.1 or x1.2. The firestarter as it is now actually does a pretty good dot when it's on the ground and a worse dot when on enemies. The benefit with spraying enemies is that you're guaranteed maximum uptime, where if you spray the ground they could walk out of it. I'd still say it's pretty mediocre but it keeps up with the other weapons. The way I use it is by spraying a line and using its movement capabilities, then I can set it on fire for some potential damage. It's also helpful against armored enemies like the minotaur, since the gas will hit them regardless of where you aim (or at least it should, it would be pretty lame if it didn't)
I also tested it. It works on some enemies. Did the same test as you, but instead of Mindflayers i tried Guttertanks and Minos Prime at first, where it also didn't increase damage delt, but i also tested it with 10x Hp Schisms and Soldiers where it increased damage. I read on the wiki that it only does it against the Husk enemy type but i tried it with Stalkers, Stray and Ferrymen and it didn't work there. Then tried Hideous Mass because it might work on fleshy enemies and it didn't work either. I don't know if it works with the Corpse of King Minos, that is annoying to test, but i doubt it. I haven't tried all bosses but it seems like it never increases damage taken when it would matter, except for the Insurectionist where it does, just like it always did.
From what I read, it only works on husks. Minus Ferrymen.
Husks are cannonically super flammable
I didn't mention husks because 1. most husks are low health enough that extra damage doesn't matter very much and 2. saying it increases damage against husks is inaccurate because the ferryman is a husk. But yes, you're correct.

Each mindflayer got a full round of oil, 1 rocket, and 3 revolver shots. The only difference is one got the revolver shots before the fire and the other got them while on fire. If being on fire increased damage taken, they would not have the same health at the end of the video.

this death was pretty stupid tbh but that's just how it goes
alright the quality is a bit better. my resolution in obs was a really weird number that i think got rounded down to 480p. so i changed it to 720 and it looks like it worked
Resolution don't matter when the gameplay is this fire 🔥🔥🔥
