This definitely explains why the PuPu was an option for the picture of the save file's icon on PS2 when on a physical memory card. Or at least it was on mine, I don't know if it had other ones. I know some games could do that sort of thing if you have more than one file, like Spyro on PS1 one did for example. Wows!
It's pretty funny how you claim that "an era of peace" led to the rise of the Empire in FFVI, even though in game it's explicitly stated that the devastating War of the Magi is what did it. That's the exact opposite of what you said, and it's a really big plot point. Then again, I guess any puzzle can be made to fit together however you want if you just cut off the jagged edges.
@@raidenvakarian9362 into ff2 first then later into ff6 but I suppose you will have to give another view to fact check ;p
this is interesting. found this vid surfing and only 2 minutes in and not reading any of the comments i feel the want to ask. haves anyone noticed the spades of 3 in the ff games? 1, 4, 7, 10, 13, 16...
I understand that 16 wasn't talked about because timing. however what of the sub games that directaly links the main titles? one such title is ff1's prequal :Stranger of Paradise:... that game linking 1 and 16 pretty well.
@@leif19samcynos not yet you are the first to point it out
@@ZoransFantasy-pv4vi 1, 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, are all games that share some sort of link to the the previous 3rd title. to many to list sorry. some key elements are the monsters. theres a few that only appear in these games exclusively. All the Cids that appear are all outcasts in some way. each of these titles are have a subtle or heavy theme of Life, Death and Rebirth. The name Al-Bed was only a thing in 10. however thay are a thing in each of these games. all these titles have a "Warrior of Light" of a Basterd of one. All characters with blond hair and blue eye are related in some way. (Not confirmed, but still...) Most of them haves a character that corilates to one of the original classes. For X it's Warrior/Jecht, Thief/Rikku, Monk/Kimahri, RedM/Seymour, White M/Shelinda, Black M./Lulu... I can list the other games but that'll tak to long. AND all this is a little that I remember, all the coincidences... if we dig deep, you can find lore that connects each game to the next or previous. This next bit is my take on the order. not trying to say your timeline is wrong. and I'm only counting these games for now. 1st is 16, then 13, 7, 10, 4, 1. then FF1Prequal... ... ... ... ... Shit!. XD I didn't mean to rant so much. sorry sorry. I'm stop for now.... =P Promise. ttfn yee.
The problem I have with powerscaling is when they start to get into large numbers and go beyond that into concepts. Powerscaling a samurai vs a medieval knight is much more entertaining since it is at a scale that is easy to compare and test irl. FTL and relativistic attacks/movement stops being easy to compare since it doesn't exist. An example of this would be a character accelerating up to the speed of light in 1 nanosecond. F=MA so their iron atoms in their haemoglobin would accelerate slower, and fall out of their body. Does this mean the character's covalent bond strength is near infinite... no, because they can get stabbed and have lasers oxidise their flesh. These inconsistencies occur when writers want to impress the audience, and when powerscalers try to mathematically quantify these abilities full of inconsistencies it just doesn't work or feel satisfying as an answer. Another problem I dislike, is when powerscalers take a feat that isn't shown on screen or one used for comedic effect and take it as fact. Well this character said that the joker can punch through a brick wall. We didn't see how, why or the consequences of the punch, "but its cannon" Yh its not very descriptive or useful either. What I'm ultimately saying is there is a problem in many matchups in which the evidence used is bad and the conclusions are unsatisfying due to unreliable maths. Don't get me started about some infinities are bigger than others. Infinity doesn't exist in reality and therefore it is just a made up concept and cannot truelly exist, and for it to exist, you would have to change the laws of reality so much that cross comparing characters becomes impossible.
31:46: Oh! Also in 10-2 PuPu were the save file icons for the game on PS2 as well, I have no idea why but I always they were so cute and having them in 14 is so cute, although knowing they coming from FF8 makes it funny how much they've become popular beyond then. And I didn't know that about in 10-2, kinda of hope that the HD remaster version has that, it'll be neat to see. And now in 10 itself I want Lulu to have her PuPu doll. Speaking of the Creator, I wonder if his race is one that could like be from a neighboring planet from the PuPu's home solar system/galaxy or something.... (And in general I want more lore on him and the Lunarians, overall. This is probably why I eventually look up fanfictions and theories.)
34:36: a slight correction, for Meteion and her sisters (all the Meteia) did, like destroy other worlds, but it's not specifically the FF worlds themselves, in fact in the last dungeon of Endwalker we see recreations of some of the worlds they destroyed. But the other worlds are still thriving because they either hadn't gotten to them (or because they were stopped and eventually change their song of a Oblivion into a one of Hope instead, and hopefully (literally?) reviving some of the other worlds in the process) but overall, I'd go as far as to say even if one of them did visit one of the other FF worlds, they wouldn't have caused it's destruction because it probably was already having it's own issues happening and left for another, since all they were doing was getting an answer to a literal loaded question asked of them by their maker. Just not a fair task for ones who were naive and understood nothing and quite literally understand the emotions of others - who were empaths. And although one of the explanations did kind of sound like Drakengard/NieR, possibly. In general EW's themes of despair versus hope, of overcoming it, are a good message to have. Sometimes though 14 shouldn't be so heavy with certain things in the lore that it makes older lore bits feel like it doesn't make sense when one thinks about too long (yet only maybe three times has it been a mistranslation in English though) as a whole. And also, little bonus, the Lore books are written from an in-universe lore perspective of like a or scholars from one of the world's lands too.
I just uploaded a challenge run for 10-2 or atleast a part one. I left in the PuPu cutscene in for you lol
Seriously?
Nux mention is crazy X_X
If the characters are written well, then powerscaling can be understood. Plus, it's easy to follow. Only stupid people don't know how to powerscale. It says on the statements, databooks, etc. One does not need to destroy the universe to be universal. Otherwise, there wouldn't be a coherent story, would it. Then again, even if the proof is there, people like you will deny it, which means powerscaling is only understood by people who are built different. That's a fact.
Since Jenova is not a person but a disease caused by a parasite or bacterial lifeform (Jenova cells), this makes no sense. The person you see in the tank is not Jenova's body, but the last infected Cetra. I thought it was clear that Jenova has the ability to shapeshift due to her obviously taking the form of Sephiroth multiple times during the original story while his body (or half of it) is trapped in the crystal.
what about video game characters? one thing I dislike is that people say game mechanics don't count.
trash video for the ai thumbnail
@@justclark915 my editor made it not sure if he used AI or not lol
oh yeah for bleach its spiritual energy spiritual pressure is what comes off of you
My personal favorite issue with powerscaling is when someone tries power scale using rpg animations... I do not believe that pokemon contain colossal amounts of energy, because water pokemon can just summon large waves in the middle of a desert. And just because you dodged a lightning/light based attack doesn't mean you are ftl especially if it's normally shown your normal speed is like 10 mph at most... and if you want to scale a meteor as having earth destroying properties then inside the same system... I guess the main character swiping a slime at the start of the game with a wooden stick should be able to cleave the continent in half.
Well, no. Cuz the item they are swinging with, doesn't have the durability to match.
@Aerosmith1999-j6h nah... we all know that rpg items outside of a few games have infinite durability. That branch will survive a hero with max atk bashing in an automaton head made out of adamantium.
@@water2770 Not really. You seem to be confusing lore, with gameplay.
@@Aerosmith1999-j6h I'm talking about power scalers confusing lore with gameplay
@water2770 Well, here's the thing, you go by lore. Fuck the gameplay. The cutscenes, and background story, is what matters. I'm one who scales to the lore. Not to the gameplay.

Stan Less quote tho isnt about chatacters from vastky diffent characters But the idea that any charactee if the plot works a way , while being welll written Someone stromger can lose U can also do that with with less good writing but woudlnt be fun
I will sqy the dif in spiriuality and phycial plasma is reeal. That said soemtimes u have to hand wave it for a figjt to even happen Cuz for peope who wanr to compare what someone is meant tivdo narraaetivly u would do that Who whpuld won Is cuorruppted by oeoppe wanting their guy to win I use power scaling to find how a charactee i like wohld be in this versues. That way i can see where they go by raw numbers Then adjust the numbers for their chaarcters Like if batman vs bane was in my hands Bane is super strong now... But...they shoulsnt be that strong
Power scaling is so dumb. Most people don’t even use actual feats to come to a conclusion of how strong, fast or durable a character even is. A lot of it is just guesses, lies and bias.
Then that's not good....power scaling...
Power scaling is perfectly not only good but necessary
@@massmurdertron51I completely agree people say power scaling is dumb because of bad power scalers which are dumb lol
I see so many people use some stupid feat in order to powerscale. Like let's say a character is known for having regular strength, but at some point he dodges a laser. Then for powerscaler, it is proof that the character is faster than light. And this is just an example. Calculating by doing physics and maths strength or power of characters which is already a problem in itself since people writing those characters are not physics researchers, but also ignoring some law of physics because it would just break anything.
Powerscaling is necessary. Unless you're stupid and can't comprehend how strong these fictional characters are. It's easy logic. One does not need to prove that they can destroy planet. The fact that it was stated and the characters progression is there. Use your brain don't stupid
I felt the rebirth story was gonna be intertwined with more than just crisis core but that probably was just to big of a project. I mean we already have dissisia and rebirth is BIG. I just hope we get a lightning returns remaster that adds classic combat from 13-2 and you can choose how the timer works. it should be an accessibility options.
Not even top 5? Goodness and you said you were going to be careful not to upset FF7 fans!
4-8 🫡
From ACTUALY Non-crossdressing Female Cloud to Stinking Jenova!? Seriously Lightning has quite the Identity Crisis! (and that's not even her real name)
I thought Jenova was already proven to come from FFX and the original Shinra?
I really believe that yunalesca is jenova. I think the timeline is FFX-X2, FF6, FF7, FF(7RM/RB). Celes, Leo, and kefka, Terra (Tina) are the first “soldiers” (kefkas laugh is in the golden saucer of the original.) Chupon a boss in FF6 is a boss in FF7.Some summons in 7 use the same attacks as they did in 6.
I am a fan of jenova being a sin spawn thoery
I’m interested in all those things you asked if I was
Am surprised you didn’t mention the 3 goddess statues in kujas palace that are from ff6
I really like this idea , when they remake ff13 I’ll expect them to tie it together with ff7 remake now
Happy Holidays friend!
Happy Holidays man.
@@ZoransFantasy-pv4vi You too!
Nani??!
In Final Fantasy 14 the design for Lightning was used to make Shiva. The character Shiva in interesting since the character design from game to game is based off of different worshipped deities.
I always thought the Jenova body we saw was from an actual Cetra woman who became infected by the Jenova alien since whenever we fight her she's a mutated abomination and not an undead anime waifu.
Jenova is an alien parasite, the female figure is just a citra corpse infected by those parasites
Ahem. Jenova and Lavos from Chrono Trigger are the same celestial planet-locust-species.
Great video, for me my Theory is that Jenova is the defeated body of the Cloud of Darkness from FF3 that lost its memory but instinctually still wanted to consume life
its funny.. when i played ff7 i was also playing wild arms.. both had a space based monster who ate worlds. Jenova and "Mother" the difference being Jenova was a chopped up space zombie and mother was alive and had breed countless Living Metal Demons who serve as the main enemy. 2 of my first ps1 games. Maybe those two need some deeper looks on how space world eaters work. Also Lavos did both their jobs earlier.
Go an hero Bye
I love the idea but ultimately, Gogo in V and VI, Gilgamesh in multiple games, they're just easter eggs. Just like Cid in every game, chocobos, moogles, crystals/materia/magicite, but I wouldn't be surprised if they cash in on this idea after Stranger of Paradise. Loved that game and for those who don't know it was a matrix-esque where there were 15 worlds? Each level was based off a different mainline FF game Also for the "timeline" I'm fine with the idea if they're thousands if not hundreds of thousands years apart, personally really like that idea similar to Legend of Zelda
Lightning losing to Sephiroth is comical.
@@fefnireindraer144 I personally agree but I'm pretty sure that it's basically cannon that sephiroth is one of the strongest characters in final fantasy.
Zidane mentions Cloud and Squall in his story. So, we know 7 and 8 predate 9 in the story continuity. X is stated to be 1,000s of years before 7. So, it could be X, 7, 8, 9 in that order. Bahamut in Final Fantasy 1 speaks of classes which have been nearly lost to time. Which include the Black Wizard which does not appear later. So, FF1 might be the earliest point on the timeline. With a time before this not shown in any game including warriors who could use these classes.
There is also the possibility of Black Wizard being much later and Bahamut reviving the White Wizard etc. That is the weakest of my theories.
This theory makes zero sense
Stranger of paradise me too s them too
i feel as if final fantasy technology advancement is a legit beginning point 8>13>10>7>3>15>5>9>6>4>16>12/?>1>2. the other world could in fact be on pulse, the ivalice world, the key is snow, he resetted stuff.
i just went an rewatched 13's ending, and everyone left, including noel and yuel(spoiler characters), except for caius. so henceforth lightning as bhunivelze created 2 worlds, and what remained of pulse. guessing noel, serah, and caius to replicate the choices of pulse, etro, and lindzei respectively.
I never thought of it that way.
I would probably still put 8 after seven using that logic as the technology is similar but slightly more advanced in 8 but other then that I could agree with this lineup.
lightning returns ending, rather. convolution, all that jazz.
But are you brave enough to somehow connect Cloud from FF7 to Cloud of Darkness from FF3? So FF7 becomes the battle of the calamities from the skies... (this is only partially a joke, fyi!)
I've actually contemplated doing that exact thing as an april fools joke. We will have to see how much merit it holds after i do more research on it.
What about Hyne, who's a boss in FF3 and a myth (origin of mankind & magic) in FF8? You might want to look into that
FF14 is directly connected to Tactics and 12. Spoiler alert for Stormblood / Shadowbringers / FFT The alliance raids in Stromblood are called "Return to Ivalice" to get there you just take an airship, no portal or time shenanigans like the FF15 crossover. Throughout the raids you fight through the ruins of Dalmasca and Goug, several bosses are named after people in Ramza's crew; to include Agrias, and TG Cid. The final boss of the series is Altima, the same as in FFT, whose defeat allows Ramza and his crew to finally rejoin the lifestream. During the Bozjan liberation you have to contend with an FF12 style Judge, and even meet Fran in person.
There are a million connections like that to fourteen for most of the games. Most of which giving conflicting information hence why I decided not to nitpick all the crossover events and nearly 20 years of lore for both online games or the video would have been an hour longer lol.
@@jakeherring2502 yeah the closest working theory of my own being FFXIV lore nut is that when Hyldayine Shattered the world into 14 versions of itself and sent 13 of them into pocket realities is they briefly traveled thought other realities and absorb some magic and memories of those worlds. Even the recent raid is a recreated memory of FFXI
@@ZoransFantasy-pv4vi it makes sense for what you did here. I just brought up that one specifically since there's no time / magic shenanigans like there was when you meet Noctis.
They're all independent universes connected by the void.
I agree 14 and dissidia both confirm and deny that in their own ways.
Nuh ... Then airieth too was affiliated with professor hojo
Not entirely sure what you mean by this but go on?
So in my opinion there are 3 potential candidates for the identity of Jenova. We can throw in Light for the more reaching theory, as if the Cetra are the cleansed people who came to Gaia with Light, there wouldn't really be a reason for them to conflict with her as they all know for a fact that she's a goddess and their saviour. Another thing that punches a hole in that theory is the fact that the Cetra were pre-existing on Gaia before Jenova's meteor arrived. The last hole is motivation. Just as if the cleansed denizens of Pulse turned Cetra would have no reason to turn on Lightning, she would have no reason to try and drain the lifestream. Option 2, Dissidia Lore: Nil The Lufenian Administrator is Jenova. After being thwarted by Garland the Lufenians banished her to dimension 7 (due to her going rogue with her obsession with Jack and the four fiends). Seething with anger as she began to embody Chaos in a world that didn't have it (sans the Weapon created by the lifestream to balance Omega that is), she descended on Gaia and immediately targeted the Lifestream, much to the ire of the Cetra. Fast forward to the Shinra Era, the Shinra scientists discover her body and begin experimenting on replicating her abilities into humes. And since the Strangers are Lufenian agents, Shinra unknowingly created 3 Strangers in Sephiroth, Angeal and Genesis, of which all other SOLDIERs are derived from, which is why they are often depicted as significantly stronger than normal SOLDIERs, bc they were the closest to being true Strangers. Option 3, Fringe Connection Lore: Zalera the Death Seraph is Jenova. There's tons of overlap in the general FF Shared Mythos. One could retroactively apply the references the Scions of Darkness from FFXII make to previous villains as the identity of the villains themselves. Most of them are forces of entropic nature anyway so it's non-destructive to their lore and roles within their respective games (with the exception of maybe Emperor Mateus). The espers may or may not have the ability to jump dimensions (we don't know bc we don't get much on their true abilities before they get bound to mortals), and the names differing could just be a simple case of translation garbling. Zalera could translate to ancient Cetra as something else, which would translate into Modern Gaian Common as Jenova (Like taking a word and throwing it into Google Translate and translating through 6 different languages with differing syntax). Boom, mixing Mist and Mako and you get super soldiers. And since Espers can't be killed (per se) this would explain how she was able to be separated into several parts before being brought down to a cellular level. Honorable Mention (and probably the least destructive as it's within universe), FFX Lore: Yunalesca escaped the Farplane when the Guado abandoned Guadosalam, and instead of turning fiend and attempting revenge, she saw that her father had been perma-death'd and left Spira for Gaia. (It's important to note that Nomura said same world. Not same planet. In Nomura terms a world can basically just be a universe or pocket dimension).
I like those ideas and as your counterpoints go that's why I did a slightly revised "what if" History in the video.
Lightning looks more like female Cloud.
I wouldve said she was Ultimecia before her. I say ultimecia because of the concept of time. Also, what if she wanted to achieve time compression because she wanted to save Sera in that timeline?
Sarah is saved as of lighting returns.
