Brian might have the brains of the group, but without Carl’s heart and soul we might never have transcended from “pop” to a higher form of The Beach Boys’ music. ☮️💟

I was offered tickets to see the Beach Boys this last summer and reluctantly went, really not wanting to see a Mike Love Beach Boy cover band. But I have to admit, when they played "God Only Knows" synced to Carl Wilson on the big screen, the hair on my arms stood up. Then got to meet Bruce Johnston after the show, so it turned out to be a good night.

Former Four Freshman guitarist and vocalist Mr.Brian Eichenberger handles the voice of Carl Wilson impeccably.

Brian could mix arrange & sing great harmony but Carl had the best voice. Gone too soon. 😢

Nobody should be able to perform this song other than Carl. Brian wrote it with Carl performing it in mind. As with everything else he did musically, Brian nailed the choice.

One of the highlights of my teen was the concert with Beach Boys and Chicago at the University of Maryland in late 70s!
