    double swivel or just swivel pair is better than the other? Thanks

    • @sharkfinshears7839
      @sharkfinshears7839 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! Swivel is better than non swivel and super swivel is better than swivel. Keep in mind, all of our swivel shears can be upgraded to a super swivel.

    • @praphasrisukhilak3807
      @praphasrisukhilak3807 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sharkfinshears7839 super swivel is double swivel ..? And secondly that magic that your range of swivel can be integrated to double swivel ...very impressive. I would like to hear from your confirmation. Thanks again.

    Could you tell me the difference between a double swivel and a single swivel? Which one is better?

    • @sharkfinshears7839
      @sharkfinshears7839 ปีที่แล้ว

      The main difference is the double swivel allows for a rotation up & down (north & south) as well as left & right (east & west). The double swivel allows for a more ergonomically correct rotation of the thmb. It is a big benefit to any artist who is double jointed in the fingers. BOTH are a huge improvement over the non swivel shear.

  • @ashlienorris8926
    @ashlienorris8926 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you so much for this. Is it better to to get a double swivel or single swivel for a beginner?

    • @sharkfinshears7839
      @sharkfinshears7839 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello. The natural transition is from a non swivel to a swivel. Also, all of our swivels can be upgraded to a swivel simply by purchasing the super swivel part. This way you do not have to purchase a new shear.

    Hello! Do you have grooming shears? So these shears are great for fatigue. I personally don’t have wrist problems and I pray I never do but I do get at times fatigue. The shears that I have now are heavy and they give me fatigue. Thank you for this video though! ❤

    Hey Randy. Thanks for putting out a video on probably one of the most asked questions to a professional sharpener. HOW OFTEN? Obviously there are many factors, Whats your typical method of cutting? Ie; blunt, slide point? how many cuts do you do monthly? Typical texture of hair? Age and quality of their shear. All these factors come into play. I'm going into my 30th year sharpening and product education. Fortunately i was able to have received training in a factory where shears were being made. Like you said, there are keys to maintaining your shears and keep them preforming. MAINTAINING PROPER TENSION IS BY FAR, THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU CAN DO TO KEEP THEM PREFORMING!! I often teach, either you ALLOW your shears to work or you FORCE them to. That's up to you! Shears will become dull gradually almost to the point of not recognizing it. Cutting with dull shears not only is damaging to your clients hair but to your shear itself.. Sure some have saved a bit of metal and a few dollars over the years from not having them sharpened that often but when they wait too long, the sharpener has to be more aggressive to recreate the edge. (Recreate vs. Reestablish ) Gaining virtually nothing in longevity. I find a Maintenance sharpening a better way to go for many reasons. 1, less damage to the clients hair. 2. effort to get the results your looking for. 3. Less effort,+ less force +More productivity= better$$$ 4 less material removed when sharpened. ( this depends on the sharpener) I suggest for starters get, have a qualified sharpener you can trust. He should be able to address the factors and help determine what works best. Sorry for being long winded. I'm just passionate about my profession.

    I've been working behind the chair for nearly 35 yrs . In the past 7 years I've had 8 surgeries on my hands/fingers, I've had my entire neck fused, and my tailbone (L-5/S-1) fused . In the past yr I've had to start cortisone shots in my hands . All of this is directly related to doing what I love to do . These young stylists have to start listening to us older professionals and stop thinking we are just talking crap about the physical dangers of this amazing profession
