    My favorite knife on planet earth is the benchmade 940-1. This version has carbon fiber handles and s90v steel. It is so light you can't even feel it carrying it. Love the ergos. Love the blade design. Love the s90v steel. It doesn't hurt that I got it from a dealer that sold it to me for $250 back around 2016. I've bought many benchmades from this guy way below what they sell for everywhere else. This proves the margin for profit is there to sell them cheaper. Benchmade just prohibits most knife retailers from selling (mostly just advertising) their knives below the price they set. Spyderco PM2 is my 2nd favorite. Would love to get one of the fancy limited edition versions of the pm2 smkw puts out occasionally.

    I own a few Benchmade fakes. I'm proud to own and claim they are fake. I will not spend the stupid amounts of money to buy a real one. Their logo ain't worth hundreds of dollars to me. I carry a fake mini stimulus every day. It's fast as shit and decent knife especially for 20 bucks. I would never sell them for real knife prices. I don't plan to sell them at all. I'm buying more soon. I'm not a knife snob like so many out there. I've had many great pocket knives from gun shows for 10-20 bucks. I bought 1 knife that cost 230 bucks. A Buck 110 automatic. You know what it does?? It sits in a sleeve put away and I almost never touch it. I feel like companies like Benchmade are completely full of themselves but when you got as many fan boys as Glock, I guess it's bound to go to their heads. Back in the day when S&W and Colt made high quality firearms they were less overpriced then than these BM knives are now by a lot. For the kind of money it takes to buy a Benchmade, I want a firearm for that kind of dough. I'm a gun guy who has recently started collecting knives. Not collecting to have an investment like I have, so to speak, with guns. I'm collecting to have a bunch. I thought gun guys were nuts for the shit they spend their money on, but knife guys are outta their minds lol. Some guy on here owns a shit ton of stupidly expensive knives, carries at least one or two daily and has said they are not for self defense, utility only lol wow. I carry a knife and a gun and brass knuckles for self defense, but I've never needed them I do have to say. I'll use a knife for other random shit, but I started so I have something to stick someone with when I am at work because that's about the only place I don't have my gun. I go into a LOT of random houses. Pretty much everyone has always been co, or cool enough to not get stabbed but with as many as I go in, you just never know who you're gonna encounter. Also can't justify spending 200, 300, 400 even 500 bucks on one knife and go out and use it regularly letting it get scratched up in my pocket and wearing it out. There is no way a damn "Bug Out" costs 200 bucks to produce. There's just no way.

    I have purchased a TON of expensive knives over the years (microtech, benchmade, etc) and have somewhat recently started buying knockoff knives to compare to my expensive ones...if you aren't looking for a "life or death" knife, buy the dhgate clone for 1/4 or 1/10th of the price. Blade steel will be a bit softer, but quality is so similar that I don't find it worth the extra $. Just don't try to tell people you own a "microtech" or "benchmade" when you own a Chinese knockoff.

    • @H20cofilmandphoto2112
      @H20cofilmandphoto2112 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Maybe I'd be ok with that if I wasn't such a damn steel snob. I just don't see the point in spending any money on a knife with a shitty steel. in my mind the performance of the steel is the only thing that really matters at the end of the day. The entire purpose of a cutting tool is to cut efficiently effectively and for a long time so if I get a clone that I have to sharpen after every use I almost feel as if it defeats the purpose of the tool itself. I'd rather have a ugly blade with a great steel over a blade that looks like it's expensive but doesn't cut worth a damn every time. 1 good knife will last a life time we're as if you have to keep replacing crappy knives every time they break ypu may have well have just spent the money on the good knife. I just would assume in the long run it'd actually be cheaper because it's not just the cost of the item but what you get out of that item for your monet that really makes the knife worth it's keep if that makes sense.

      It’s funny that you mentioned 4 civivis. I bought 3 $42.50 paraxis & a 4th purple w damascus because it looked cool. Liked the purple Damascus,on sale 58,68 bucks,can’t remember.a little better than the others and all 4 stayed sharp & liked the style & size of the paraxis because it was so much more knife than I usually carry but I lost all of them because when they got snagged & bent way worse than any other knife I’ve ever had a pocket clip bend on any knife at any price. At least the other ones would be ok,at least for a while,to bend the clip back and use it for a while longer and MAYBE have to change iteventually .barely felt the 1st bend,didn’t feel the 2nd at all. JUST GONE. Could have bought a real Benchmade & had change. I saw a guy that was real happy with his new bugout (had more bugouts & other expensive knives)Had the grey blade and ranger green plastic scales I think. Brass thumbstud.?.?.I want to try that kind of lock,liked the short,strong clip on the bugout.the guy said it doesn’t snag on things,put scratches on vehicles and stuff like his other knives. So I go on benchmades website,& the knife was there,site was not easy to use. Customizing part or any of it really. The most recent reviews were a lot of broken springs that make the lock work,can’t use the knife at all at that point..& shipping dull,fit finish problems. & The b3?things they want you to give individual grade marks on the reviews,the 3rd was “VALUE” and it is hidden unless you push” read more “ ,even if it was a very short 5word review .hiding all the low value scores their customers left. Just seems like BS & they are starting to not give a crap probably. I just found these counterfeit videos on knives by accident. I just want a good knife that I won’t loose. I liked the one that small channel guy had. The clip was different on website or I couldn’t get a look at the other side of the knife. Can’t remember. Typed through the video. The only advantage of the actual knifes at this point are the exotic steels they use. But my grampa and dad never needed a knife with Powder Metulergy steel to do the things they needed to do with a knife and I think Ill be just fine with a 440c or 8cr13mov but now a days even the clones have D2. So I think ill just spend what one benchmade would cost and get 6 different clones instead.

      That's one point of view f9r sure but there still something to be said for a great American made blade now that doesn't necessarily mean powdered metallurgy for instance one of my favorite every day carries is a modified buck 110 hunter with a thumb stud. paul boss uses 420c not particularly the greatest steel in the world but his heat treat gets every inch of performance out of it possible so it's a great blade and u can get them under $40 if ypu know where to shop.

    I have a MT ultraT copy and it is killer. I put it next to my 315 dollar original and the clone was 26 bucks and the Tanto blade is razor sharp and holds a great edge

      @sman5517 yeah it's been ruff and I have another 6 and a half weeks before im back on my feet so its been drivingnne stir crazy not being able to make any content...but im glad you enjoy the blqde ! it's an amazing blade! Reminds me a lot of my sog xr termanis but with the much better shark lock! I do prefer the ad 20 over it mostly just because of the handle profile, but all in all, it's an amazing build, and more so, I'm thrilled to see demko allowing others to use his lock. I've been hoping he'd open source it since he released it. I'd love to see a manix 2 with a shark lock that would be one hell of a good blade. Is it your first shark lock?

      @sman5517 nice! There are definitely a ton of great folders out there! May I suggest grabbing a demko ad 20.5 if you enjoy the arc3de you'll absolutely love the ad 20.5. Flytainium is using demkos lock but the originals are always done really well! And as far as fixed blades go I've been actually adding more and more to my collection. I'm looking at the new magnacut pinebar by kabar and hersey knives especially considering its only 350

      yes it is... that's how they describe it - as for the glove wearing - if you're planning on reselling, I guess I could see that - but it's meant to be heald by a human hand, flesh to metal - not with a hand condom on... it's kinda ridiculous - I see people do that with super high end timascus, that stuff prints like crazy - but the Harsey is meant to be patina'd... battle worn - so to say.

    I’m not likely to buy a knife from Ali or Temu or wherever. But I won’t be buying Benchmade. I don’t care if it’s made into the US or it’s made on Mars. I’m not into being ripped off. I will take my Maxace Mamba for $81 over anything Benchmade makes.

      Max ace is a decent brand but there are some far better built benchmades out there.....now are the Benchmade worth the ticket price is another situation all together. I will admit that Benchmade has some of the most overpriced knives of any company on the market. Doesn't mean there knives aren't great tools just means there overpriced.
