Suede 1993 International Video Profile EPK VHS
มุมมอง 48K10 ปีที่แล้ว
Interview with Brett Anderson, Bernard Butler, Matt Osman and Simon Gilbert. From a VHS tape which I hung onto from February 1993 to promote Suede internationally before the first album. The interview looks like it was shot in Matt's mum's living room (though more likely the winner of 'Chintzy Hotel of the year 1982') and the outdoor bits are on Oxford Street and Park Lane. It was probably shot...
Princess Diana Crash - First BBC News Report (interrupting 'Borsalino') 1997
มุมมอง 406K10 ปีที่แล้ว
The first news report of the Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed car crash in Paris, France on a BBC News announcement. The news flash with Martin Lewis was interrupting French film Borsalino, starring Alan Delon and Jean Claude Belmondo - the movie scenes before and after the news announcement have been left as they were broadcast: a funeral scene followed by a Paris street scene. Recorded at the ti...

Unbelievable, isn't it? They were showing an English dubbed yet made in France film and they break a serious news flash from France.
This movie changed my life
Same, watched it at 14 and it and could never get over it.
Can't believe I don't know this song 😮
I really like suede but jeez as a northerner I find their personalities so abrasive and cold. Even morrissey was a lot more charismatic 🥲
I think they're some of the most passionate performers. But they're a bit of an Anne Summers Marmite band.
The film was not paused, it skipped a whole chunk
The strippers are here
A celluloid classic!!!
Anyone else find it weird that a funeral scene is playing or is that just me
🙏❤️
1:25 Holy moly, what is that hair?!?! 😂
What time was the first bulletin (London time)? When did they announce she had died? I believe I tuned into radio at 9 or so and it was on the hourly news and then at around 11 pm Iowa time BBC shortwave announced she was gone. Can someone correct me on the time? Thanks.
This bulletin aired around 0140 UK time. Rolling coverage/BBC World simulcast started at 0230. All coverage went to the domestic feed at 0630 but the International feed went back to it's dedicated coverage. All other channels were merged to BBC Television from London (same for those who simulcasted BBC1 or whatever feed they probed in). BBC2 went to Grandstand (sports) but BBC1 stayed with news coverage and continued to overnight until closedown; second BBC World simulcast at 0020. CNN announced her death at 11:50pm ET, and aired a snippet from the 0630 announcement at 0710 UK time. (2:10am ET?) MSNBC showed live pictures of BBC World for a short amount of time. ITN did 2 newsflashes - one at 0130 and another at 0440. That's all i know, to be fair. P.S.: The official name for BBC Shortwave is BBC World Service. Ciao
@@theebloxinatorI have some more details I have learned: - ABC & NBC in the US showed the BBC World simulcast in bits. NBC began covering the accident at around 23:30ET and continued throughout the rest of the day. I don't know at what time ABC began showing the BBC footage. - CBC in Canada also showed the BBC World footage. I know this because there are 2 videos of it on TVARK that prove it, one of the two videos shows the official announcement, the national anthem of the UK, and then cuts to the CBC domestic newsroom. Sometime later they went back to the coverage, and later, they began a special programme. - I read on an Australian forum that a TV network in that country (I think it was either Nine Network or Channel 10) took the Sky News UK feed.
Edit - ITN's only brief newsflash was the one at 0130. The one at 0440 was rolling coverage.
@@OcelotlDeCostaRica National Nine was showing regular programs. National Nine did a newsflash after multiple sources confirmed Diana's death, so most likely Channel 10 Australia took Sky News UK.
Wow, for me it doesn't get better than that! I'll never forget the first time I saw Concrete Blonde live in NYC in the late 80's.
Borsalino has a 70% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Must be good, knowing Rotten Tomatoes.
how can i contact to you
What they fail to mention is the track on the jukebox was normally ' The house of the rising sun' by the Animals..
One of the best.
Aside from the announcement, does anyone else think the music at 2:16 is a lot like the Thomas the Tank Engine music?
3 of a kind ....there's this .. ..hitchin a ride by greenday.. ..stray cat strut by the stray cats
Whoa, what a Grand and cool video!
Great track cool film
Very spinal tap. It's understandable that Bernard Butler mover on.
A little pretentious. Good music though.
No Q bomb needed here neither.
Rest in peace Mr Gordon and say hello to Danny Gatton and Link Wray for us ....
Bolan always the best
And now the Queen’s dead...
02:58 they're terrific. 👍
Can someone tell the decade? Thank you
yeah great, but its missing the best bit: the guitar solo after Vance says "so what's a bum got to do to ride this thing?" And Telena says "turn the key" {great guitar solo}
I heard about the crash around 6pm, but no update until later. They couldn’t interrupt a hockey game in August .
Are you from Australia or New Zealand?
@@jakubwidlarz - Neither . I am from Canada .
@@mjj1434 Oh sorry. I thought you meant field hockey because the NHL doesn't have games in August other than the pandemic bubble in 2020 and there was no World Cup or any international tournament that year. Maybe your memory is pointing to Montreal vs BC Lions in the CFL that night.
Diana was murder I swear
Davey was superbly talented. The 80’s spawned tons of talent. This was a b-side if it was a Depeche Mode song (great band) it’d get played in front of stadiums. Fate is a fickle friend
0:40 look how it just goes black before bbc1 news comes on
This initial BBC News report on Diana's car accident in Paris is not unlike the first bulletins from CBS News on the shooting of President Kennedy in Dallas in 1963. Each time, people everywhere were pulling for JFK and for "Di" when it was thought that they were still alive, only to have them die and plunge their respective nations into periods of great sadness and mourning. :( :(
mambo para siempre
A funeral scene How poetic
It's like they pre-planned Diana's death
He is so many different people, one minute he is a gentle, shy man, the next he gets nasty. I
❤️❤️❤️❤️
So a Funereal held in France was shown before her death was announced- Spooky. a coincidence? or did somebody know something ? If only i believed in conspiracy theories.....
Tragic 😞. The film is set in Paris.
Remember this day I was 14 the Sunday was a complete day of mourning remember my Sunday league football was cancelled
Hiow creepy
Damn, I would be pissed off if I was really getting into Borsalino just to have it interupted by the death of a woman who wasn't even a real princess any more.
Bless your heart!
