in which specialization did you apply? have you not locked any other options before 8th round? and what was your gate paper code? because in some specializations, more than one gate/subjects papers are allowed but their subject wise cutoff remains different, on website they upload overall cutoff.

Since last year cutoff for material science for obc category was 405, one can hope to get a seat. but it also depends upon several factors like: if it is offered on the basis of interview or direct through GATE score only, this year paper was easier or tougher than previous year cutoff, and also number of students applying etc.
