Nobody forced me to hate Starfield, it just came while playing it for a long time, the more i play it, the more i hate it. I would love to love it but it's just impossible. Well maybe Todd and Emil forced me to hate it with that awfull writing and bad quest design.

Oh it's not forced. Bethesda have worked very hard at earning my ire for two decades. Hating on it for "invalid reasons"? You never define what that means. But you decide what is valid for everyone else? A bag of hammers is about this dumb.

I’m a bartender, and one of my regulars is also a gamer. He was asking me what I’ve been playing lately and I said I’ve just gotten into Starfield. His response was immediate cringe. “Bro whyyyy??? That game fucking sucks. Everyone hates it.” I asked what he didn’t like about it and couldn’t give a solid answer. I was like bro it’s okay to actually like a game that other people don’t. We both like RPGs and have pretty similar tastes in games so I didn’t get why he was so weird about it. Then I realized he was just trying to be like everyone else and jump on the hate train for no reason. Maybe it’s because I’m queer and don’t care what anyone thinks of me, so I don’t care to fit norms. Maybe it’s him and his other straight buddies giving each other shit for no reason, making each other feel bad. Idk lol

i just start playing SF in sept 2024 and was shocked the game is so enjoyable . the only minor gripes is the UI need a bit more intuitive but it is just learning curve , and the inventory management between companion.,. other than that it is my kind of game personal opinion , great game

Have you actually played Shattered Space?

A lot of comments here seem to have hated the game they played it first time around, and then proceeded to never even try it again but still hate it with the same passion. How about you guys give it another spin, install some of the mods that are turning the game into much better experience, and THEN judge it after that? I personally went from negative review on Steam to changing it to positive after I gave it a second shot a year later.

Actually i agree with the core sentiment, is one of the npc scripts to hate on this game. That said, games are ALWAYS judged on a relative level to the budget and prestige they carry, imagine if someone said that the game Journey from 2012 was absolutely atrocious because it didnt have as good graphics as Crysis 2 and not as good physics as gta 4, that would've been absurd. Starfield is not an indie game, yet many fundamental pillars of it are well below AAA and even AA games, Bethesda is not strapped for cash, its a billion dollar company with the full backing of THE most powerful company on the planet, to say it did not MASSIVELY underdelivered would be delusional.

Opened video out of curiosity, comment section is about what I expected. A year after this game keeps living rent free in their minds, they just can't move on and at this point I'm starting to feel sorry for them.

For how long they development was, we ended up with something that people enjoyed less than Skyrim. It's not a "bad" game, but it hasn't hit the same mark as Elder scrolls or Fallout. Not even close.

Idk man, the game got boring for me after about 100 hours. No bueno. Dlc has been getting terrible reception. If you like it, dont let haters get you down for it. But dude, let the people speak! Hold bad design accountable

I quit at the end of one of the main faction quest, when the NPC was dramatically giving a speech. Then I killed him in 30 seconds and since it was scripted, the character stood up, then lied down while giving a death speech, then stood up again to just drop dead. It was awful. 0 inmersion. Good thing I played it via Gamepass.

"Forced hate" The story was incredibly boring aith no memerable factions. The tons of worlds that are generated have next to nothing on them. Game was just bad.

Starfield isn't Bethesda's greatest title, but for the first in a hopefully long line of games, I think it really can be good. Only if they focused on a maximum of 10 planets, 4 with random generation only, and the majority with handcrafted cities and buildings. I also wanna add that Starfield is getting a lot of unnecessary hate, people have made 20 videos hating on this game, and the only thing that changes isn't the content of the video but the title, that being said, every reason you brought up in this video does not prove that starfield receives false hate or unwanted hate. 1. The PC Gamer post wasn't about players on other platforms, it was about the reviews Starfeild has received, and you compared it to the god of War, if we look at both games even if the god of war had a low-player base, its reviews are all positive whereas for Starfeild it's completely negative with as handle full of positive viewers. 2. at the beginning of the video you said people have been saying something like " so and so hated the game so I don't like it" Then in your second response about Matty, a person who fought for Starfield and stood by it till the DLC, you say something like 'oh matty says this but this other guys said the opposite and so matty sucks' like if its a fact there are companions in the new DLC then why didn't you name that companion, why didn't you state that characters location and story? Instead, you said he said she didn't prove an argument. 3. your argument mostly relies on everybody being wrong and I'm right. I just find that kinda silly 4. "accidentally finished the game in an afternoon" isn't a statement of joy about a game, the person who said it is making a joke. so when they say they accidentally finished a game they mean the game is lacking in substance. 5. This use of statistics is wrongfully used and you shouldn't just trust a tittle based on numbers you like to hear. Starfield had a player count of 330,723 on release, and the peak DLC is at 21,792, that 100% increase is like 1,000 players, which is such a gross misuse of information and is meant to trick you into falling into an echo chamber. Starfield on Xbox is next to Farming Simulator on the top charts and hasn't moved since the release of the DLC. it also helps that the entire game, excluding DLC is free for game pass users. TL/DR: You misused information and based all your arguments on your feelings over facts. Starfield is a bad game, and it's okay to enjoy it but you can't tell people its good because you think it is.

I heard it was bad when it came out but still paid the $100 or more price tag to play it on release day. I was excited and it fell flat instantly. The npcs looks like horror monsters, the story was mid, the exploration is so boring and repetitive. Combat felt like it should have come out 10 years ago. It was honestly just sad because I skyrim is probably my favourite game of all time. At this point I have little hope ES6 will be any good.

I personally like the game. Got like 1000 hrs in it. I do have my criticisms for it but overall I've had probably more than my $70 worth of fun with it. It’s not forced hate. People have been “hating” Bethesda games since before Starfield released because they want the games to be better and possibly take less than 2 and a half decades to release (TES 6) between other major releases (TES 5). E.g. not even comparing the Bethesda games against newer games but games by Bethesda themselves makes Starfield look worse in comparison to many of the other Bethesda games.

The hate IS overblown. I have thoroughly enjoyed this game and have hundreds of hours in it and counting. It's not for everyone, it's that simple. It's not perfect, but I have loved it not for what I wanted it to be, not for what it might have been, not for what the hype leading up to release theorized the game would be... I have loved this game for what it IS. With how many games are out there, there's something for everyone and something, but that doesn't mean any of those games are for EVERYONE.

Man I have tried to play Starfield at least 5 times. It's just to boring to play. I simply can't stay awake when I play it. Forget hate, it's just boring.

I think it's less forced hate and more hate = clicks and Bethesda dropped an easy target. It is a sub-par game for Bethesda. Where the "forced" part comes in is people acting like 6 out of 10 games that come out now aren't just as fucked as Starfield is. Every single video ive seen that talks about Starfield, always articulates the issues with it. Theres so many things wrong with this game. Youre not actually flying to different planets. You cant even land your ship where you want. Youre forced into empty sandboxs around the planet, and you cant fly on the surface or in the atmosphere of planets. HOW are you gonna make a “next gen” space game, and all these mechanics are missing. Theres simply nothing to do in this game thats fun. I am a HUGE Bethesda fan btw. Fo4 is my most replayed game. Ive been playing Skyrim since it came out. I was hyped for Starfield from the start. They dropped the ball HARD with this one

After what Bethesda did with Fallout 4, and Fallout 76. They had this coming for a long time. Deserves every bit of it. If you don't want them to learn from their mistakes and please the fans, then don't make a video when Elder Scrolls 6 comes out and how you have to defend that game from all the hate that it will get when it comes with the same quality Starfield gave people.
