It sounds like your platform makes it easier for researchers in one respect, but it's a concern if your product is fully AI-driven like you said. So how reliable is the result of a qualitative research summary? It all depends on whether the artificial intelligence has understood or misunderstood something, and the people involved make decisions based on this. Sorry, I've had a few bad experiences with useless AI driven tools. I think AI is still not able to do a trustworthy job. That's why I'm so skeptical. In addition, the use of these types of platforms results in the elimination of the need for human user researchers in the future :(

why today in dovetails the human must to spend value time to made manually analysis. If you dont change to the future, AI analysis VOICE, VIDEO, FEED IT WITH BEHAVIOR ATTITUDE WITHOUT BIAS, IT WOULD MIGHT BE BETTER. AND , SURE, HUMAN CAN WRITTE AND EDIT, ADDING AND DELETE THINGS... AND WRITTING PROMPTS. AND AUTOGENERATE TAGS. MORE BEYOND THE SOFTWARE HOW PEOPLE USE, BEING NEEDS OTHER KNOWEDELGES TO MADE "TEMPLATES IN ORDER AND CLEAR, CONCISE" THE FUNDAMENTS OF DOCUMENTATION. "is not easy to writte." Since hearchy, to ......psicology and more.... and then looking for.... taxonomys.... architec information.... headlines , descriptions. video.... more more more more..

A mental model I have of Dovetail is "the program that helps me make highlight videos." Sorry if that's not your grand vision of it, but as a freelancer it's my reality. For me the Reel should be a first class object in the navigation. I appreciate the interconnectedness of tags and highlights and insights, etc. etc. but sometimes I just wanna drag some clips together to create a highlights real and I wish this was could be done in an obvious way: Tag text -> create reel

Slavery > Foreign Worker Cheap Labour > Automation > AI; as this shows, to businesses the incentive for AI is to lower the cost of labour as much as possible to increase profits. This is coming from an experienced software engineer, product manager, user researcher and business owner. We are training AI to replace us in the workplace, in the future everyone willing to work, will probably be an engineer working on improving ai to accomplish new things. FYI. If a AI can define the research topic/hypothesis, conduct the research/experiments, synthesis the insights, communicate the findings to stakeholders, build the solution, analyse user activity and repeat, what are we needed for? people aren’t paid for just sitting around.

  • @MacMarty

I think the framing of "Is AI coming for our jobs?" isn't quite accurate. Just like the automation technology of the industrial revolution(s) AI is a tool, and just like with technological advances of the past the question of how it will be used will depend on the capital owners. If it saves them money and increases their profit margin AI technology will be utilized wherever possible. So it's not the AI "coming for our jobs" it's the greed of capital owners.

Great interview in understanding a particular use case! (3:35) The training wheel analogy is interesting because the training wheels are the solution to a temporary problem of learning to ride a bike. The problem they solve is that you only need to buy one bike! The cheap training wheels are a temporary usage feature/product. A great compromise analogy.
