The problem is always will and why to quit. Once you loose "everything" and you start lacking purpose of life, it takes amence willpower to withstand the longing of numbing yourself. I feel with these people, the ones that get out are truly lucky.

They at realized that alcoholics cannot stop drinking cold turkey. It can literally k!ll you. I was an alcoholic, and I’ve been clean for almost 5 years. I almost died. If i had a place like this, I’d still be drinking. I’m sad for their addiction because it’s one of the roughest, but I am glad they have a place to rest their heads and drink in a safe environment.

I was married to an alcoholic . tried everything to try and get him to stop nothing worked I had to walk away .It was horrendous and the effect on children goes deep.

The opening scene was like the last survivors of a party at 5am on New Years Day

Obsession of the mind. Allergy of the body. These people are drinking to satisfy a desire beyond their mental control. It's an illness & definitely a horrific one at that. Alcoholism centres in the mind & is progressive even when sober. The first drink does the damage sets off the physical allergy & makes it impossible to stop. But the main problem for every abnormal drinker is staying stopped. Alkis are driven by a hundred forms of fear & are seeking relief from reality. AA literally saved my life. God bless these people. I'm just like them. 🙏🏻
