The Unsung Champions of Public Transport in India:Celebrating Drivers' Day
Today, on January 24, as we observe Drivers' Day, we celebrate the unwavering dedication of 5.8 lakh bus drivers who connect seven crore public transport passengers daily! Through their resilience and commitment, they ensure the nation's journey keeps moving forward-bridging distances and changing lives.
These drivers are not just navigating roads; they are part of countless stories, impacting lives with every journey they take. Despite the challenges they face, they are woven into the very fabric that builds this nation stronger and better, driving social and economic change, one mile at a time.
We extend our deepest gratitude to @PawanKumar-xb1xn for recognising the invaluable contributions of Indian bus drivers in shaping a connected and inclusive nation. On behalf of the sustainable transport community and ITDP India, we wish all the bus drivers a very Happy Drivers' Day!

Hi Team @ITDP, Can we regualte the voice amplification? It suddenly dropped around 00:07 and we can barely hear anything till 06:21. It might work for people who are sitting in one place listening attentively. But people who are listening this on the go... there's a problem.
Thanks for the breakdown! I need some advice: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
Great initiative for common people ❤
Loved this!

This guy is a BLESSING. However, not all commissioners are alike, and they are not democratically elected.. so Mr. Shekhar Singh please educate the local politicians from all parties of what you are doing, so that the elected (but disempowered) mayors starts speaking the same language.
Metro line and TOD zone in 650m vicinity from metro station boundary are for using air-conditioned metro line for travelling instead of using car, motorbike and rickshaw. One can walk or cycle from house, shop or office to metro station, carry cycle in the metro train and cycle back to destination. Metro station has good accessibility with lifts, wheelchair friendly ramps, escalators, toilets and multiple options of booking tickets. Nowadays many tasks can be done online from home without the need to even travel. Online tasking, walking and cycling have to be used to a maximum and these save lot of money and other resources. Netherlands uses cycling to a maximim 365 days per year inspite of having rain every day, snowy winters with dark nights, windy or stormy conditions, over the rail track bridges, over the ship canal bridges. They have variety of cycles- hand operated, more than two wheels, more than two seats, wheelchair friendly cycle, etc. No need to take car or scooter loan, no loan processing fee, no loan interest, no vehicle insurance premium, no parking charges, no road tolls, no fuel tax, no puc charges, no need to purchase parking space in high rise redevelopment project, no worry about depreciation and fetchable resale value. One can easily walk 4-5km per day, cycle 15km per day. India has good weather compared to European weather conditions and has no gun crime unlike in USA. It is an insult to a car to travel alone in it walkable or cyclable distances or at second gear speeds used before turns or speedbreakers or get trapped in long duration road traffic jam. Car should be used when at least 4 passengers are going to travel to same destination at speeds between 40-100km per hour. Passenger occupancy of each passenger vehicle in travel should be close to maximum allowable number of passengers for that vehicle. Cyclist has to wear safety equipment like helmet. Walking, cycling, swimming, stair climbing are good physical exercises. Cycling is also Olympic event that allows cyclist to win medal. Combination of online tasking, walking, cycling, metro or monorail, train, ship has enormous advantages.

www.livemint.com/auto-news/pune-ev-startup-launches-india-s-first-e-cycle-with-dual-suspension-11605713806838.html A Pune-based e-cycle startup called EMotorad (EM) has launched its flagship products - EMX (previously Moovway) and Doodle. They plan to launch three more products by December and February by the name of EM - Cosmos, T-Rex, and T-rex Pro. The company aims at introducing electric cycles, which currently cost way higher in the Indian market, at an affordable price by utilizing its local sourcing and manufacturing capabilities. The company claims that the new product features India’s first dual suspension in an e-cycle. The product uses Samsung batteries to provide over 45 kms of range which can be extended to over 70 kms if the rider provides paddle assistance. The e-cycle also offers up to 21-speed options to the rider. The company also offers a lifetime frame warranty with the e-cycle. The product gets dual disk brakes. The price for the new e-cycle starts at ₹50,000. Apart from the sale of the cycle, EM also plans to generate revenue by selling accessories for the e-cycle.

Wonderful! Designing an optimal environment for a thickly populated city/country is one of the hardest challenges, not just architecturally, but also mathematically. It's a complex problem. More power to you. Hope you guys get all the support from the government and the people. Ability to move freely and efficiently is fundamental to progress.
