Yes it cost God nothing to slaughter Herod but yet God left Herod alive, Mary and Joseph were the ones running from Herod ,God is truly a mystery.

Herod is the force that fights destiny. When Jesus Christ was born, His birth was signified by the appearance of a peculiar star. The Bible does not go into the astronomy of this event but records that some notable individuals from the east, observed the heavenly event and rightly interpreted it as the birth of a very notable person, a great king . They considered Him to be such an important individual that they journeyed from their home nation in the east, to the land of Israel in search of this child. When Herod heard this he quickly hatched a plan to terminate the great destiny. Those with great destinies are targets of Herod. Herod always tries to terminate your God given purpose. Mat 2:7-8: 7 Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, inquired of them diligently what time the star appeared. 8 And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also. Herod is very diligent in destroying destinies. This is why many people with the call of God upon their lives often go through great trials and difficulties in life. This is the work of Herod, trying to discourage them and to destroy the purpose of God for their lives. The wise men unknowingly and innocently, were about to become agents of Herod against the newly born Jesus. Those who would serve God must pray for mercy, wisdom and discernment because some who we meet may actually mislead us to our great loss. They may be agents of Herod (and may not even be aware of this). Many young ministers have been unwittingly led astray from their divine purpose and direction by older, notable ministers (1Kg 13:13-26). Fortunately God warned the wise men that they should not return to Herod. (Mat 2:12) He also instructed Joseph to flee into Egypt. (Mat. 2:13). Why did God instruct Joseph to flee into Egypt? This is the very same Egypt of which He warned Israel never to return to and never to turn to for help (Is. 31:1; Deu. 17:16). This could only happen because God was humoring Herod. Sometimes we need to run away to preserve our destiny. Herod is a very powerful force. He is the force that destroys mighty men of God. He destroyed John (Mat. 14:10) he killed James (Act. 12:2) and would have slain Peter as well if the Church had not risen up in unceasing prayer (Act. 12:3-11). When Herod is against you it takes fervent prayers to obtain your deliverance. Whenever God humors Herod, His children will experience great hardship. PRAYERS : I will not be James, I will not be John, I will not die from a refusal of Heaven to save me. I command the resources of Heaven be released to deliver me. Oh lord release every angel required to deliver me. Father Lord, deliver me out of the hand of every Herod coming after my life and destiny. Jesus rise up against every Herod who has risen up against my life and destiny. I command the release of the resources of Heaven against every anti - destiny force fighting my destiny. I come against every attempt of Herod to arrest me and to execute me. Oh Lord, do not humor any Herods in my life anymore.

Psalm 45v2......Oh Lord pour Your Graces into my lips to praise thy Holy Name to be thy Oracle, cut off and destroy every unclean spirit hijacking my life against Your Word.

Very very true why should I limit myself by depending on a minstrel to sing for me before I can operate as a prophet of God ,that is gross limitation, I refuse to limit myself in Ministry ooo, God forbid

Unfortunately their cover was blown and word went out that enemy elements were in the city and they were holed up in the house of the prostitute Rahab. The king of Jericho sent men instructing Rahab to produce the israelite spies. She hid them and informed the king's men that indeed two unknown individuals came to her. However she spread disinformation, claiming that the spies had left the city and the best course of action would be to pursue them. (Jsh. 2:2-6) Meanwhile she positioned them on the roof of her house establishing concealment beneath a bale of straw. When the coast was clear she returned to the rooftop and engaged the spies in a negotiation on behalf of herself and her family. She recognised the overwhelming fire power of the Israelites due to the involvement of the Almighty God in their battles. She expressed complete faith in their ability to defeat Jericho and demanded the preservation of herself, her family members (and being an astute haggler) and all their properties, as payment for her services to them. The men were grateful and being men of honor swore to uphold their side of the deal on the condition that she discuss this matter with not a single soul. They gave her instructions on what to do to preserve their lives while she schooled them on how to evade the city's recon teams who were already searching for them. COMMENTS: Going through the subsequent events leading to the fall of Jericho we will discover that the tactical contribution of this reconnaissance team in God's ultimate plan was ZERO. Beyond informing Joshua and HQ that the inhabitants of Jericho and other cities were demoralised and frightened they added nothing to the divine strategy and battle plan . Essentially, this mission was executed by Joshua and his generals. It was not commanded by God. Due to the pastors (Joshua) lack of faith, his insecurities and fears, Rahab and her family were saved. LESSONS: 1. God is able to bring help to men despite the failings of the man of God. 2. We ought always to focus on God not on men of God. 3. Rahabs conduct was not above board. She betrayed her nation to save herself and her family, yet God was pleased with her. 4. This is often the outcome of mixing human methods with divine mandates. 5. God, in His mercy can help even those under judgment if they apply wisdom and tenacity in seeking His help. 6. No one has all the answers but one thing to take away here is that God's purposes are most often hidden and require hard work, especially of the spiritual kind, to unearth. 7. God in His mercy can set aside His normal protocols to help a man 8. Meaning that every one of us ought to be diligently praying for His mercy every day of our lives. Enviable in being the right hand man of Moses (Ex. 33:11), arguably the greatest and most powerful prophet in the Bible. He had a front row seat to the glory and majesty of the Most High and His dealings with His servant. (eg Ex. 24:9-13) However, unenviable in the sense that he had to step into the shoes of Moses after his departure (Deut. 1:38). How does anyone do this? So his insecurities are wholly understandable. They were to take Jericho, so like his mentor before him, he sent out spies to gather intelligence on the objective. The only problem with this, is that, this was so very much against the methods of the Most High, Who had just brought them into the promised land. We must admit that this human foible actually adds color and variety to the narrative (as most of the failings of Bible characters do). Back to the subject at hand. The spies set up a reconnaissance forward operating base in the house of a prostitute named Rahab. Meanwhile note that God led them through the wilderness without sending spies or reconnaissance teams ahead. He did so even when hostile nations were involved. Why is this? Because there is nothing any man can spy out that He already doesn't know. LESSONS: 1. The further we are from the Lord (eg. Moses vs Joshua or even our seasons of grace vs our seasons of struggle), the more difficult it is to trust Him. 2. Trusting God can be easy in principle but difficult in practice 3. Even the greatest men of God sometimes struggle in their walk with the Lord 4. God most often tends to "overlook" the failures, idiosyncrasies, errors and mistakes of His ministers 5. God has all the answers but getting them from Him is often complicated. PRAYERS : Lord help me in my inadequacies. 2Cor 3:5: 5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; O Lord let my insecurities never push me to fail You 1 Kg. 12:26-30 Lord Jesus give me the wisdom to fulfill my destiny in righteousness. Rahab will not be wiser than me ,she secured divine preservation and exemption for she and her family meanwhile she was a prostitute but was wise enough to secure divine attention and reward, God forbid she will be wiser than me. 2 kings 22 from V 14.... Huldah the prophetess had a good marriage therefore her ministry was not abhorted , her office as a prophetess was even more fulfilled because her husband understood her ministry and was helping her to fulfil it ,no rivalry, no contention nor strife.

This is very very true, Rebecca didn't submit her dresms, visions ,ministry to her husband and it brought chaos ,it divided the home and brought confusion and enemity unlike in Judges 13 where Manoahs wife submitted hers to her husband and they teamed up together to fulfill it .
