Well yeah, think about it Bali has all these foreigners that come and visit it… the fees first of all filters out undesired badly behaved drunken ones that has no regards for the Balinese culture, thus the ones that do pay to come and visit these cultural places means they really wanted to be there… so which means because you paid you better behave courteously or you get you’re ass kicked and don’t get you’re money back… plus it works also on a crowd mentality… imagine you see one tourist badly behaving and then one of the local might warned them to watch their behaviour but foreigners being foreigners see that it might not be polite…Balinese would rather avoid this altogether to keep a gracious image by charging fees to pay security, better the infrastructure (footpaths etc.) so if the environment is respectable, foreigners would therefore behave respectably too. Another would be, Bali is already hella cheap so I’m sure an extra few bucks not gonna make foreigners starve even with all the so called extra fees it is still cheaper than most holiday destination…, supply vs demand basic economic that Balinese learnt overtime from running a world class destination… quiet frankly I don’t think Bali really cares about cheap tourist anymore, the cheaper they are the more entitled lower class stature that just takes kindness for granted… The Balinese learned that kindness to foreigners eyes are weakness and not strength, they’re not as dumb as they look so they turn the table instead, I wouldn’t blame them either. If I was a local I would do the same after giving tourist the benefit of the doubt but took my kindness for granted, I wouldn’t look at foreigners the same way again. Nusa Dua and Sanur proves to be a bit more different as it’s the higher end of tourist spot thus there’s more better consensus, better desired behaved tourist = better consensus from locals. Just don’t come to Bali if you expect free of everything, it is also not an English speaking country so misunderstanding can occur… remember this is the “Island of the gods” they would rather preserve their ancient tradition than welcome unsavoury tourists… you guys might wanna try India instead probably it’s a better match 😊

Well we spent one week last December on Phu Quôc and it was fantastic. It just depends where you spend it. The beach of the resort where we stayed was private of course and very clean. I understand that this is your personal experience but may be there are better places but you just haven’t seen them.

A new place which I’ve become actually obsessed with is Pizza Cult in Ubud. Amazing food, great service, such a cute venue and really affordable. Also a great place to bring your laptop and work from!

Are you from spain, portugal? Anyway food here usually must have onion or garlic unless vegetarian food of course. So plp will find it difficult to cook something tasty with no garlic or onion.

Cool video I have been to Thailand 4 times and Malaysia 5 times - and KL is my personal favourite city visited then it is Bangkok. The early part of the video....that looks like Koh Tao, is that correct?

Awesome I did a day trip when I was staying in Langkawi in Jan 2017 for 1 week from Telaga Harbour which made the journey shorter to 1 hour staying there for 6 hours - I guess you guys went from Kuah Jetty I suspect. And then I stayed in Koh Lipe in Feb 2018 but went from Ao Nang (5 nights), then to Koh Yao Noi (1 night) then to Phi Phi (3 nights), then to Koh Lanta (1 night) and then a long bumpy speedboat ride to Koh Lipe stopping at Koh Muk, Koh Kradan and Koh Ngai along the way
