ik it's literally been half a decade since you last uploaded, but I do hope you return to yt some day (if you want to, etc)! This video feels like it was made by somebody with _years_ of experience, crazy that this was your first upload
I played almost 60 hours of Outer Wilds, but this game has had a place in my mind for much longer.
Damn, the thumbnail guy is hot
What happened to this channel? Is it abandoned? This video is great.
i was your 500th subscriber and i cannot believe it! such immense production value, such incredible quality! wishing you the very best
How does this video not have more views? The script sells us your ideas clearly and concisely. The editing of the creators’ testimonials combined with your own thoughts helped me understand more why I love this game so much. Can’t wait to see what else this channel produces.
18:05 noo you forgot the space suit D:
holy hell i did not expect that low of a sub count well, sir it maybe too late but youve got one from me. Venture on!
I finished the game yesterday night and i cant stop thinking about my experience with it. OW is really special
Amazing video! And one of the few I can actually show my friends who havent played it
I have never been more surprised at a subscriber count. I got halfway through this video and thought to myself “ah, this must be one of the multi-million sub documentary channels I just haven’t heard of yet, I’d better subscribe so I remember to check them out more later.” My jaw was on the floor a moment later. Less than 500 subs for a video this high quality is absolutely criminal, and I hope the low numbers aren’t what dissuaded you from pursuing more projects like this. I’m very confident that if you put out a video like this every so often, heck, even just once a year, your channel would absolutely explode. This video is incredibly well made, I really hope we get to see more of the same quality from you whenever you’re able to.
What a beautiful produced video! So much Attention to detail! New subscriber right here!!
Great vid! At Minute 22 he mentiones how zelda has come up with the same ideas they did. After having played tears of the kingdom I can definitly say it was an accident and mobius are far smarter than nintendo! New Zelda puzzles are inferior to outer wilds
I really hope you make more videos because this was a wonderful video I enjoyed very much. Thank you for uploading this❤
2:00 you're missing a link in the ship log, from the village pointing up towards Esker
I wouldn't imagine a puzzle soulsgame !!
I like just love the words he said: "It's a Miracle, This is not the way videogames is suppose to be made" and he said "Lets see how far we can push this" 17:03. 17:35 That guys shirt makes me wanna stair at it for a while to see if I can make an image of it in my mind like a four leaf clover lol.
I've never been the kind of person who enjoys open ended games, I struggle to enjoy open world games and I don't tend to have fun just exploring and yet outer wilds has easily become my favourite game of all time. initially it was fun to just mess about with the unique physics and get killed in funny ways and just experimenting. and by the time that started to get old for me I was already gripped by the story enough to want to follow those threads. Im glad I experienced it this way as well. by the time I started to follow up on some of those curiosities I had already acquired decent amount of clues but they were scattered and a bit random. i never solidly followed one thread I always jumped between them so for my entire time playing the game I was very confused with where all of this was leading but by the time I got to the end they all came together at the same time and I had this massive moment of realisation and pure excitement as I suddenly had answers to all of my questions.
holy shit how does this only have 11k views, this is seriously underated, although it seems just youtube in general doesn't seem to give Outer Wilds the love it deserves, maybe doing videos about other games would be interesting.
When I first finished Outer Wilds I though that was one of the best games I ever played...now months later and still thinking about it I can say: This is the BEST game I ever played
Ember Twin used to be even thoughter to navigate? Jesus
I was surprised to see this is the sole video for this channel. Not only is this an excellent video essay for what I think is one of the best all-time games, but I feel as though this channel had a huge amount of potential. Crossing fingers for a revival? heh
I remember my first explorations of Brittle Hollow I actually went below the surface in my ship and landed inside the Nomai Base under the pole A while later I still couldn't figure out the Ash Twin teleporters so I ended up landing upside down to reach the black hole forge. Sso hey! if uh.. you ever want someone to playtest your new games then uh... Also idk why but I find the Nomai really adorable
This feels like a noclip documentary, incredibly well made. I was dismayed to see that this is the only video you ended up making on this channel. thanks for putting in so much effort on my favorite game of all time
Based on what I've played of this game and it's massive success I'm excited to see what they do in the future.
Really good video on this game. Souch love for this game out there. New sub for sure.
Nice video! Your audio balance is strange though, when music is playing it is difficult to hear what people are saying, especially during the intro. I'm using headphones and don't normally hear this issue.
it's a game "free of conflict" until the damn sun station enters the game
This was great but I see that it's already more two and a half years old and there was never any other content uploaded. Are you ok? I'd love to see more from you.
Hey! I'm alive. Right after this video released I had a kid, got a new job in the industry, and then COVID happened, so it's been difficult to pull another larger project like this together. I have one in the works right now, though!
@@nothingventured9753 Ah, great! Congratulations on the kid and the new job. :)
I'm a lifelong lurker. I barely ever comment on anything - partly because my one comment is going to get lost in the sea of others, partly because I can't be bothered anyway. But here I really want to chime in. Dude, you've got the talent (attention to detail and a feel or design) AND the skill (you took an idea, turned it into a project and crafted a tangible, thought-out piece out of it). I was hooked from the intro. Life's understandable. You've got things going on and that's perfectly fine. You're doing what any proper person would. But if you ever decide to take this up again, know you've got loyal fans that'll be excited for whatever you'll come up with. Best of luck!
Wow. THANK YOU! That seriously means the world. I’ve had a few false starts with projects since this one (developers can be tough to pin down when you don’t have a big following), but I’m working on one I’m excited about!
well said!
4:58 im still chewing my way through the DLC but this is the FIRST time I noticed that you can actually find Gabbro's ship!!
I like how every single video talking about Outer Wilds put the End Times music at 20 minutes =D
outer wilds devs deserve more docs, props for being the first one to interview the engineers on screen that im aware of!
It’s come to my attention that this is the only video posted to this channel. This was an amazing video with an amazing subject matter! I would love to see more videos like this on here! I also hope that this video gets more views, it is really shocking how little views there are, even with this amount of effort and amazing-ness that went into this video!
Kelsey: So can we do the storytelling without walls of text? Alex: Well yes, but actually no.
Great video, can't wait to see more project from you!
This just might be the best video game essay I have seen on Outer Wilds. Hell, it might be the best video essay I have seen, period - and I have seen *a lot* of them. Your excellent pacing makes this an absolute delight to watch. I can only imagine how much it must suck to get as few views and subs as this after putting what I expect are countless hours into this. I subscribed hoping that one day I see a new video of yours appear on my feed.
Thank you!! I so appreciate this comment. I had a couple new videos in the works for Pathologic 2 and another game, but several life things happened all at once (in addition to getting very low views haha) so I had to step away from the project for a time. People seem to have started noticing the channel again, so I've started work on a new project that could be really fun! Dev interviews should begin some time in December.
@@nothingventured9753 That's fantastic to hear! I'm looking forward to seeing those videos.
I just stumbled across this video after looking for Outer Wilds content to binge again after finishing their Echoes of the Eye DLC. I can't believe how few views this has, from the bottom of my heart this is a really well constructed piece; Your commentary in narration, interviewing, and editing is really strong, and you've blended them all together really effectively. It's seriously unjust that this has so few views, and I noticed you haven't posted anything since this video. I really hope you put more things out, because this video essay is easily on par with some of the really decorated and lauded content out there, you've found a really strong voice already with this first piece, and I think we'd all be missing out not hearing what else you have to share.
Wow THANK you!! That's incredibly heartening. I pressed pause on this project due to low views on the first vid, getting a new job in the industry, and also having a kid. Life hit all at once, and something had to go. Your comment has really inspired me, though... I think it's time to jump back in. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, right??
@@nothingventured9753 Hell yes!! Can't wait to see what you do 💙
Please keep working on this channel! @Nothing Ventured
Couldn't have said it any better. This is really high quality, and his commentary is actually quite precise. It expressed what I felt about the game better than I could.
Why doesn't this have a lot more views? This is like an extension of the documentary 😄
This is a beautiful video. Thanks for your work
The line "I don't know how to survive this place without you. (I don't know how to be myself without you)" hasn't left my brain since I read it. Truly the writing of this game is stellar.
I was petrified for a while when I read that and Im pretty bad with names but if I remenber correctly the name of the missing never escaped my mind. Was it Foli? And there was also a Keek
Where was it? I cant remember, I know I have read it somewhere but where?

Brilliant documentary and commentary, love it. Can't wait to see what comes next!
Why is there only one video in your channel
Wow what a great quality this Video has. In technical and even more the content itself. Thumbs up for that. Looking forward for more of that! :) I absolutely share your view on games I think. So in the way of appreciation for games which do creative things on their own ways. Outer Wilds got like my favourite Game of all time. And Pathologic 2 is maybe the most interesting one. It seemed to me that this channels intention was to show these standout games in the aspect of creativity and uniqueness. I dont know if you will produce something again here but for the case (and this video) i´ll gladly follow you here for the hope of more :) Anyway all the best for whatever!
Such a good video man! I enjoyed every minute as I enjoyed every minute playing the game <3
What are those games in the first few second of the video pls? I know one of them is "What Remains of Edith Finch" but no other.
INSIDE, Pathologic 2, Heaven's Vault, What Remains of Edith Finch, and Disco Elysium.
Best game I’ve ever played. Definitely deserves more attention.
I really like your presentation. All the best bro. Subscribed. post more videos. more videos = more authority
Thanks so much! I've unfortunately (and also very fortunately) had an extremely eventful year since this video, which has kept me from devoting a ton of time to the next NV projects. A production job in the industry + our first baby has eaten up ALL of my free time lately. However, I'm finally finding some balance now and have a few more videos I want to finish up and post. More soon, and thanks for the sub!
Enjoyable of video, but the music is tad too loud.
hey buddy! still waiting with bated breath for your next project! 😉
