Wreck Argo 2024
Argo was a former Isle class trawler, probably HMS Flint build in 1942 in Quebeck, Canada for Royal Navy. Isle class trawlers were used as an escort vessel. After 2ndWW HMS Flint was sold to a Norwegian shipowner Waldemar Skogland in Haugesund and rebuild into cooler/freighter ship.
In January 1948 ARGO was on her way from Venetia to Rijeka carrying tomatoes when she went on a mine and sank in the Kvarner bay. Only 1 man from the crew of 12 survived.
Today Argo is lying on 49meters depth. From explosion scraped in two parts almost same size, 25 meters each. Distance between the bow part and stern part is around 80 meters.

Golumbera Cave, hidden in the cliffs of the Kamenjak National Park (Croatia), is a wonderful discovery for the rare lucky ones who find it. There is a hole at the top of the cave, so the protruding rays of the sun turn the water into a turquoise fairy tale. The dive through the cave was fabulous!

The Draga was a sand-dredging boat. It sank in the 1960s due to poor weather and overloading that caused a breach in the prow, after which the vessel began to take in water. This wreck is exceptionally rich in fish. Its permanent inhabitants mostly include eels, scorpion fish, lobsters and crabs.

Ok folks, take her up, restore her or not... but then, when a museum finally will get this 'jackpot': Please remember mankind and all the honestly enthusiastic flight-history-fans: The Stuka was not only a Tank-killer in WW2. It was a first line Terror-Instrument against civilians as well. Ask the Polish... So if you lift her up, please, 'unbedingt': Lift up the Fear as well, she caused among civilians. Ej ! Listen and think: This can be solved by one group of sculptures, by foto-panels... best: not digital ! Make it in 'Augenhöhe', in 1:1... Show people looking up to the sky... in fear. Show the casualties and those fiew whitnesses, who survived this kind of terror: May grandma called it 'Lightning' in WW2. My wife, born in Idleb, calls them 'Suchoi', Vietnam... The StuKa is an archetype, a symbol for something, a beginning of something... ugly as cruel as ignorant... Presenting a Stuka is a giant chance to show up, that homo sapiens still did not manage the terror of ужас.

Ironic in a way, these planes caused so much suffering and destruction. And nowadays we would love to see them restored or fly again...we live in mysterious ways..
Imate lep hobi potapljaštva, pa Vam malo zavidam, ko pogledate notranjost teh jezer....Lep video, kljub mračni vidljivosti gladine! Tu predstavljate jezero ob Ribiški koči, ki je sicer bilo prvo Velenjsko turistično jezero po letu 1954. No, še tri leta zraven, pa je bilo usodno tam v moji rojstni vasi Škale 12, imenovano Pleterje(ker so pri vsaki domačiji pletli pozimi pletarje, ki se je rabilo za testo pred pečenjem kruha). Zakaj usodno? Naša domačija se je čez noč razsekala, razpokala zaradi močnega razstreljevanja lesenega premoga/lignita v RLV. Pod NUJNO so moji predniki morali sami iskati drugo domačijo, kjer bi lahko živela sedemčlanska družina Brišnik/Stropnik. Meni je bilo tedaj osem let, dovolj velika starost, da se predobro spominjam dogodka, čeprav mnogi o oderuštvu tistega obdobja molčijo. Še ODŠKODNINE, ne od RLV, ne od občine niso se vrnile! Zakon o tem je bil sklenjen za nove preseljence po letu 1968! Če si pa danes kaj ustvariš, pa te tudi ta družba luži na vse pretege... Bila bi najraje z Vami *potapljač*, ❤ SREČNO!

The lesson of this tragic accident is that it is necessary to follow the instructions and orders of the competent authorities, to act responsibly and cautiously, especially during times of war when conditions are extremely tense and dangerous. In the case of the Baron Gautscha, numerous mistakes occurred that contributed to the sinking of the ship and the death of a large number of passengers and crew members. Among other things, the captain did not follow instructions, the first officer went to dinner with first-class passengers, and the second officer operated the steamship too close to the coast, despite being instructed to sail 15 nautical miles away from the shore. Additionally, only one of the eight lifeboats was successfully launched, and it mostly contained crew members. THANK YOU FOR THIS VERY INTERESTING REPORT FROM HISTORY AND THE SEA.

There is a crash site of a stuka in the sea next to my house but its only used as a great fishing spot.

So in april 1941, this would have been the B variant of the stuka dive bomber before the bigger fuel tanks were added on the R and later D variant. This was a very accurate dive bomber. If the luftwaffe would have maintained air superiority, this plane would have still been effective in 1945 and no need to waste the Focke Wulf 190 fighter plane by converting it to the F variant fighter/bomber role.
That's an awesome find and should be salvaged and saved
+@rodgergriffin8741 It is in Croatian waters and property of Croatia. There has been discussion of salvage after discovery but then it was left there. I think some historical groups in Croatia may still be working on a future salvage. Yes, it should come out. It flew with the Italians, so it would have Italian AF markings.

Ravno na obletnico napada na Šibenik ste obiskali to lepotico. Kot vidim ni kompletna saj ji manjka kompleten vertikalni stabilizator in sprednji del motorja. Propeler je verjetno propadel saj je bil izdelan iz lesa. Ampak z malo truda bi se dalo letali izvleči iz morja in postaviti v muzej kjer bi bil lep eksponat.
Da, Stuka je v praktično enem kosu in bi si zaslužila mesto v kakšnem muzeju.

@@alespersin6066 ne, ne poznam saj nihče ne more z zagotovostjo trditi kdo ga je sestrelil. So samo domneve...
@@matjazbravc Domneve so dokazi pa tudi.. Za datum se tudi ne ve točno ali je bilo 7 ali 12 Aprila 41. Enkrat je bil napaden Šibenik drugič Jadrtovac. Sestreljene naj bi bile dve oziroma celo tri Štuke. Ena je ta ki ste jo obiskali, druga je bila zadeta in je pilot pristal ter se pri tem prevrnil in ostal ujet v kabini. Našli so ga itelijani ko so zasedli Jugoslavijo en teden po napadu. Tretja naj bi strmoglavila v zaledju Šibenika. Ali je bilo to zartes letalo in ne bomba ki je odpadla iz njega. Uradnih podatkov v BG ni oziroma nikogar to ni zanimalo ker je Jugoslavija že kapitulirala. Za to na Žirju je bilo rečeno da je posadka preživela vendar glede na stanje letala tega ne verjamem. Vidi se da je z veliko hitrostjo padla v morje ker je prednji del odtrgalo in tudi dosilec bombe pod trupom je pred letalom. No v glavnem za to potopljeno vem že od 2014 ampak niso hoteli pokazati slik da je res tam.

This plane is history and MUST be salvaged ! More than 6000 stukas were made, only two in their original condition still exist. No need to say more...
We all agree that it would be worth salvaging and restoring the Stuka.

Sssssooooooo were is this anyway? Amazing footage.😮 As they say, sombody must save this Stuka Junker 87. With some kind of expertise, can this wreckage be restored to how it was when it left the air flotilla that morning in 1943? It reminds me😊 of when I snorkeled off Crete almost 22 years ago with a guided tour where there was a downed wreckage of a Messerschmitt BF 109 at a snorkeling depth of around 10 - 12m. It was in surprisingly good condition though for being lying around as long as on the bottom, i.e. not a cracked hull or the engine next to the cockpit. The propeller was intact but of course bent on all sides. The glasses were preserved in the cockpit except for bullet holes. However, no bomb underneath. Was there any bomb left under the Stuka?😮
Stuka rest at a depth of only 33m south of the island of Žirje, Croatia. There are no more weapons, instruments or bomb on it. Except for the engine, which is located 20m from the plane, the plane is in one piece. We all agree that it would be worth saving.
@@matjazbravc Hmm Croatia, it must have been either shot down by an Spitfire or a P51 or maybe from a brittish battleship? No bulletholes? Out of gas maybe? Any idea on how the engine got 20 m away from the plane?

As there are only 2 known Stukas in the world one of which is on display at the RAF Museum, Hendon, this one deserves to be recovered before it’s too late. It is in remarkable condition and recovery shouldn’t be too difficult. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
