Listened to Cory and Foden performances and although I don’t know the score on musical grounds Cory is the better band. The clarity of sound is far superior.
7:30 Just listening to this juxtaposition of the different voices and strong, smooth playing is beautiful, absolutely beautiful!
To be honest, first time I have listed to the piece all the way through. About 10/11 mins in it sounded very Robert Simpson, which is a compliment, as I love pieces like Energy. Cory sounded great.

Philip Harper, sometimes your conducting is so fluid it seems like you're pulling the music or have your arms under water pulling. What beautiful, accurate and masterful conducting. At the end you drive to hold the last note reminiscent of Ray Cramer.
Superb performance, loved every minute of it. Almost as good as it was on the day!!
Magnificent as usual from Cory Band so consistent.Congratulations to Fodens also, apparently the result could have gone either way.The Brass Band movement is still going strong and the competition so high with so many brilliant bands throughout the world now.Long May it be.

Starting to get on my nerves and it’s only a recording 🤣.. we had a guy sat in the box next to us eating crisps during the pianissimo section.. 🙄
@@connorwhitworth3172 I would have to tell them. Why does everyone start to cough too in the quiet sections? 🤣 There's enough time between the bands to have something quick to eat!

The piece has a bit of that 'Connotations'-Vibe/Feel to it which is excellent

@@Subw00frr Yeah i play cornet for another championship section band We won our area contest this year but the finals got cancelled
