Is replacing the trigger hard?

My RIA 1911 GI is having FTF issues anyone else?

Added brand new extractor from Wilson combat but never did any adjustments. 1911 been down for two years now.

I have a full size springfield 1911. When I would "rack" it 7/10 it would jam when it finally did "rack" properly it would shoot max 2 rounds then jam. I took it apart and found brass shavings all in it. I took it to my local gun smith he did some polishing and "sanding". It now racks and shoots like an absolute dream. I probably will never buy another 1911 or semi-auto. As far as handguns go i'm sticking with revolvers . The whole thing really scared me honestly.

This was very helpful for detail stripping and reassembling my Arcus 94 (an interesting Bulgarian HP clone).

Never get lube on the ramp or chamber. I've been professional a 1911 mechanic since the early it's Trained by some of the best 1911 smiths in the world. A common myth is the bullet slides up the ramp. It doesn't. And I can prove it. The bullet hits the ramp, bounces off and then hits the top of the chamber, then the throat cams it under the extractor.

Great video lots of invaluable information. Looked everywhere on the internet yours was the only one I could find this in depth. I have I have a high power with the original small safety lever and I want to install a larger paddle at least on the left side. I know what has some fitting involved so I may just send this one out to someone that's familiar with the platform I don't mind trial and error but I don't want to waste $80 on a safety if I bugger it. Not that I will but for the extra money just get it done.

Please never take sand paper to the feed ramp. A little red rouge will smooth it out.

Use the pad of your finger n not the crease at the joint while pressing the trigger

That Hi Power has a sweet parkerized finish and not that bake on like on mine

I have a Girsan MCP35, so it may be different, but the placement of the front of the trigger spring baffles me. Does it really just sit on top of the frame just in front of the trigger slot? It's not hooked onto anything, just scraping along the lower frame. Is that right??

I just bought a Springfield SA-35 Hi Perf clone. Love it. Gonna polish gloss black, smooth rosewood grips...But going to have to do it all myself. Seems no one in Tuscon refinnishes guns anymore ? The KungFlu shut them down ??

With all the modern CNC machines and modern production methods these days why does 1911s have feeding issues? I bought a Tisas 1911 B45 duty. It’s well made, heavy, robust, and extracts perfectly. But feeding issues had to be resolved by having the barrel entrance smoothed out a lightly filed back by my gunsmith. After that it works perfectly 101% even when dirty. No production gun should have these issues out the gate here in 2024 tho.

Nail sets are made to sink the heads of finish nails below the surface of the wood you are nailing together. They come in various sizes from very small diameters to pretty large diameters. That Hi Power does not seem to have the magazine safety installed in it anymore.

It doesn't show the barrel length with the 3.5 bullnose for the officer model 45

Note the mag safety release was removed already and not reinstalled when the trigger was replaced.

Would have been nice if you have used the 1911 5inch model.

Common 1911 problem: Cheap ass gun. Solution: Spend money on a higher end gun. ($2,000+) Still, good video.

Good video. I used it to help in replacing the safety lever spring in my Girsan MC P35. I used a clamp with one end hooked into the magazine well and the other on the hammer (both well padded to prevent damage) to hold the hammer back during reassembly. Hope that information helps someone in the future.

Looks great, I was considering getting a cut slide from this company for my SA 1911 Loaded Target in 45, but my understanding is it doesn't really do much, they work better with 9mm is what i have read.

Took the mag disconnect out i see 👌💯 works more proficiently when changes mags. Drop free etc. I own one and it is picky about the ammo i use but other than that it runs all of my 33 round pro mags and mec gar mags perfectly.

Don't waste your money on a Colt.
