Excellent video and demo board. I have a question.. Is the Dragonfly system ok/safe with a dual fuel heat pump using gas furnace backup? Please advise. Thank you.
45:06: So, Type III has rupture discs on the evaporator barrel, but Type II rupture discs are on the condensers? Also are they still considered rupture discs on Type II or rupture valves?
Around timestamp 25:30: Why would the refrigerant capacity on the nameplate differ from what was originally put in the equipment? Are the capacities of systems increased without updating the nameplate?
Glad I heard it running louder then some other
Where do you mount that dragonfly board to
You went to fast!
What are you talking about. Esco themselves provide practice test with real questions and answers.
I hooked up and got ac to work but cant get the heat to work, i by pass the dragonfly and furnace works perfect?
And what if the sensor fails/stuck closed? And what about lineset leaks? Will there be sensors for that? Both refrigerants are heavier than air and I fear attics filling with flammable gas with no way of knowing it until it’s too late. Mark my words, technicians will eventually do leak searches starting from the front door for gas and refrigerant before turning on any attic lights or bringing electrical equipment up to the attic, and will charge HO’s accordingly. I hope Homeowners can sue the federal government for such short sightedness fueled by greed masked by environmental protection
I understand what you guys are trying to show and achieve but I’m not sure I agree with the way it’s done. I’d like to see a more real life situation. And not have you spraying directly on the sensor. I’d like to see how good a job that sensor does in a down flow application. And have the “leak” be more realistic like a very tiny pinhole on the back lower side of the coil.
All rights reserved Jessie James Stalder omega twelve technologies 1. Fluorinated compound synthesis?
Helpful video thank you. Just have two questions. Would you need one of these for R 454B? And do you need install one of these with an air handler heat pump system?
Yes you do need this for all A/C or heatpump systems because all new equipments will come with either R-32 or R454B and these A2L are not highly flammable likeR-22 but still be care full when brazing or repairing leaks
I was wondering if a smoke generating machine could be used in these areas to help find the leak
I Want EPA license to Freeon my own unit. What section is required ?
Core and Type 1 for residential/small appliances
What's up with all the ads? About every 2 minutes one was popping up. Very frustrating trying to listen when u get so many ads.
Great video thank you
More brilliance from the EPA. Don't let the fact that R-410a is twice as bad for the environment than R-22 ever was. They know what they're doing now. lol
410a is 'twice as bad'? Tell us more.
@@Factory400 Look it up on the GWP chart yourself.
these videos are godly for the test
Amazing video. Thanks so much for making this. It got me so much more comfortable with trying out comfortbridge to use a non communicating heat pump with my Amana AMVM 97. I’m guessing this is the “run time” control algorithm. Do you know how the “Rate of change” algorithm works, or can you make a video on that please?
The Goofy music makes this video unwatchable.
what wires from the thermostat are in the that black terminal?
Looks like they spliced and pig tailed cool and common, the other wire from the contactor is just our common 2 wire. The dragonfly is just receiving the 24v communication then sending to furnace pcb. This is what it looks like to me.
Q: You mentioned that the detector can detect a leak even if the indoor blower motor is in operation. Then shuts the system off, and then turns the blower that was already running back on :) Can the detector pick up a small leak with the blower already running? And at what leak rate do the detectors trip? 6oz /year, 1 lb/year 4 oz/min. ? Are the detector able to handle the condensation that's going to be building p on them? Whats next, will the boards activate that fire extinguisher like a restaurant grease hood?? Oh yea, one last question. What have the other countries been using if any for the last 10 years for detection of R-32 leaks?
Hi there. The EPA certification has to be renewed? How can I do that? Where? Thank you
Doesnt need to be renewed. Once you have it, you have it but it is your responsibility to keep up to date as regulations change. ( i take my 608 test today and this is coming directly out of the book. He also says in right in the beginning of the video.)
Ok Thank you!

Godman it’s a peace a crap, they make up stupid shit to sell, I don’t wanna talk about their compressor failure….
Can you use a 4 wire t'stat??
Should be ok Dragonfly gets power from furnace board.
This was Wonderful. I will share with my students in class
Quería saber para tomar las clases información o el libro en español EPA
Estoy interesado para agarrar la universal EPA
😂 Van a dar clases?
Johnstone Grimme Group has classes you can go to
Sadly coil manufacturers can’t make a better coil so we have to install expensive leak detectors in our equipment now……….
Goodman is ridiculous. They were not ready for this rollout. In a rush to make this new equipment, they can’t even provide warranty compressors for the 410A units.
And they want me to pay freight cost for a warranty compressor? Wtf is going on?
6-million square feet of ‘R&D’ with no space for warranty. Still haven’t seen sensors for leaking line sets and inherent safety features for power loss and stuck closed/failed sensors.
What are we doing when we cannot run the wire back...like in condos
Super helpful 🙏
Yeah mine keeps kicking the fan on and no LED on the integration board
Sounds super loud. Just as load as a non inverter unit.
replace the line set.
I did everything on this video but couldn’t get it to work. After the ac turns on for the test mode it wouldnt turn on with the tstat . Got 24v from fau to dragon fly but nothing out of dragon fly to tstat
Same with me
Generally, that means the test sequence was not complete, or the sensor is faulty. The t stat will never get power until the dragonfly completes its test sequence.
You mentioned that this is a 3 to 5 ton adjustable system. Does that mean that if I need 3 ton or a 5 ton system, I will still be buying the same physical model ( both indoor and outdoor ) and turn it into a 3 ton or 5 ton system by those dip switches ?
If those hours transfer union it's worth it
Thank you for the great explanations 🤙
Too much electronic crap to fail. Do newbie engineers not understand KISS ?
Slight leak higher up in the coil while.fan is running...that sensor ain't doing D
Plus the customer won’t notice outside unit cycling on and off, but they’ll call- “just not cooling well”
Nice job fellas
This video very helpful for us to understand A2L system works. Thank you guys!
How does one apply?
@JohnstoneSolutions.com
Ten speed ECM condenser fan motor = 2k replacement cost 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
ECM motor two speed = 1k to replace 😢😢😢
Increased performance, energy efficiency, but very expensive for repairs. Once you are out of the warranty period the repairs will cost you big bucks!! Never will recoup your money on energy saving with needed repairs. I never understood if all of these high efficiency units are so great, the manufacturers should include a 10 year labor warranty period along with the warranty on parts.
This is a super old video ... From covid lol you uploaded it 8 months ago??? Sheesh
