Rain Test! Magellan SwiftRise pro 3P hub tent
มุมมอง 4K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Did a test of my Magellan SwiftRise pro 3P hub tent in the rain. The short answer, we had a minor problem with the front door area pooling water and leaking. Let me know if you have the same issue and if so what you did to resolve it. I came up with a hack that may work. As a bonus, you get to see how fast it setups up in a down pour!
Do they keep the rain out? Magellan SwiftRise Pro 4P/3P Hub Tent - Rain Test
มุมมอง 25K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Tested our Magellan SwiftRise Pro 4P and 3P Hub tents in the rain. The first big rain to come up since we picked up these tents. We though we would check out how they do before we eventually get caught out during a storm. To be clear, I have not yet done any extra seam sealing or water repellant treatments, these tents are new and as-is out of the box. The short answer: Yes. They did much bette...
How to load them! Magellan SwiftRise 4P/3P Hub Tent collapsed size and vehicle loading.
มุมมอง 2.5K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Just a short video to show you a size comparison and some internal vehicle loading options for the Magellan SwiftRise 4 person and 3 person hub tents and a 3 person Ozark Trails Hexagonal Sport Done Tent. The Magellan SwiftRise 4 person Hub tent is 67.5" long when packed up which puts it at the same size as the Gazelle T4 (67.5"). These two tents seem to compare quite equally in space and desig...
Fastest 3 person Tent Setup and Teardown! Magellan SwiftRise 3P Hub Tent setup and tear down

Picked up another Magellan Outdoors Pro Explorer SwiftRise Hub tent (That naming convention is a mouthful). This time we got the 3 person (2 if you want any room at all) variant. This tent will take some of the stress out of your camping weekend! Don’t fuss with trying to figure out which pole goes where, threading poles through impossible fabric and trying with all your might to get the last p...
Fastest 4 person Tent Setup and Teardown! Magellan SwiftRise 4P Hub tent setup and teardown
มุมมอง 77K3 ปีที่แล้ว
This super fast setup and tear down tent from Magellan will add tons of ease to your camping. 60s and your up and ready. Tear down is equally fast. The Magellan SwiftRise 4 person Hub Tent is the easiest setup and tear down tent of its size that I have tried. It does great in windy conditions and has nice integrated led lighting. It has a similar style and size as the Gazelle T4. From bag to se...

    A tip that will probably help the door zipper issue. Have everything zipped closed before you stake it down. This will prevent you from slightly over stretching the door openings.

    I got got in some unpredicted high winds at Kerr Lake my last night & through the morning. I nearly lost it taking it down. I learned quickly leave bottom stakes in & take out as you fold it up. I camp alone and would have been heartbroken to have watched my new tent destroyed!! Another thing, the vents in the rainfly, opened helped create an even nicer breeze at night! I haven't had any moisture/water in the tent even with rainfly off. Overall love it . . . Great windows but I'm a little concerned about the 2 vinyl ones. The interior lighting a true bonus!!! Happy camping!! ⛺️

      Agreed on the stakes, in first, out last. We like the vent in the rainfly too, though occasionally we think some rain manages to sneak though it.

    This guy really know how to test a tent. Hate those channels who just opened a tent and says, 'Oh this tent looks nice and roomy'. Never test it in the real scenario. I would love to collaborate and make videos with this guy coz he knows how to show us real world-scenario.

    Try a noodle on the inside to puff out the extra fabric also softer on the material than your clips.

    Does the 4 person tent have a tarped bottom?

    • @spinfamtravels9057
      @spinfamtravels9057 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your asking if it has a specific tarp made for the exact foot-print of the tent, so you can put that down before you setup the tent, unfortunately we have not found one.

    • @toddwilliams7
      @toddwilliams7 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@spinfamtravels9057 No. I'm asking if the bottom of the tent is made from a tarp material rather than tent material.

    • @spinfamtravels9057
      @spinfamtravels9057 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh yes. You may be able to see from the videos that the flooring is made from a tarp like material, much thicker than the tent walls. I have found that when water sits under the tent for a duration, there was some moisture seeping though where our sleeping pad was.

    Just bought this tent for my first solo camping trip and I already love it, i was really nervous for the whole trying to set up a traditional tent with just me and no help and this tent has literally eased all my worries. It’s definitely more pricey than traditional tents but so far it seems worth it. Thanks for the video!

    • @spinfamtravels9057
      @spinfamtravels9057 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is great! We have used both traditional tents where you are dealing with running poles though tiny sleeves and semi-instant pop-up tents that left the tent fabric very loose. This by far is our favorite ground tent just for easy of setup and nice taunt walls that pull away from the living space.

    Take a small noodle cut the length to size and insert it into the void. That should keep the water from pooling on the edge.

    • @spinfamtravels9057
      @spinfamtravels9057 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yah, I am not sure. We were going to go with a Gazelle originally, but since I could swing by the store and get this and it looked very similar, we figured we would give it a try. So far, so good. Gazelle does sell a very expensive tarp foot-print that matches there tent size, but that is another hefty fee.

    I understand the gazelle is the crème de la crème, but I think for the casual camper, this tent is more than adequate. I like to occasionally car camp during fair weather. I'll buy the 200$ magellan vs the 400$ gazelle.
