I hard time with sheer id with homeschool planet they wouldn't accept it. Ended up ordering one from my group state association waitin for it to come in was less than $10. Hope it works.

My 3 girls love the Mathematical Reasoning workbooks. I plan on switching my oldest to Saxon next year (for 4th grade) but Mathematical Reasoning is a full curriculum that spirals. For math facts, I use kumon

We're Kumon fans too! This past summer break my boys had to do one Kumon math page and one Typsey lesson a day. They pushed back at first but soon found a flow. They both agreed that it kept their math facts fresh over summer and made starting a new Saxon level much easier compared to doing nothing over the break.

I'm bad about switching math frequently but I have a kid with apraxia and ADHD and if it starts getting too wordy or has too many activities it has to go. But it's hard because there are other things too that trip us up. Like, she hates flashcards. Right brain, left brain, it doesn't matter she shuts down. Right now we're combining Masterbooks with Kate Snows Addition and Subtraction Facts that Stick because she loves how Masterbooks teaches the lessons but memorizing the flashcards became a huge point of contention.

Hi there! For your kindergartner, have you ever considered using IEW PAL with him? We are thinking about switching from PAL to Logic of English. You've really convinced me about Logic of English, but I've seen so many videos promoting IEW PAL. I would appreciate your thoughts on this. You've made my first year of homeschooling much less intimidating than it felt when we first started! ☺️

My kids do Saxon and Nicole the math lady and it’s taking them both around 2 hours a day! How long does it take your kids! This is our 1st year homeschooling and I chose Saxon because they were doing it at school and they both are doing a year ahead so my 4th grader is doing the 5/6 and my 3rd is doing 4/5! They are doing all of the math facts then all lesson practice and even or odd on mixed practice! Do you assign all? I just feel like it’s taking way too long!

I'm also trying to gently scope out and plan years ahead, but feel like others think I'm trying to control the future or force my kids into what I think they need to study. It was reassuring to hear how you, also, like to plan ahead so that you can give the best options at the right moment (and be less stressed as a teacher).

I'm going to give homeschool planet another shot. I tried it last year and was completely overwhelmed. I'm at the point in the year where I am starting to work things out for next year and seeing how much we have left for this school year so it seems like a good time to try again and see if it can replace the spreadsheets I make my kids weekly.

I really want to know what your are thinking for LA 4th grade. We are trying TGATB level 4 and it is NOT working!!! We have to change after being with them from kindergarten. It is just not working!!!! Level three was his favorite he loves reading and the books were so fun and he would fly through the lesson to read. Level 4 has been pulling teeth everyday and I feel like he is learning next to nothing!

How is it adjusting to lots of snow in the winter vs zero where you moved from?

are there not units for the age range 6-8 which is essentially 2nd grade? i only see math units. then theyre selling the social studies and science. but they're big parent manuals that cost more. im just confused. please help!

I'm in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and our growing season is short as well, I have found with pepper plants starting them early indoors is great because they take forever and a lot of times don't produce well in our short season, however since you are already using grow bags and starting early, you should get some good growth. But definitely over winter your peppers and allow them to go dormant after the growing season is up, then in spring they will start flowering again and you should get a better harvest in the second year. Good luck in your garden, my garden had a hard time last summer, I'm hoping for a better harvest this year 🤞🏽

I like that you showed USING your freezer meals! That’s why I rarely make freezer meals because of thaw time. Can I get more content on how to always have a dinner plan? With Homeschool Planet I always have “a plan” but meals….so lost and forget to thaw meat!

Frost dates are important, but you also have to take into consideration your average summer temperatures. I'm in a 9a zone, but the average summer high is about 65-70. That means I can't grow a lot of stuff without some sort of green house.

Hello again. I'm over in Michigan. We did roma tomatoes and peppers in bags last year. The tomatoes did fantastic. The peppers were a flop. We have never gotten a good pepper harvest because we don't have long enough warm temps and they are too sensitive. I just wanted to give you a heads up because we are finally giving up on attempting peppers. I tried water melons for the first time last year and we had the same problem. That was our first attempt though so we aren't giving up on those yet.

Look into “Clyde’s garden planner” it’s only a few dollars and will help you tremendously on your gardening journey! Also, get the book “tomatoes, love carrots”

We are in zone 5b and we also have a short growing season in Denver. Our peppers and tomatoes don’t produce until the very end of the growing season😭 green beans, zucchini, and our herbs grow amazing here

Love this! More content like this and more what I eat in a day high protein videos. The recipes you try and use are doable for me and lots of kid friendly stuff as well.

Great tip about undercooking the bacon. I need to remember that. Also how do you like those egg containers? We debated getting them but we were uncertain about how they would work with some of the bigger farm fresh eggs. We didn’t want to spend the money if the eggs get stuck.
