    Ps: Linear compressors are touted as a superior system. I agree with this, but, they have been plagued with expensive, if not impossible to repair problems. LG's notorious class action civil lawsuit is an example. Avoid these until the issues have been worked out. You don't want to be a guinea pig.

    I've had a 30 Inch wide (yes 30) Frigidaire counter depth , french door, bottom freezer for 3 years. It has plenty of room. I admit, its sometimes packed, but there is no issue whatsoever with room. Emma should just stick with a basic Frigidaire, GE, or Whirlpool. Skip the frill features which will break down. Skip in door ice, touch screen, linear compressors, twin compressors, and internet connectivity . These are failure prone dodads, expensive, if not impossible to fix. And stay far away from Samsung, and LG. Oh, got mine delivered from a local BigBoxer for $1200.

    Sorry but Kucht ranges can’t hold a candle to BlueStar. I say this, having owned both. I purchased a Kucht 36” all gas (LP) range in December 2021, taking delivery in January 2022. I have model KNG361. We did a complete remodel of the kitchen in our previous house and I opted for a BlueStar rangetop in that kitchen. I opted for Kucht for our current home basically because of the price point. At the time I didn’t want to make the greater investment to buy a BlueStar. Like most ranges available in the US, Kucht has sealed burners; BlueStar has open burners. Open burners make cleaning so much easier. The main issue I have had with the Kucht range has been a tremendous amount of soot collecting beneath the oven floor, around the burner and igniter. I contacted Kucht about this during the first year I owned the stove and was told we needed to change the orifice from an LP orifice to an NG orifice and that they would send me one, which I never received. Ordinarily I would have followed up on this but ill health ( both my husband’s and mine) intervened and I wasn’t using the oven a lot anyway so I just didn’t. This past year I started baking bread quite often and noticed that soot was again collecting and coating the entire interior of the oven. I lifted the oven floor and there was a tremendous amount of soot there. In fact, it had coated the underside of the oven floor to such an extent that it formed sheets and dropped down around the burner. After spending an inordinate amount of time cleaning the oven of soot (again), I contacted Kucht once more. Their service tech was very helpful and I learned that there is a special “soot orifice” that I needed to replace my LP orifice to address the soot issue. Also, the oven was taking a very long time to ignite so I needed to replace my “slow igniter.” The 1’ long orifice ran me $120, plus $79 for the igniter, plus shipping. Remember, this was an issue in the manufacture of this stove. Also, I didn’t receive my stove until January of 2025, and I was calling in December2024. I learned that the warranty clock began when I ordered the stove - not when it was installed in my kitchen the third week of January. So there was no warranty assistance for this issue that was 100% a manufacturing issue. This meant also that we needed to install the igniter and soot orifice ourselves or hire a technician to do it for us. Fortunately, my husband is pretty handy and we got it done ourselves. All this said, the range is overall pretty reliable. Now that we have addressed the issues I have mentioned, it is fine. Not spectacular but fine. One other thing - they hedge around where their products are manufactured. They will say, well, we get components from all over the world but we are a US company. There is a sticker on the back of the range that clearly says “Made in China.” BlueStar is a product of the United States of America. ‘Nuff said.

      @ the brands the general consumer has never heard of that aren’t available off the floor at their local stores. As appliances get more complex the more likely you are to have issues. So ask about who maintains the brand in your area and hope they have parts in stock or can get them quickly.

    • @innovdepot
      @innovdepot 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ Even if you get parts locally, most of the time its sourced from another warehouse which involves some online medium. The industry is constantly evolving and alot of mainstream brands all source online and sell it to consumers locally in their showrooms. Everything is online now. If you want something quickly, then you need to have the reps and dealers that have your same cores and values!

    the battery powered cooktops are nice when you want to use boost mode but your electrical power supply can't provide enough current for that. for all other applications, just get a home battery. a cooktop battery is just a gadget outside of the scope of the boost mode.

    hell no to induction cooktops. if you cook daily, they go bad after 5 to 7 years because of the power electronics. hella expensive to fix, too. if fixable at all, manufacturers often stop providing spare parts once it is only 5 to 7 yrs old.... classic halogen cooktop if you live in a well insulated airtight small home or apartment. good old gas stove if you live in a bigger well ventilated place.

      Hi! It might be different in the US, but in Europe induction cooking has been the norm for the last 10-15 years at least and induction stovetops have gotten real cheap. You can get a decent one for 300€ and the most basic ones cost less than 150€. Also, I don't think they have longevity issues, my parent's one is 15 years old and the one in my appartment just got replaced but was from 2006 (Edit. I double checked). Of course a gas stovetop will last a lot longer, but I think the efficency of induction pays off.

    A few points that you did not mention. An electric range - conventional coil stove, radiant cook-top & range, and induction range ALL require 240 AMP circuits and the necessary wiring and electrical supply. Millions of homes in the USA, including apartment buildings, only supply 100 amp circuits to each home unit. Plus there are homes where less than 100 AMPS is supplied. These homes were built with the usage of gas stoves in mind, with the appropriate wiring at the time of construction. The actual wiring and building electrical codes are simply different between the 100-AMP, and the 240-AMP situations. So replacing an existing conventional coil range or radiant cook-top range with an induction range is relatively simple - the plugs and electrical hook-ups are similar. Most of the talk on You-Tube videos has been about replacing gas ranges with induction ranges. Most often such videos simply do not explain the costs involved in the conversion, or the difficulties involved. Imagine living in a well established apartment building - where everyone's unit has a gas range. New up to code wiring, new wiring ducts and electrical panels, upgraded electrical supplies - with all of these costs passed on to the tenants. There were New York Times articles that discussed all of this a year or two ago. All of this just to boil water a couple of minutes faster?

    Induction is also much easier to clean, this should be a pro on it's own. Another pro is that induction is healthier than gas as gas releases dioxides and particles in the enclosed space of your home due to the burning, and reduces oxygen levels. Don't know about the US, but almost every pan sold in the last 10 years is compatible with induction in Europe. A small buzzing noise can sometimes be heard, but it isn't much louder than gas. Range hoods are way more noisy. The price of a entry model is around 500 dollars here in Europe. Finally the learning curve of induction is much shorter than with conventional electric, as induction only heats when you tell it to (not after that), and can detect pans automatically.

    • @innovdepot
      @innovdepot หลายเดือนก่อน

      Stainless steel can actually be magnetic or non-magnetic depending on the type. For example, ferritic and martensitic stainless steels are magnetic due to their high iron content, while austenitic stainless steel, like 304 or 316, is typically non-magnetic in its natural state. However, even austenitic stainless steel can become partially magnetic if it's cold-worked or heavily processed. So, the magnetism really depends on the specific grade and how it’s treated. Hope that clears it up!

    Hummm, what energy induction stove uses if it is not electricity?

    • @innovdepot
      @innovdepot หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question! Induction stoves do use electricity, but they work differently from traditional electric stoves. Instead of using electricity to directly heat the cooktop, induction stoves use electromagnetic energy to heat the cookware itself. A magnetic field is created under the surface of the stove, and when compatible cookware (made of ferrous material) is placed on it, the energy directly heats the pot or pan. This makes induction cooking highly efficient since very little energy is wasted on heating the cooktop or the surrounding air. Hope that clears things up!

    • @olivier2553

      @@innovdepot It was a rhetorical question :) I have used gas, traditional electric (the big grey thing with a resistor inside), halogen, induction... Halogen was cool because of the red light, I see very little difference in usage between gas and induction (except the need for specific cookware); I now have both gas and induction, giving me a backup in case of both empty gas cylinder or power cut.
