Thanks very much for this. I've just seen one of these for sale where I am in France. I'm a complete newbie to machine knitting. Am I right in thinking that even when a machine has a punch card, there are still ways of improvising your own more complex patterns? I'm a professional handweaver but am wanting to develop my own complex Fairisle knitting designs to make jumpers, tank tops, waistcoats and dresses. I'm looking for a domestic machine that is good for beginners but which will also allow me to go far; could this be the one do you think?

This is the wrong way. In the service manual, we adjust according to the distance of the needles for KH and KR.
