40 odd years, I came to study in Mussoorie as a child and fell in love with Mussoorie and Dehra Dun. Back then it was a clean, green city. The smell of bakery on a cold rainy day, filled me with warmth. Sadly, Dehra Dun has lost its old charm. Your video made me miss my childhood days.

I like your presentation but the information is very vague and partial. You haven't mentioned the fact that what Gorkhas were doing in one end of garhwal in Dehradun valley hundreds of km away from their kingdom in Nepal. The answer is they were an invading army and Garhwal was their colony. The battle of Nalapani was one of the last war of Garhwal- Gorkha battles which arose because we had an infamous gorkha rule ( called Gorkhyani in Garhwali). In this battle Britishers were actually fighting on behalf of Garhwal Kingdom, which under Sudarshan shah underwent a treaty with them to expel Gorkhas, after having lost his father Pradyumna shah in the battle of Khurbura. Gorkhas were worse than britishers atleast for Garhwal. Thousands of Garhwalis who couldn't pay their taxes were sold as slaves in Haridwar. It is matter of shame that though the Nepalese who now are living in Dehradun still rever their soldiers but most of the Garhwalis,living in their own land are unaware of their history.
