The 73437 code (at 3:07) shows that this is a V8 Deluxe model, not an SD. This looks like an SD clone that doesn't even have an SD hood. A real 68 Beaumont SD 2-door hardtop would have a 73837 code. The engine in this car is a small block, SD's had only big blocks.

Melde mich noch mal, hatte ja schon einen Kommentar abgegeben. Die Citroen GS Modelle haben mich 10 Jahre begleitet. Der Motor lief erst mit einer Nachgerüsteten Transistorzündung einigermaßen zufriedenstellend. Bei den Federkugeln mußte ofter mal Stickstoff nach gefüllt werden, sonst hatte die Federung keine Funktion mehr. Irgenwann war die Membrane in der Federkugel undicht, dann wurden alle ausgetauscht. Der Hauptdruckspeicher war auch eine Federkugel, man mußte immer einen Hammer dabei haben, wenn die klemmte. Die Bremsen und die Lenkung vielen aus wenn der Klemmte, war sehr gefährlich. Abschleppen ging nur mit Abschleppstange oder Fahrzeug aufladen, nach ca. 10 Minuten hatte es keine Bremswirkung mehr, die Lenkung viel ja auch aus, bei einer Motor-Panne. Hatte 1975 einen GS neu gekauft, nach 5 Jahren rosteten die hinteren Kotflügel durch. Das Innenblech in Radraum lag lose am Außenkotflügel, war nicht vulkaisiert, scheuerte mit der Zeit die Lackierung weg, dann kamen bald die Rostpickel. Keine Blikerrückstellung vorhanden, das nervte. Die Bremscheiben vorne, waren am Getriebe montiert, die Sicherunsmuttern der Antriebswellen lösten sich. Waren die Antriebswellen verschlissen gingen sie nur zum Getriebe hin raus, der Motor und das Getriebe mußten dazu ausgebaut werden, weil das Getriegeseitige größere Homokinetische Antriebswellengelenk nicht nach außen durch die Öffnung der Vorderachse hindurchging. Die Gelenke hatte an jeder Seite 3 Nadellager, war ein Dichtungsbalg kaputt, musste man die Antriebswelle trennen, den Sprengring lösen. Wenn man den Balg öffnete vielen alle 21 Nadeln der Kugelhülse ( 3 Stck. ) Ins Schmierfett. Die Hinten Bremssättel waren nach einem Halben Jahr fest, sie hetten keine Gummiabdichtungen. Die Handbremsbeläge wirkten auf die vorderen Bremssättel, groß wie eine 5 DM Münze, hatte man vergessen die Handbremse zu lösen waren die Beläge schnell hinüber, beim Abschleppen mit einem Seil hatte man ja keine Fußbremse, wenn der Motor nicht lief, da war sie sofort verschlissen. Um neue Handbremsbeläge einzubauen, mußte man ein Akrobat sein, das war katastrophal. Die Türöffner paßten von der Spannungsreie des Materials nicht zu dem lackierten Blech der Türen, da fehlte die Dichtung dazwischen, es gab sehr schnell Kontaktkorrosion. Das war alle sehr Abenteuerlich.

Bin alle Modelle gefahren, eine einzige Katastrophe, der CX war auch nicht besser. Waren alles Fehlkonstruktionen. Habe sie selber repariert und gewartet. War ein Schrecken ohne Ende.

Would you happen to know any details about those hubcaps? Those look like Mefro wheels but I've never seen that style cap before. That's a clean Vanagon.

Fué mi primer auto, sí, me compré una citroneta 1959, si mal no recuerdo, y andubo siempre...........Lo unico q ocurrió fué q la cremayera del eje del manubrio o volante, se gasto y ya no comandaba más la caja de direccion............El volante era un caño, jamas me olvidare.........Más adelante tube un 2cv 70 ya con 18HP este volaba comparado con la citroneta...............Con este me mudé toda la casa, e iba manejando en lo q transportaba, sin asientos, techo y tapa de baúl, la mudanza fué entre Citty Bell y Villa Elisa solo unos 15Km pero si hubiese sido más largo el tramo solo tomaría más tiempo, tambien puedo contarles q ahí en V. Elisa me cansé de remolcar coches q se quedaban en el barro, y no podían creér q yo con un 2cv podia remolcarlos sacandolos del barro donde se habian quedado por ejemplo chevrolet, falcon, dodges etc............Y ni hablar de las curvas dobladas a mil, donde las ruedas rozaban los guardabarros...............Voy a conprarme uno otra vez, para usar en Suecia donde vivo hoy en día, ya q son una maravilla, lo más simple y simpaticos...........Y por sobretodo lo más dibertido de manejar, dejando a todos con la boca abierta de admiración por una o otra cosa.
