Easy DIY Herb Box CHEAP
I set out to build an easy, relatively cheap herb box to try and better the big box store prices. Follow me through this simple build that anyone can do in their backyard with minimal hand tools.
These dimensions are just what I decided to do. You can adjust heights or dimensions as needed to suit your need. The assembly will be the same regardless.

Garmin ECHOMAP Plus 94sv Unboxing & Installation (How To)
มุมมอง 140K4 ปีที่แล้ว
I picked up a new Garmin ECHOMAP Plus 94sv with a GT51M-TM transducer to replace my old GPSMAP unit. In this video I walk through an unboxing/install of the entire system, and overcoming a few complications experienced during the process. There's one thing I didn't see - two old bracket holes filled in before installing the new transducer bracket. Any hole or damage to a boat hull can be filled in to be just as strong as the hull by using an epoxy putty product "marine-tek". it's sold at most marine stores. West Marine sells it under their own brand "West-Tek". It allowed me to completely refit my Mako 211. With a little paint, you'll never know the old holes were there. Ream out the hole to get down to new material, get an epoxy syringe - also from West Marine, mix the putty and load the syringe - new hull, no water intrusion.

    I like using transom savers for the issue you had with the transducer. That way it doesn’t matter if holes don’t align.

      The blue and brown wires are the NMEA 0183 in/out leads. They are used to connect Garmin to other NMEA devices such as your marine VHF radio. th-cam.com/video/4wuh5ux7jZs/w-d-xo.html

      Not in the box. If you need longer power leads than I would look at garmin. I’m sure they have extended wires.

    Nice clean install. I might be installing this same unit in my Pathfinder 2200v tomorrow on NASP. First time messing around with one. Bit anything will be better than the Lowrance originally installed on the boat in 2000. I keep my boat at the marina by the front gate.

    Transducer on a paddle boat...just make it flush with bottom of boat? Or above a hair on the bottom of boat

    • @anthonyblack7990
      @anthonyblack7990 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would make it just about flush with the bottom of the hull. The only reason you lower it on a motorized boat is to get the transducer below the turbulent water coming off the boat.

    • @chaching_fishin8786
      @chaching_fishin8786 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @anthonyblack7990

    • @anthonyblack7990
      @anthonyblack7990 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      How far beneath the water isn’t as important as to where on the hill of the boat it’s mounted. With that, you should try to mount it as low as possible on the hull, while also avoiding anything that’s going to crest water turbulence when underway

    I'm thinking of getting this unit for my 21' CC. I currently don't have a GPS. I use a sextant to calculate the azimuth of the Sun to find my position on a chart. I use a compass for my heading. Then again, I was a quartermaster in the U.S. Navy. Dead reckoning, a compass, and a sextant are like peanut butter and jelly with chocolate milk. Yes, I'm am a real navigator. My thing is, people rely on electronics way too much. Keep in mind we're all one solar storm away from fried electronics - world wide - and that includes satellites. It's not a question of if that will happen - but when.

    • @anthonyblack7990
      @anthonyblack7990 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Readings at higher speeds will almost always be interfered with at some point due to disturbances in the water. But I have experienced accurate reads up to about 35 mph continuously based off bottom knowledge.
